For years I boycotted Helzberg . . . not because of THEM, but because of me and my bittersweet memories of shopping for engagement rings and then turning my mom onto Helzberg. We are talking circa late '90's! I got a GORGEOUS engagement ring that looked like a big solitaire, but was actually a princess diamond with two trilliants. It has a thick gold band (because of my big fingers). I used to get compliments on it like crazy! I LOVED the ring and it still looks great 23 years later . . . Unfortunately, I got divorced seven years later. My engagement ring will go to my daughter (thankfully I only have one!). Over the years my mom and I have bought many gemstone rings, necklaces, and earrings from Helzberg. We're both very happy with them (still). Recently, I've perused Helzberg's website and have my eye on a few of the Disney (I'm NOT a "Disney person" - go figure) inspired rings, esp the black stone ones. I think Zales and Kay are still the most popular jewelry stores, but I actually rank Helzberg above them. I wonder if Helzberg still has the "I am loved" bears. SO CUTE! read more

Say what you want about Warren Buffet but the Oracle of Omaha knows how to pick 'em. His Helzberg brand is a cut above most chain jewelers. An outstanding selection, warm atmospherics and stellar service punctuate the experience here. No milling around the cases unescorted trying to guess the prices on the tags that are expertly tucked in to avoid detection - you get informed guidance from career associates who know what they're talking about and won't try to upsell you at every turn. For me, the the hike to Deptford is worth it since I can take the time to look without the high pressure gaze that's common at a middle market tin mill like Jared and the other mall crawlers. And post sale, if there's a problem there's no argument. I haven't shopped in any other location, but the Helzberg in Deptford is such a professional pleasure that I don't even mind lining Warren Buffet's pockets. An easy five stars read more

Update- they ordered me a new ring which should arrive in 4 weeks. They unsoldered the portion of the engagement band off my wedding band so I can at least wear that. STAY AWAY - STAY FAR FAR AWAY. On July 31st I brought my wedding band and engagement ring in to be cleaned and inspected as per the terms in the lifetime warranty my husband purchased for them. TWO DAYS LATER my engagement ring cracks on the side and a stone falls out. I panic and go right to the store. They "fix" it and it's returned to me a week later. Well two weeks later a stone on the other side falls out and the band is cracked on that side. I get my ring two days later with the WORST fix job. There were gaps in the band looking like stones were missing and the prongs were giant melted blobs that partially covered the stones. The associate started getting upset that I wanted to talk to the jewler himself and the manager. I was told by her "the jewler doesn't speak with customers". I was getting no where with them. I was disappointed and upset so I left with my wonky looking rings. Here I am ONE month later and woke up with this on my finger. My engagement ring is truly cracked in half. I am so heartbroken.. I refuse to accept another shitty repair. At this point the engagement ring needs to be replaced and I know they are not going to want to do that. Stay away. Buy your beautiful jewelry somewhere else that won't sell you what is clearly junk and gaslight you that the shit repair job looks fine. NEVER AGAIN. I ordered a 14K Yellow Gold initial necklace on 10/5, even paid for expedited shipping. It arrived on 10/9 but it was not the necklace I selected, but rather someone else's order with ALL of their personal information which is even more incompetent on their part. I was told to return the necklace, which I did the very NEXT DAY! The representative, Tasia, was more concerned about me returning the WRONG item THEY sent, rather than getting me what I initially ordered for my best friend's birthday on 10/13. After I assured her I mailed it back and sent tracking, no more communication was had. So here it is, 10/13 MY BEST FRIEND's BIRTHDAY, and no necklace or my money back. I will NEVER order from this company again. They were so worried about covering up their incompetence that they forgot to provide at minimum DECENT customer service to ensure BOTH customers were cared for. So Lorna, in Connecticut, hopefully, they got you your purchase in time and also informed you that your personal information was sent to a stranger! My fiancé & I were really nervous about going into places like this. We were looking for engagement rings & some places push you to get what they want you to get or show you their most expensive rings. But we had one of the best experiences here! Kelly was amazing! She didn't just show us the expensive ones, she showed me everything. Ones that I said I didn't like just for me to be sure. We were even able to go to a little room to see the diamonds more in depth under a technology that you can not see with the naked eye. Of course the bigger, expensive ones were beautiful but we were able to find something that was perfect for ME it was beautiful, perfect, & reasonable. I had been searching for a diamond wedding band. I did a lot of research on what type of cut, metal and style I wanted beforehand because I feel like a jeweler is much like a car dealer and I didn't want to be talked into something I didn't really like or want. My fiancé and I came to Helzberg; I already had a few rings in mind. I showed the sales associate and she took me right to them. She was very nice, easy to talk to, and not pushy at all. She was knowledgable and I really appreciated that. She even recommended having my engagement ring redipped before my wedding (it's a family heirloom and the white gold is starting to wear). I bought my husband's wedding band here (MISTAKE) I also paid for an extended warranty. My husband's ring fell and broke. We took the ring back to Helzberg and were informed they no longer deal with the manufacturer and therefore we were not able to get the same exact ring. It is a wedding band, it has sentimental value. Why would we want to let you keep it and then have to leave with a different one? That is the only way they would honor the warranty. It's not our fault you don't deal with that manufacturer anymore. That is the warranty I purchased, for that specific ring. Needless to say, the ring was not fixed or replaced. The warranty was a complete rip off and Helzberg did NOTHING to try to help us or understand why we were so upset. They just kept trying to sell us a new, expensive band. Fortunately, I was able to find a better jeweler who deals with the same manufacturer and they actually helped us. read more

Talk about invisible, wow! My fiance' and I went into the store to look for specific wedding bands that we saw in their ad. As we walked through the doors, no one greeted us or even looked up as we came in the door. My fiance' and I proceeded to walk around the store looking at the display cases and trying to get someones attention. There were about 5-6 employees helping other customers but not a single one acknowledged our presence or even attempted to get help for us since they were busy. We waited a good 5 minutes and saw one of the tall men employees look straight at us and then look away and still not help us. My fiance' and I walked out annoyed and knew we would never come again even if they gave the jewelry away. Horrible costumer service! The Gold setting Helzburg sells are complete junk. Worse yet the sales person tried to tell us 15 years was the lifespan of gold. After 70 years my grandmothers engagement ring is just fine and my mother wears it everyday. I have read lots of complaints from customers whose stones have been swapped when they take in there jewelry for cleaning. Now they want $1k to replace the setting that feel apart after 15 years. Why so I can buy another setting made of substandard gold and have to replace it in 10 or 15 years. You may be happy with your purchase from Helzburg but I suggest an independent appraisal. read more
