Urban Plates is my go-to when I want to eat out but still feel good about what I'm putting in my body. The food tastes clean and you genuinely feel good after you eat it, which is not something I can say about a lot of restaurants. The coconut lime refresher is my favorite drink there and I get it every time. My partner loves that there are solid gluten free options, which always makes choosing a place easier for us. I usually default to the chicken tenders but this visit I switched it up and got a sandwich, also a great choice. The negatives... - my steak frites were lukewarm and chewy - the salad was overdressed - after food was brought that was about the level of service you get. But, I added a $15 tip for 3 people just to deliver our food - food came out too fast - all felt like a cafeteria vs a restaurant The positives... - clean and friendly staff - a number of organic ingredients - good mix of options Would I go back? For lunch, sure. For dinner, no. It's no True Food. It is good for what it is. So, I give a solid 4 rating. I went with the Dragon Fruit Strawberry and it had just the right amount of sweetness! I love the patio area too, which we luckily had all to ourselves. And if you have a dog with you, the server will ask if you'd like a bowl of water. It was so great to have that need anticipated before we even asked. And thankfully we were checked up on frequently, even though it was just us outside. This was actually my first time dining at this chain, and I will definitely be coming back. The food and service here is excellent! What brought me in was their social media ads for the new Steak and Frites, which is a dish you see at almost every restaurant in Europe. The waiters then bring the food to you. Or, you can find a table first and order online with your table number. We usually order the Cesar wrap with crispy chicken, sub the chips with truffle fries + a side of truffle aioli sauce, and the grass fed steak with mushrooms and marbled potatoes. The chips that usually come with the chicken wrap are really salty, which is why I substitute it with the truffle fries for an extra $5. The truffle flavor is strong and the texture is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! The steak was cooked perfectly, and the sides were seasoned well, too. Khloe made we had a great ordering experience and was very thorough in explaining different menu options and gave me suggestions on what to order based off of my feedback. My husband recently visited for dinner and had a very disappointing experience. Before I explain what happened, I want to mention that we have visited your restaurant about four times in the past two weeks because we genuinely love the food. Unfortunately, the service has consistently been lacking, and this most recent visit was unacceptable. My husband called in a to-go order ahead of time. When he arrived, it wasn't quite ready, which was completely understandable. He waited patiently and periodically checked on the status of his order. He had also paid an additional $3 to upgrade to fries, and naturally expected them to be served fresh and hot. After about 15 minutes, he continued waiting without concern. Around the 20-minute mark, he noticed his order sitting on the counter. As a restaurant manager himself, he recognized that it had been sitting there for quite some time. No one had called his name or attempted to notify him that his food was ready. When he asked a team member about it, he was told it wasn't his order. After they looked into it further, they realized it actually was his order. By that point, it had been sitting on the counter for approximately 20 minutes, meaning the food--including the fries he paid extra for--was cold. Another concern we've noticed during our visits is the level of customer service. The staff is very young, which isn't an issue in itself, but they often seem attentive only to customers who leave tips. During a previous visit, we even watched employees give a complimentary dessert to another table, while our concerns have never been acknowledged. What was most disappointing was the manager's response. My husband spoke with her to explain what had happened, but she simply apologized and made no effort to resolve the situation or make things right. The interaction came across as dismissive and unprofessional, especially from someone in a management position. Spending $18 on a meal that sat on the counter long enough to become cold is frustrating, especially when the issue could have been avoided simply by calling out his name. We are Plate Members and have been loyal customers because we truly enjoy the food. However, after this experience, we're honestly questioning whether we'll return. We hope this feedback is taken seriously, as we'd love to continue supporting your restaurant. Great food deserves great service, and unfortunately, this experience fell far short of that standard. read more

As far as price point and value, Urban Plates really does not disappoint. I signed up for their Plate Pass, which is essentially $5/month for 20% off your entire order every month. I only need to go 1-2 times to have that discount pay off and it's been great. They also have the chef specials which are also already discounted that you can apply the Plate Pass discount to. On top of that the food and service is amazing. All the staff are friendly and so helpful, especially Eric who always goes above and beyond to make sure we are satisfied. I will say the portion size was small for $20 in my opinion. Steak was also unseasoned but the restaurant emphasizes healthy and clean food, so that was probably the reason why.
