Hello, I wanted to provide feedback regarding my manicure and pedicure appointment today between approximately 1:00-3:00 PM. I am sharing this constructively because I believe there are opportunities to improve communication, customer care, and service consistency. When I arrived, I explained that I currently had UV gel nails and was looking for a manicure option that would provide durability against chipping without continuing UV gel. I specifically asked for guidance because I am not highly familiar with nail products, removal methods, or the differences between service options. I first asked the owner/manager for advice and was directed to discuss details with the nail technician. During the service, I again attempted to ask questions and seek recommendations but struggled to receive clear explanations or education regarding available options. One opportunity for improvement may be providing customers with a simple explanation of the different nail service options offered, why customers typically choose one option over another, expected durability, removal methods, maintenance requirements, and any tradeoffs involved. Customers should not have to assume knowledge of industry practices. (Written out with options like menus with numbers/letters). During my pedicure, several concerns occurred: * My toenails were clipped before soaking began, which surprised me and felt rushed. * Cuticle work was performed with significant pressure. I verbally asked for lighter pressure and reacted with pulling my toe back, but the pressure did not change. * My feet and toes were handled roughly during filing and trimming, and multiple times the file contacted my skin rather than only my nails. * Existing nail product removal was done with an electric grinder rather than acetone. While I now understand this may be a standard approach in some situations, there was no explanation provided beforehand. * Communication throughout the service was minimal, and the overall approach felt abrupt rather than attentive or customer-focused. * The leg massage portion felt repetitive and lacked adjustment in pressure or technique. * During the pedicure polish application, I asked whether there was any protective topcoat or additional option that could help improve durability and reduce chipping. I was told there were no additional options available. Before the manicure began, I specifically requested acetone removal rather than electric filing, but the electric grinder was again prepared without discussion. During the manicure itself, filing again contacted my skin rather than only my nails, and my hands were repositioned abruptly after I reacted. I also observed that there was no visible communication or signage regarding cell phone usage expectations or policies. During the manicure, I received an important phone call from my son's dentist regarding ongoing dental issues and answered briefly to let them know I would return the call. During that interaction, I perceived visible frustration and body language from the technician that made the environment feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Shortly afterward, I decided to leave before my manicure was completed. I had hoped to discuss these concerns directly with management, but the manager was unavailable at the time. My purpose in sharing this is not to criticize individuals personally, but to provide customer feedback that may help improve communication, education, gentleness of technique, professionalism, and overall customer experience. ** Update as of Friday 12/19/25 one of the gels chipped. So disappointing!! Barely 24 hours old!** I called the morning of and was able to book an appointment for this afternoon at 12:30! The salon is very clean, beautifully decorated, and staffed with welcoming friendly nail technicians! I chose a mani/pedi. I had the coconut mask on my legs and paraffin wrap on my feet, especially on my dry heels. I also enjoyed the massage, hot stone treatment, and hammering treatment with wooden handled rubber hammers. Very nice!! I picked out regular polish for my toes in a deep sparkling green! The experience was lovely! Ava is fast and thorough, friendly, and thoughtful. The massage chairs are great! Before I knew it my pedicure was complete and it was time to shuffle over to the manicure station! I chose a dark green gel and asked if I can have some nail art- snow, snow drifts, and pine trees. Ava gave me a wonderful manicure. She applied the gel color until it came time to do the trees. Joyce painted the trees on two fingers and did a wonderful job! Then Ava completed the look with silver sparkle snow drifts! I am very happy with how my nails look! I will definitely return the next time I am in the Saratoga Springs area and need nail services! read more

I've been traveling to upstate New York since I was a kid, and have lived here for various stretches of time, so trust me when I say this is the best of all of them. It is incredibly clean, and an open vibe. You really can't miss with any of the staff, but if you want nail art I reccomend Lina. The renovated space is nice. Hadn't been there in a while. I did not get a great technician. Something was definitely lost in translation from the woman behind the desk to another man to the tech. My nails were cut too short, not square, and although I did not get polish he wanted to charge me an extra $10 to buff them...something that would have taken a quarter of the time vs polishing and using only the buffing file. I was only in Saratoga Springs for the month of August. The person that did my nails did not speak any English. . It seemed like she was new to doing a manicure. She ruined my nails filing them. Some were very short none of them were shaped correctly. It took her forever to put on the polish and she put it on really thick and lumpy. This was a gel manicure! Sadly disappointed and feel the need to share what transpired. I had been going to Hello Nails for several years. In the beginning, great experience and my first review reflected it. Then one of the male manicurists got snarky with me when my tip reflected the fact that he spent my entire appointment talking on his personal cellphone. See my first update. More recently, I had an appointment with the owner's mother who always did my pedicures. She's a delight, always pleasant and smiling, and knows what I like. Anyway, I arrived for my appointment and was told I was late and my time with this technician was given away to another customer. Actually, I was early. The owner wrote the appointment incorrectly in his book. He was adamant that it was my fault, not his, even though I had repeated the time on the phone 3x when I made the appointment. Bad move and poor customer service. So, someone else did my pedicure. Not a big deal. But his attitude and the fact that post-pandemic his prices have gone up considerably made me look elsewhere. read more

I went there a few years ago for a pedicure. It was on a Friday afternoon and I think that the young woman doing my nails wanted to be somewhere else. She gave me a horrible pedicure and I haven't been back since. There was an older man there who was great and I would recommend however I can't remember his name. As I was sitting in town watching all the women (and some men) pass by wearing sandals, and flip-flops with their pedicured toes, I realized it was 6 months past time to show my toes some love. So I called Hello Nails for a spur of the moment pedicure and was given an appointment for 15-20 min. from then. Yay! Leo was my nail tech and did an amazing job. He didn't like the nail color I picked out for myself so he went and came back with a few alternatives. Of course he was right. He also talked me into the callus treatment, smart guy. I'm in town visiting and wanted a relaxing pedicure for my chilly feet! I made an appointment this past Wednesday on the phone and was delighted that they had availability same day. When I arrived, I was greeting warmly by the receptionist, and noticed immediately how clean and bright everything was. All of the staff and customers were masked, which is required and an A+ from me! I picked out my gel color, and let me tell you, their selection is lovely! My technician, Leo, took me to my chair and helped me selection a pedicure. I went with their too tier, a $90 gold pedicure. This was worth every penny. Probably the BEST pedicure I've had. It had all the stops: scrubs, lotions, hot stones, towels, a mask, callus removal, wax dip.....and a 40 MINUTE MASSAGE! Yeah, you read that right. I felt like a queen. I have always felt so rushed through the massage part of a pedicure, and as someone who works 12 hour days in their feet, the massage is a why I go. Leo was incredible, and so kind. I always go to Happy Nails for pedicures and have always been happy , my gel manicures I go to my hair salon in Albany. I needed to get nails done for a trip and didn't have the time to drive to Albany. Hello Nails offers a very clean environment and options galore when it comes to nail colors and styles. Unfortunately the service is lacking and they overcharge you. The first time I went and for ANC and they broke within a few days. I came to get them fixed and they were closing- 3 hours early. So I just had them take them off. Decided to try again and again- closing 3 hours early. (Times based online and their hours of operation listed on the door.) They insisted it was ok and I sat there for an hour while she rushed through my service, other workers feverishly cleaned, and one worker sauntered around belching. YES, Belching. My nails are janky, crooked and although I was quoted $40, they were 65+a fee for using a credit card. $78 to get ANC is flipping highway robbery. Not again. While everyone does recommend appointments, and I had none, I walked in expecting to wait or make an appointment later in the day. However it was my very lucky day as they had a spot for me. Worst manicure ever. They spent maybe 10 minutes on it. Color doesn't cover my whole nail and is lopsided across the hand (some covered, some not). Cut nails too short even though I asked her not to cut short. Ridges not buffed down. Cuticles not completely removed. 5 second hand massage. All-around bad job. They probably thought I was a tourist stopping in. I am a local and will spread the word. Used to be a great place. Now they just want you in and out. One star for being clean. read more

They get busy, so be forewarned, but they do take walk-ins. Came by one afternoon for pedicures for two people - they didn't have any immediate availability, but asked if we would like to come back a few hours later. We said sure, went downtown for some drinks and apps to kill the time, and we're back and in the salon chairs exactly when they promised. If I'm being honest, a large part of me goes to Hello Nails because of the FABULOUS leg massage that you get with your spa pedicure. I recently moved here at the end of the summer, so I've gone here four times now for gel manis and a regular pedi. I quickly learned you MUST make an appointment ahead of time which is no biggie, they're in high demand for a reason... they're good at what they do. The quality of the products is stellar because I have NEVER in my 13 years of getting gel manis had them last an entire MONTH, completely unscathed. I would have given another star based on the quality of the work if not for the disturbing practice of charging more than the posted price for a service. Businesses are hurting from COVID, I get it that prices must be raised, and I have no problem paying more to support a good business. Came here with a bridal party for manicures. ANC manicure was $30, which I tried for the first time. Did not feel like any of them were friendly or welcoming. Throughout the manicure Coco, my manicurist, constantly made me feel like I was holding my hands the wrong way, not a big deal. I got a red color and she had me wash my hands. She comes to look at my hands, sees they are still red, but sends me on my way. I assumed it would come off after a couple more aggressive hand washings but still stains on my finger tips and my cuticles look terrible. I don't recommend this salon. read more

I have never written a bad review before so I feel bad doing this, but this was my second time going here and both times have been horrible. I went back hoping I would get another nail tech and to see if it would be a better experience. I got my nails done by Ava both times and they have been awful. The first time I got acrylic tips and gel polish. I wanted a light pink color with a blue tip. She only did one coat of the dip color on the nail, so you could see through to the acrylic tip... The nails were drastically different lengths on each hand and I was in so much pain from the tools burning through my nails -I've never had that happen before. She definitely did a rush job which was really upsetting considering with after tip it was over $70... This time, I had the acrylic tips removed and wanted just my natural nails with Gel polish. She didn't let my nails soak or anything to remove the tips, she literally stuck a card under each nail and ripped them off (which most of us know how painful that is!) while the woman next to me had her nails soaking and looked so peaceful lol. She nicked my skin several times with her tools, so I have cuts on my fingers and overall it was just a bad experience. She also filed the surface of my nails so much that I noticed part of it was raw straight to the back of the skin. I'm sure the other techs there are great, and they all seemed nice - but I will not be going back. It is too pricey for a painful rush-job. read more

Walked in at about 11am on a Monday. As there were no technicians available, they asked me to make an appointment for 12noon that same day. When I arrived back 5 minutes early, the technician was ready for me, and knew the reason for my appointment, with out needing to be reminded. She did an excellent job on my ANC nails. She was even able to fix a bad broken nail, with out just cutting it down, as most other shops would have done. I just moved here, and I'm thankful to have found Hello Nail right away. I haven't been trying to find my new nail salon for months in Saratoga Springs. I LOVE this place that was suggested to me by one of my friends. From the moment I walked in everyone was kind and generous. Peggy was absolutely wonderful! ((Even when I couldn't decide on a color after I'd been there for 15 minutes)). She listened to what I wanted, checked in with me along the way for size, shape, length, etc. the salon is clean and beautiful and I LOVE my new nail place!
