The guy came out on 12/2/25 to help me with my move to an upstairs 1-bedroom apartment. He was on-time, had his own tools and was very helpful. All in all, it really cut down on the total moving time. He charged me a flat rate of $150.00 for a few hours, and we got the heavier items (my couches, bed, and dressers) up the stairs in a shorter amount of time. They needed to move their truck a few times while loading, our parking lot is a mess, and did so without any issues or complaining. What a beautiful way to start "December"....yes, a move to a new lovely place! What made it even better was the daunting services of Independent Movers! With only a month to move (or risk losing this gorgeous place), it was a week away and I didn't know how I was going to get moved. I checked on Angi's list and called a few people. The three guys who moved us were courteous, efficient, and prepared with masks since it was a 'coronavirus move'. It was a local move (less than 1 mile) and nothing got broken. A very positive experience from start to finish! We moved most of our possessions from a house to a local storage unit for a few months, then to a new home a few hours away. Dave and the crews were very efficient both times, friendly and did an excellent job overall. We hired them to pack everything initially and asked for extra care with some very fragile artwork and pottery. We were concerned because we weren't unpacking anything after it went in storage and couldn't check after the first move. We had one small issue with one box we noticed after the initial pack, but Dave came out promptly and made sure it was corrected. When we did our own unpacking at the final destination months later, all of the artwork was in perfect shape. We had one small plastic accessory on a kitchen appliance that cracked, and they took care of it immediately without question. Dave sent out a wonderful team. They were Covid prepared, their work was clean, efficient, very careful and fun to work with. Price was exactly as quoted. There were no surprises. This is important. Independent doesn't have a bunch of add on costs. They brought wardrobe boxes that we used for free. Protective plastic and blankets we used for free. We asked specifically for insurance to move a Peloton and that cost was exactly as quoted. Also THEY WERE VERY CAREFUL WITH THE PELOTON!!!! I would absolutely contact with them again in the future. I had a difficult move, 2 locations and lots of very heavy things, valuable art and they handled everything with care. They built boxes for my biggest paintings, and did things that were above and beyond . I don't really write reviews anymore but these guys are too good to not. My first impression through email was that they were professional. Answered my questions. Got me booked. And then I didn't hear from them... I started to get nervous no one was going to show up on moving day. The guys were early on moving day. Not early enough that it was an inconvenient. Just that they were on time and got through all the paper work by the time we agreed to start. They get paid by the hour and walked through the estimate. Was reasonable based on my other inquiries. I had three nice guys instead of two because we started late in the morning. THESE GUYS HUSSLE. You'd think they'd lollygag since it's by the hour but that is NOT the case. They had all my boxes and furniture out of my apartment in a blink of an eye. Ignored the fact that I was just laying on the floor trying to get some sleep. Worked around me. Checked in with me to make sure everything that was to be moved was in the truck. Then we got to the new house. The floors were being redone so they had to pack all my stuff into the living room. Didn't miss a beat. Got everything out - arranged in controlled chaos. Talked and joked with me while they were working. Picked up my amazon boxes outside. Complimented me on my packing skills. When it was all said and done I paid 2/3rds of what was estimated. I tipped each guy and got hugs from everyone. I asked my husband if we could keep them. He called the day before to reconfirm. The team showed up right on time and were courteous and professional. I also really appreciated that they did not have a bunch of extra fees on top of their hourly rate. Other places I called would charge hourly, drive time, gas, mileage, charge for any wrap or wardrobe box etc. Independent Movers only charged for their hourly rate for the time plus drive time.
