I moved from Sonoma County to contra costa county. These guys are really good fast and get the work done. The owner, Eric was great at assessing my home to move. I had to move my move in date so many times due to my new place not being move in ready. He was very patient and kept communicating with me until we set a date that actually stuck(my issue, not his). Overall I would refer them to anyone looking for a mover and I would use them again if they worked out of contra costa county. We needed to move my mother from one second floor apartment to another community on the third floor, with little advance time. Tana was recommended by Betsy movers (she was booked), and we felt so lucky to get a company that was so reliable and flexible. We communicated by phone and messaging. The movers were great, very chill as I was in a flutter trying to get things into boxes that my mom still had laying around. They took apart a queen mechanical bed and put it back together; yay. I have used them twice before and would use them again. Certainly I would recommend them. They are FAST, and reliable, and flexible. I especially appreciate reliable as moving day is very stressful. I also like how easy it was to get a quote via Yelp, or on their website, or to just call them. Payment is super easy with all the choices, (I used Paypal). I have one minor complaint, which is why I gave 4 stars rather than 5. Last time I moved they didn't tighten my bed frame up tight and it collapsed with me on it. Easy fix for me; nothing was broke. This time I considered transporting a glass dresser top myself so keep it safe but the mover said he would wrap it. It got a one inch shard broken off on the corner. I will glue it, so no expense. So they are FAST but maybe slow down a bit. Other than those minor issues, they are great. read more

I thought we got it all taken care of but the day of the moving, they showed up with 2 movers and aa 16 foot truck. I had requested 3 movers and 3 movers. Tana Movers delivers in an exceptional way! Eric gave me a quote over the phone and recommended 3 movers for our weekend move. He was flexible with our Saturday afternoon move or Sunday morning. Our time was dependent upon a another work job on the house that we were waiting completion on. We ended up going with the Sunday morning move. This worked beyond our expectations. Tana Movers showed up with 4 movers and a 26' truck. Within 2 hours our 3 room + kitchen house was loaded onto the truck. In under 1 hour everything was offloaded and move in. Absolutely nothing was broken!! I own a large armoire which required all 4 lads to move and they did it without breaking a sweat.! Well, it took 4 men so. PLEASE BEWARE Tana Movers has moved antique furniture for myself and my dad for several years, but when his employees damaged several of the antiques Eric the owner wouldn't cover cost of the damage. Tana Movers broke a 100 year old piece of marble fireplace. Eric had it repaired but when the fireplace installer went to use the piece it wouldn't fit. It cost me thousands of dollars to have a antique specialist for marble make the piece, Eric the owner wouldn't cover any of the cost. Then I tried one more time to have his guys move several pieces into my new house. Unfortunately again a perfect french wire buffet. PERFECT CONDITION HIS GUYS BROKE THE TOP OFF. Eric came to my house and saw everything I had to move and gave me an estimate. He had moved me before and I was happy with that so I gave him the ok. The movers showed up and right away they said the truck was too small. They tried to contact Eric but he did not respond. I said go ahead and start loading because I had to be out of the rental that day. My stuff did not fit in the truck so they had to get a trailer. Still, I had to leave a lot of my things there, and eventually had to get 800-GotJunk to take it away for $500. Eric charged me for the trailer, increasing the estimate by %100 percent. I am missing things and many things are broken. Do not trust this company. Their estimates are not valid and they do not treat your possessions with respect. read more

I highly recommend this company. I found them on Craigslist and they delivered a few things for me. Once because we had established trust, Eric even paid for something for me, and then I reimbursed him when they delivered the item! Eric is the best part of using this company. He is so warm, so nice and just a pleasure. When I bought a desk that turned out to be alot more damaged than the Craiglist ad showed, Eric advised me on how to get some of my money back and the seller ended up paying me back half the cost of the desk! I used Tana Movers to move my entire office and because the rates were so reasonable I paid them to help pack too. They were timely, nothing got broken, and they were fast too. They had blankets to help protect floors during the piano move. Would perhaps recommend that they carry shoe booties for shoe free households ;) but a very small suggestion. After selling our home of 30 years in Northern NJ, my wife and I were finally able to pursue our dream home in Northern California. When we finally found a house, the next challenge was how to get all of our stuff out of Public Storage in Santa Rosa, and into the house in Oakmont. I was initially somewhat concerned since the estimate was based on an hourly labor rate, (instead of a fixed rate like our cross-country move), but my fears were groundless. I liked Jose and Mario from the moment I first met them promptly at 9:00 at the storage facility. These guys hustled! We found the pricing to be very fair for the services provided My big concern on this move was for a 300# treadmill that we had moved cross the county, and now had to be carried across 100' of hardwood floor and through a few narrow doorways. They REALLY understood that my grandmother's antiques were really special to me and took great care with the items. They were patient with me and my pickiness... LOL. Eric, whom I met with first, is a delight: Personable, organized, great logistics manager, and handled/coordinated the practical aspects of my move. I used these guys 4 years ago and they were great but this time they didnt show up on scheduled day, tried charging double what I was quoted for 1/4 of the load, showed up with smaller truck and one less guy and turned it into two loads, didn't honor discount for being a no show the day prior, and some minor damage was done. Eric handled this situation very poorly, he was condescending, rude, referred to us as "karens and entitled" because I was not happy with his lack of customer service. I feel sorry for his crew working for someone with zero values and treating his customers that way And Putting them in such an uncomfortable situation. I Found these guys on craigslist when we were moving from petaluma to SF. Didn't know what to expect, but it was a great experience. Very affordable and easy to work with. We have super-gnarly-heavy furniture and the guys did not complain or drop it. We have used them again to move from SF to Santa Rosa and had the same great service. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Unprofessional business. I was disappointed. We were quoted $900 but charged close to $1400. I realize $900 was just a quote but that was off $500. Given that moving is always expensive, that was an expense that I didn't count on. Also, they took out the drawers from our dresser and didn't bother to put them back in. It was very easy to get in contact with Eric. He was warm and personable, and it was simple to schedule my move. On the big day, the movers were on time. I packed everything up before they arrived. The 3 movers took a quick look around before they started loading the 16" truck. It was a 2 bedroom apartment, and it took about 2 hours. I was worried they would have difficulty moving things down the twisty staircase outside the apartment, but it was no problem. The unloading process took about 1 hour. Eric seems decent, a kenyan man who drives an late model BMW and seems to be fun to talk to and easy going. I like him. His wife, on the other hand, was really rude and unpleasant(though not at first). His movers were nice mexican men who were hard working and professional. I would avoid Tana movers solely based on my experience with the wife. She was beyond unpleasant and highly unprofessional when asked to explain a situation. I was shocked and her loss of control and inability to communicate on a civil level. I would avoid these movers based on this experience. I feel sorry for Eric, but not really, because he allows this poor performance from her. This will ultimately damage the business. update: i have moved this to 3 stars, instead of two. I really think Eric has the potential to be a great businessman, and I hope he can ensure that people do not feel abused or mistreated when working with them. This company charged my card a $250 deposit, which I authorized, and then I paid the remainder of the balance ($130 plus tip) in cash as requested by the owner, Eric. A week later, they charged an additional $295 on my card, which I did not authorize. As if moving wasn't hard enough I'm now dealing with this nonsense. So I guess he is thinking the 2.15 hours they spent moving me is worth $676 (not including the $100 tip i gave the moving men!). As a professional with many degrees, I wish I made that an hour! Total nightmare for me. I also feel betrayed because I was so happy with the service, even though they were more than an hour late. I hope this gets fixed immediately. Last minute I convinced my husband to get movers and found Tana Movers & Storage. They were able to accommodate our last minute request. The 3 guys were prompt and ready to work. I am still impressed at how fast and efficient they were. I kept trying to offer them water or a break but they wouldn't have it. We will be definitely hiring them again when we have to move from our temporary storage to our new home. Sure they may be cheap and fast but I guess you get what you pay for! They SCRATCHED all three doors of our new stainless steel refrigerator when they tried to force it out the front door after I just told them to be careful as it was a tight fit. They had a huge roll of plastic with them and didn't bother to wrap a thing. I am sure that would have saved the fridge. The doors are $200 a piece to replace and when we asked Eric to split the cost with us he said replacing the doors was a bit drastic. He then offered us $100 cash to try and shut us up and keep our business. We have been trying to file a claim with them but he hasn't responded to us. Don't bother with this company!!! read more
