Kevin and his crew are not to be trusted. They damaged my wall when they moved the furniture out of my house. The crew also smoked marijuana on their break, and returned to the house smelling like it. I think this is the most unprofessional and rude moving outfit I have ever had the unfortuante experiacne of hiring. I have never experienced a worse moving company and I have moved about 12 times in the last 10 years. They just flat out didn't show up for our move, or call to let us know what happened. The night before our move, they called me and said that instead of the scheduled time of 9-10am, they were going to be a couple hours late, arriving around 12:30-1:00pm but that they would call me in the morning and give me an ETA. No call in the morning. Or at noon, or 1pm. Then I started calling. And no answer. I left three voice messages with no call back and then a fourth to cancel the move and start looking for other movers. They never showed up. And never called. Wow. Really? People do that? I'm hoping they are okay and that nothing terrible happened. I waited over 24 hours to write this review to give them the benefit of the doubt but still, no dice on a communication from them. They seemed like good guys over the phone, but I'm disappointed (and frustrated) by the lack of showing up and communicating. read more

Called Kevin needing emergency help with a move. My move-out date was neigh, and I was way behind schedule. He gave me an excellent, competitive quote. I asked for the 2 movers to arrive the next morning so that they could start fresh. Steve and Troy gave me a call 15 minutes before the appointed time. They arrived exactly on the dot. Throughout the 2 hours, they worked quickly and steadily, with great care to my possessions, moving heavy pieces up one flight of stairs with no elevator. We were satisfied with our move, but the time went well over what was projected. I didnt enjoy spending double. We ended up paying $300.00 instead of $175.00 but on that very same note they moved us during a storm, so Its to be expected. Patrick and Chris were awesome. They really care about their company. Definitely a mixed bag here ... Great communication from Kevin, but when I told him we changed the start time for the next day, felt a bit chastised. Also, when I told him 2 things had been broken, he said he'd follow up, but never heard from him again. I will say, though, that I didn't try to reach him again. As it turns out, it was 3 pieces of furniture that were damaged. A desk, that I wasn't worried about, my great aunt's antique china cabinet, a big concern, particularly since no one told me about it, and a very expensive sewing cabinet that had the entire wheel base broken off. Patrick was off the clock, but found smoking Pot in the truck rented under my name. A big concern, because I would have been liable for anything that may have happened. On the plus side, good attitude from the workers, and I'd say the paid employees were the 5+ star, vs owner father/son, not so much. After only 4 hours of this review being on yelp, I received a phone call from Kevin telling me, "this is malicious slander and I'm taking you to court," and he hung up. I started with 3 stars for Helping Hands, but now that I've been harassed for this review, I'm lowering 2 a 1-star. I received another phone call this morning at 5:14 a.m. This is Helping Hands, we're going to come by, me and the guys, to look at your damaged furniture. I'm gonna tell you something, you opened up a can of worms when you wrote a bad review. You paid us and you tipped us, and I'll tell you another thing, a couple of weeks later you write a bad review on us, that's bull shit, I'm gonna call you every day, and I'm gonna come by your place withy guys to see your damaged furniture, and we're gonna see if it's real or not okay. Stay far away from this BOZO operation!!!! I wish I had read all the review prior to entrusting these clowns with moving me... The BAD REVIEWS ARE ALL TRUE. Kevin talks a good game and under delivers in every way. Damages, carelessness, pot smoking while on the clock driving, overcharging for everything, double billing on gas (yes I paid CASH to have them fill it up only to find out the next day they returned the truck empty and UHaul billed me for gas at their rate) That is stealing! In addition the stoners left the legs to my $6000 couch on the truck which is now being rented by someone else. I have called Kevin three times regarding a credit back of $115 in overcharges, the damages and missing legs. He won't return my call. So, here you go KEVIN.....reviews are everything! read more

The movers themselves were very nice, but not professionals. They were not careful with our items, and when a piece of wood fell off a piece of furniture, the guy acted like it was my fault and didn't even try to fix it (it wasn't a huge deal and I fixed it, I just couldn't believe he didn't even try!). The part that I really didn't like was that AFTER they left, Kevin called me to say that they hadn't collected a "stair fee" of $25. He had NEVER quoted me that even though I'd told him exactly what the move entailed. Keep in mind these are normal stairs, not like 5 floors up or anything, this is a 2 story house. They were there for 45 minutes and I paid a total of $145 + tip. Would never use again. read more

I giving this 1 star because of damage caused to my house during the move by the movers. We spoke to the owner who told us that he would send someone out to repair the window sill that was broken while moving a washer. I would have still given this 4 stars had he followed through with his promise. We never heard from him again. We called him to follow up and he said that we would be hearing from a contractor by the next day to do the repair. Well, 5 days later we called again and he had blocked our phone number. Not only was my window sill broken in the process, but a wheel was ripped out of a wooden toy box, part of my carpet was ruined, and 2 boxes which were clearly labelled, were unloaded and put down upside-down down, and happened to be pantry boxes which ended up spilling coffee grounds all over everything inside the box as well as all over my new carpet when I opened one of the boxes. None of these things would have been a huge deal to me, had 1) someone said something when the toy box was broken and I didn't just happen to find it myself and 2) a promise to repair damage caused to the house been followed through with, and again we called the owner to ask about it and he blocked our phone number from calling him. This is completely unprofessional. If, by chance, reparations are made in the future for the broken window sill, I will update this review. But as of now, my feeling is that you should save yourselves the trouble and find a moving company that will follow through when they damage your property read more

Nice hard working guys, but careless in the hurriedness to unload. I had an expensive Wolfe double wall oven already loaded on a dolly when we loaded it for our move, which we left on the dolly so it would be easy to unload and wheel into the storage unit. I explained this to the two guys, the said, yes, yes, no problem, I was standing right there at the ramp, ready for them to wheel it down the ramp: I turned my head for a moment to grab a box and they proceed to try to lift the dam thing from the truck and carry it instead of using the dolly and the ramp! Because of it's heaviness and cumbersomEness of size, these guys totally underestimate it and the thing starts to tip sideways a which point they drop stand bend a facia piece. I'm like - WTF??? I stood here and TOLD you to use the ramp !!!!!! I asked them if they were insured and they got uncomfortable, they weren't sure, etc. At this point, I had no way of knowing if the oven was still operational because ti was going to a storage unit until the new house was completed and as I was exhausted from moving for 4 weeks I just told them to effing leave it. They were apologetic but who cares? I didn't need them to be apologetic, I needed them to be CAREFUL and professional. Trying to muscle the oven off the truck when there was a ramp and the thing was already easily movable on the dolly was unnecessarily careless, irresponsible and just plain stupid. I mean, really - how much longer would it really have taken to just wheel the oven down the ramp ?? 2 minutes?? It still pisses me off to no end. Other things to note, they were 20 minutes late because they couldn't manage to find the storage place and all in all during unloading my carefully loaded truck they were hurried, sloppy and careless. I actually had to have them take boxes back out of the unit so we could reorganize because they didn't think about how to place it or if the boxes said ' fragile, don't stack', etc. , and were just jamming in and out. All in all I would never use them again because while you want your movers to be efficient you don't want them to be on such speed auto pilot that they're careless things and handle your things badly. Working hard is pointless if you don't work smart, and working too fast doesn't actually save you time if you just have to do things over or damage things because you're going TOO fast. As the old saying goes, "a stitch in time saves nine". In the end I paid them and let the thing with the oven go because I was exhausted but never again. read more

The crew for me was Patrick and Chris and they were friendly, fun, and efficient. They even helped me pack boxes. DO NOT USE!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, my previously scheduled movers had to cancel due to illness, and I was left at the last minute trying to secure a new moving company. Called several moving companies and this was the only "moving company" to respond with availability. The owner, Kevin C., in the beginning was great, assured me that all would be taken care of, his guys would be great, and personable, and I would feel secure and comfortable with the move, of which I was most grateful. I informed Kevin that a funiture dolly and a truck with a lift gate would be necessary, as there were 3 heavy pieces: concrete fountain approx. 3' wide, a full antique dresser, and an armoire/entertainment center. (Previous professional legitimate moving company had no difficulties, nor had met any challenges in moving these pieces a few years ago.) Kevin's laborors (son and friend) were indeed nice and courteous throughout the move, however, they did not have the appropriate tools to move furniture other than muscle - no dolly, no tools, etc. (I was hesitant to use this "moving company" and should have trusted my instincts due to the fact the client must arrange for the rental truck-style/type per Kevin's recommendation, and that cash would be required. It had not been explained this "company" was not a legitimate moving company, and that they simply supply the labor. Due to my situation (deadline to be out of my residence by March 1st) I scheduled the move. I did arrange for the truck, and did purchase the extra insurance. Again, the guys were nice and accommodating; it only became a challenge when the guys were leaving. They pulled out of the drive with the top of the truck catching the awning, pulling it from the plaster and bent it like tin foil. Yes, accidents happen, and I understand this, however, it was the owners interaction that was most intolerable when explaining the damages. Kevin hung up on me several times, and did not want to take any responsibility for his "movers" and the damage, and told me to turn it into my insurance company. Kevin instructed me to retrieve the driver's information (license number and insurance info, of which no insurance info was provided, however, the driver informed me he would forward it. I will be shocked if this factually happens). When I informed Kevin the driver had not provided me all information, he argued with me stating he had, and, once again, hung up on me. The last interaction from Kevin was a request for me to forward photos to a phone number, and he would send over a contractor to review the awning damage first thing in the morning. What I now know about Kevin and his "company", this is not a possibility. I did pay for the labor, as the furniture was moved and believe in paying for services rendered. read more

Pretty pleased with these guys. We thought we had a fairly simple move, all the boxes and small things were already at our new location, leaving just the big items. Turns our we had more than we thought and we ended up working two guys through what probably should have been a three or four man move. Through it all they were courteous and professional and they worked their butts off. Yes, a piece of furniture did get dinged and a wall did get scraped, but I attribute that to the extraordinary weight of the pieces, and, again, to how much work they had already done (read: tired). They were on time, worked until the move was done (well past dark), and definitely took care with moving things. I would hire them again. read more

It was an awesome job by the guys. I had initially booked some helpers through U-Haul Moving Help, but Kevin gave me a much lower price. The guys came on time and finished the job in less than 2 hrs. I had booked a 17' truck, but got a 15' truck due to unavailability, so it was a tough task trying to fit all the stuff into a smaller truck. The guys were awesome in figuring out how to fit all the things in an optimal but safe way. Great job. read more
