I had been experiencing pain/ache in arm, elbow, and forearm due to not typing at an ergo set up station. My cousin referred me to Heping Hands for therapy. After 2 visits the pain in my forearm was gone, after 4 more visits I stopped waking up in pain in middle of the night and the shooting pain in my elbow is now a dull ache. Mind you I dealt with this pain for over 6 months so I figure I have a lot of undoing to do. My work station is now ergo set up for me and I will continue to get treatment until I am back to 100%. You get to state what kind of pressure you can handle for message. I have been treated by Tamera, she applies balanced firm, deep pressure on the problem areas. I hope the business reads this review... I will get straight to the point: Clients should always be able to 1. Tell a massage therapist areas they want focused on & request certain parts of the body NOT be worked on and massage therapists are supposed to respect these boundaries 2. A client should be able to undress to their comfort level 3. A client should be able to express if pressure is too much or too little and a massage therapist should respect their requests and adjust accordingly. It took months of calling to be able to even get an appointment here, because they almost never answer the phone and don't return voicemails. I booked a 90 minute session, I said that I wanted extra time on the arms, low back and glutes. That I wanted him to just skip the feet and legs please. I get a lot of sciatic pain due to scoliosis and some other issues in my low back... when I have a new therapist & with all male therapists, I prefer to keep underwear on. I wore a thong which would make it still possible to get my glutes (butt) muscles massaged. Henry insisted I had to be completely nude in order for him to be able to massage my glutes, I said really? because I have had massages for 16 years to manage pain and relieve muscle tension, and no one has ever not been able to do my glutes because of a thong. He kept pressuring that I had to take it off otherwise it would 'mess with his flow'... I was in pain and didn't know how long it would take to get in to be able to see someone else so I just agreed to pull it down the thong to my knees. He didn't do ANYTHING that was flowing moves from the back to the glutes, there was absolutely NO REASON he could not have done the massage he did with my thong on, so it makes me wonder WHY DID HE INSIST I HAVE IT OFF? He worked on the areas of my body I said I wanted him to skip/not touch and hardly spent any time at all on the areas I wanted him to work on- maybe 5 minutes on the areas I said I wanted focused on, yeah he did a great upper back/shoulder massage and I will admit he has some skills about aromatherapy and whatnot, but I will never go back to him because like I said he does not listen to what the clients' wants and needs are, he does not respect clear boundaries and is one of those therapists with a huge ego and poor ethics. Maybe some people would just move on, but as a survivor of childhood sexual abuse (1 in 4 girls in the US and 1 in 10 boys have been victims of abuse by the way) to be put in a situation where someone is pressuring me to have to take off my underwear when it is NOT necessary (trained massage therapists can do glute work with a thong, full underwear or full clothes on over the clothes! it is possible!) I am just so angry at myself that someone conned me into doing something I didn't want to do--- and also massaged parts of my body I did not want touched - legs/feet. I think considering that Henry has already been sued 3 times, he really should consider taking a refresher on appropriate boundaries, respecting clients, ethics. read more

I had a therapeutic massage today with Nancy and she was AMAZING!! I have had massages at several other day spas, but I was so impressed with my experience here from beginning to end. ALL of the staff here are just absolutely so nice and sweet. Just sitting in the waiting area filling out the paperwork, the other employees walking by all smiled and said hi to me. They definitely make you feel welcome here! Nancy started off my appointment by showing me the oils she was going to use, which I appreciated because I wasn't a fan of one of them, so she didn't use that one. Wish I found this place 5 years ago. Wow! This place was such a great find. (Thanks Yelp!) I was in desperate and I mean DESPERATE need of some massage therapy for my neck, shoulders, and back. I called and Carol was so welcoming, kind, and helpful. After asking several questions she concluded that the Cranial Massage would be the best solution for the pain I was experiencing. I was hesitant at first as I didn't think I needed any part of my scalp worked on, but agreed so that I could be seen ASAP. First of all, I am SO thankful that Carol recommended the treatment of a Cranial Massage. I had no clue that you could have knots in your head! My headache was relieved instantly!!! It shows that they truly care about what your needs are and fulfilling them! Secondly, how the massage is only $35 is seriously too-good-to-be-true! That was almost a deterrent for me, like, why is it so cheap?! But, shhhh don't tell them that because I'd like it to stay that way so I can go all the time (maybe that's the explanation right there! ha!) Lastly, HENRY HENRY HENRY. I had my massage with Henry, the miracle-worker/ aromatherapy guru/ muscle genius. I have paid HUNDREDS for the type of massage that Henry provided. I was in HAPPY TEARS from the relief I felt afterwards. He is absolutely amazing and I am counting the days until I have a full 90 minute treatment with him! If you are uncomfortable having a man provide your treatment, know that he is professional, gentle, and very knowledgeable and skilled in his field. I'm a chronic pain patient who requires WEEKLY 90-minute massages. Over the past THREE WEEKS, I've 'requested an appointment' at HHM&A using the Yelp! app MULTIPLE TIMES, and I've used at least THREE OTHER METHODS to initiate contact with HHM&A during that timeframe as well -- at least A DOZEN TIMES total -- just trying to SCHEDULE ONE (weekly) massage there. The problem isn't that they don't have any openings; it's their so-called 'customer service'. They don't respond to (potential new) clients in a helpful, meaningful, timely manner (if/when they respond at all). This is no way to run a business, certainly not one that claims to "Calm the mind, heal the body". read more

I bought the beauty and bliss package a couple weeks ago for my fiancé, and for the services the price was reasonable. However, I would not say this was a five-star experience, according to my fiancé it was just OK. When we arrived I was immediately disappointed with the building itself, it is old and out dated, it is in severe need of a lot of updating. Next, at check-in I was disappointed seeing how on the website it states that if you mention wellness Wednesday you will get 10% off the services and I did not. When I mentioned it to Carol she stated that I already had a discounted package. When I told her that I didn't, I am paying the amount that's listed on the website, she argued with me. Well if that's the case that should be listed just below the offer, I felt like that was a scam. They took my fiancé in and I headed out. When it was all said and done, she felt that the Swedish massage was decent but the foot scrub was painful seeing how the technician was scrubbing the top side of her feet and she had to let her know a couple times that she was in pain. She asked both technicians not to get oil in her hair (during the Swedish massage and the facial) seeing how she was going out right after, but yet both of them did, especially during the facial. She was not convinced the facial technician was very experienced. She also did not like her up-selling tactics on the facial, she just wanted to get what was included in the package and be able to relax and not think about upgrades seeing how it was a gift from me. The technician assured her that the lavender facial was more for somebody with acne and how an upgraded facial would be more beneficial for her. If that's the case then that should not be part of a normal spa package. All-in-all we will not be coming back, we had high hopes for this place and thought that it was going to be our go-to, but unfortunately that was not the case. read more

I went in for my prenatal massage appointment at 24 weeks for 60 minutes and it was pure bliss. Ellen did a wonderful job & was very respectful. She helped with all my issues; from neck to ankle and included a belly massage for my growing stomach. We talked the entire time but she only communicates to those who are willing to converse; it never feels awkward. The bed was perfectly warm & the cushion they use under the sheets was perfect for my pregnant self. They encouraged hydrating yourself afterwards and offered plenty of water bottles. Bathroom was spotless, and they have taken all the right steps to ensure that COVID doesn't spread. So excited for my next visit.
