I waited to post this review to see how my haircut grew out and I have to say that Yuna's haircut is the best cut I have received in the Bay Area! I was trying to dye my hair but I had a perm on the ends of my hair, so I wanted to get them cut off before my next color appointment. I had shoulder length hair at that point and wanted it trimmed to a mid neck bob along with new face framing bangs. Yuna did a great job at fulfilling my request and she was also honest when she told me that she could not get all the perm off without cutting shorter, so I would have to use a hair straight until my next appointment to cut after my hair grew out. I knew I found my official go-to stylist in Yuna when she cut my hair the first time and the next day, all my coworkers were complimenting my hair. This last time I went to see her, I opted for something way different than what I usually do and trusted Yuna to make it amazing. The end result was a great bob with a beautiful dark red/purple balayage that pictures just don't do full justice to. In person, the color is just bright enough without being too loud and once again, my coworkers were complimenting me for the entire day. I'm genuinely perplexed by all the other glowing reviews here. I got a hair cut from Yuna last weekend and I am very much disappointed with the result. I went in asking for two things: I didn't want too many layers and didn't want to cut off too much of my hair - she managed to do both. As soon as I sat down, she went on and on about how damaged my hair was and told me to get some hair treatment without telling me the price (which ended up being way more expensive than the haircut itself and didn't do much to my hair after all). When she started thinning out my hair using scissors, I voiced my concerns that such techniques tend to make my hair look coarse and shaggy and she blamed it on my hair! After spending 200 dollars and several hours on a Saturday, I ended up a with shapeless shaggy semi-bob that is completely unmanageable. I'm so embarrassed with my hair cut that I've been hiding it in a bun. Definitely won't be coming back. Update as of December 19, 2019: Yuna - thanks for your reply. Here's my attempt to provide more context and additional facts for those who might be interested: 1. Hair cut - At the beginning of my appointment with Yuna, I specifically asked for not too many layers and something that would be low-maintenance. We also agreed on how much hair would be cut off. I did not ask for a semi-bob that I would have to use a curling iron everyday to tame the frizzy shaggy ends from the hair cut. I am aware that a cut does not change the texture of hair (I have naturally coarse hair that has a lot of volume) but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect that, especially at the price point that Yuna charges ($90 for a cut), you would walk away with a style that actually takes your hair condition and texture into consideration. If Yuna had told me that she was going to give me a cut that would look better with either a perm or heat styling every day, I certainly would have said no. 2. Olaplex treatments - I have received many Olaplex treatments before and have never been charged more than 50-60 dollars even at high-end salons in Manhattan. I guess I should not have assumed the price of the treatment as I am not familiar with the market price in the Bay Area but I have to say that I was surprised to see the $80 addition at the end of the cut. I wondered whether the Olaplex product Yuna used on me was different than the ones I typically get but based on how my hair feels after the treatment, I don't think so. 3. Tips - I was definitely not happy with how my hair looked after the cut and I thought that's why Yuna offered to use the curling iron on me to tame it down. Though I was not satisfied with the cut, I appreciated her friendliness - also, at that point, I knew that there wasn't much else to be done because so much of my hair had already been cut off. read more

Overpriced and overbooked. My hair is full of choppy, uneven layers that don't blend together. The bottoms are all uneven and don't look natural. She told me she had to thin my hair, which normally is fine with uneven scissors but he just cut chunks of hair from underneath, so now it doesn't lay naturally.
