I am absolutely livid. And honestly after the third time enough is enough! My mom has had a credit card here since I was little and I am 48 now. We never had a bad experience ever. I went in and purchased 3 rings and the lifetime warranty for them. Yes, they were on sale. What I pay is none of anyone's business!! I put them on layaway. When I went back to get all 3 rings they had my account mixed with someone in California. The lady even saw my ID so how that happened is beyond me. I finally got it taken care of. I found and purchased a watch. I personally think it's bad practice to sell the display model instead of a new one in the box but figured for the price they wouldn't let me buy a watch with wear on it. They offered to resize it by taking out a link and encouraged me to wear it out of the store. Both of those actions prevented reruns but nobody bothered to disclose that. When I returned home under better lighting I realized there was scuffing from the band rubbing again the watch. The rubbing only occurs when the watch is laid down inside the display case (not when the watch is being worn or when taken off or put on). It was also scratched. I assumed that they would allow me to exchange it with no problem but instead I was told that the issues on it were normal but that they also couldn't sell it to someone else. So basically it was ok to sell it to me like that but not someone else. I really like the people who sold me the watch and planned to do my Christmas shopping there but the store manager refused to do the right thing and allow me to exchange the watch. I'm not a difficult person but when you pay for expensive jewelry, a respectable business will welcome returns when there is an issue. read more

I came in for a repair and the customer service was above and beyond. Julie, the store manager, was very helpful, polite, and concerned. Not to mention I had my 18 month with me and had driven from Tahoe. I was told it would be a 3 hour wait for the repair, but I would have my ring back the same day. I started to walk out happy that my ring would be repaired but disgruntled that I would need to find something to do for the next 3 hours with my toddler. Next thing I know Moe, the jeweler comes out with my ring repaired! I had no wait! The care and diligence of both Julie and Moe's customer service is exceptional. I would give 10 stars if I could. As I was walking through spotted this amazing establishment and couldn't help but give it a shot. From the moment I walked into the store I was the top priority to the staff. With not much to go on they were very helpful and able to narrow down to the best ring that fit my special lady. And to top it off they were very interested and giving ideas about how to propose. Two of my 3 wedding rings (all from the same man, I'll have to add) were bought here. The first one, hubs only chose and procured by himself some 21 years ago. He told me that they were very helpful, especially since he had to order the ring from out of town. After 20 years of marriage, hubs FINALLY gave me another ring for an upgrade. Although we got the diamond from another source, the staff at Helzberg helped us find the setting for it. I knew what I want, but we were in a time crunch. I might or might not have pushed their patience to the limit. But they worked with me, found me the setting and the price I was willing to pay for it, and voila! Mamma got a new ring! I go back every six months or so for a cleaning and tightening up of the setting/diamond. The staff are always friendly and more than accommodating. My wife bought me a very nice Citezen watch for Christmas from Helzberg Diamonds inside the Meadowood Mall. The watch had a defective link in the band, not allowing it to hinge. We took the watch back to the store to have it repaired or replaced. They took it to the back and a short time later brought it back out. The link now hinged but the finish was scratched. I requested a replacement. I was told a new watch would be ordered and shiped from Washington and would arrive on Tuesday. Tuesday came around and no call from Helzberg. I called them and no watch. The same thing on Wednesday and Thursday. Never once did I get a call from them. I called Friday and was told the watch just arrived and is ready for me to come and pick it up. I arrived at the shop and was greeted by the assistant manager. She opened the filing type cabinet in search of the watch. I observed a large, watch type box in the bottom cabinet. There was room for at least two more watch size boxes in the same cabinet. The assistant manager could not seem to find the watch that was supposedly ordered. She left and came back to the cabinet. She located a file folder and removed a watch that was inside a baggy. She handed me the baggy and told me this was my new watch. I removed the watch and observed it to have finger prints all over it and a small scratch on the lense. I asked the assistant manager where the box was. She told me the watch was removed from the box as there was not enough space in the store to store the box with the other inventory. She then took the watch to the back room. I walked to the front display case where I had looked at the same brand and model of watch a week prior. The display watch was gone. I asked a second employee, on the store floor, if the watch I was being given was the display watch. She told me yes it was the display watch. I confronted the assistant manager about the watch, that was supposed to be new, being the display watch. She gave me a ridiculous reason as to why the watch was in the display case. She told me the watch was received today but was put into the display case on accident, which confirmed the lie. After catching her in the lie she immediately told me she was going to get the manager, to which she did. The manager immediately offered me a discount of $50.00. I advised her of the situation and of my findings. The manager joined in on the lie. She told me they had sent the watch I had originally purchased back to Washington and received it back. I told her I brought the watch I originally bought back to the store today. She then told me she had been gone all week and did not know anything about it. The manager then tried to give me a $100.00 gift card for a later purchase. (There will never be a future purchase by me or my family) I told the manager to give me my money back and that I would be buying the watch somewhere else due to their lying and deception. Great, friendly Service. Fun, mirthful sales lady. Would happily buy from her if I were shopping. I went here just to check out the correct color of a supposedly blue Citizen Eco-Drive watch. I'm fond of this watch line in part because the styles are really quite nice for many of them, but also because of their limited environmental footprint (no battery replacement) and the potential for watches that could last me the rest of my life, not to mention the convenience of not dealing with batteries of the watch stopping. They remembered me from the phone and had the watch that I wanted to compare to one I had purchased from ebay (that had a faded watch face compared to the one that they had). They were friendly in comparing and also pointed out some of the other cool watches from Eco-Drive in a sales pitch that didn't feel forced and bemused me a bit. Once I get one Eco-Drive, I should get the one for gold (with the dial on the left side so it doesn't mess with my golf swing), the Sky Hawk for when I'm a pilot, the Diving watch for diving and then I can master land, sea and air. I felt that the saleslady felt me out for my amenability to this discussion and assessed me properly. She then was nice in removing a link from another watch that I had and gave me the link in a plastic bag at no cost. After I left there was no pressure or discomfort, no hard feelings and I just felt good about the whole experience. I'd definitely shop there again. My wife and I used to be happy with Helzberg but lately something is going on with them and the quality of customer service has taken a nose dive. Part of their appeal used to be that if you bought jewelry there, you could upgrade down the road and Helzberg would give you trade in discounts. I bought 2 rings for my wife there a few years ago and around December of last year tried to upgrade to another more expensive ring. Helzberg wouldn't except both rings and would only do trade in discount on one ring. Not a huge deal but come on don't be so stingy. So in February of this year they had a sale and I went and bought my wife the ring she wanted and paid for it in full. She has really small fingers and had to have the ring sized. Helzberg had the ring for a couple of months and called my wife to say the ring was ready. She went to Helzberg to pick up the ring and was told that the prior weekend the sales tax went up and she owed an addition fee. She paid it so she could get the ring from them. How can they charge me retro-actively for sales tax? I don't think that is legal. I called the Manager and explained that I was charged a tax on something that was paid in full a couple of months prior. She agreed that this didn't sound right but had to contact corporate to "see if she could give me my money back". She called the next day and made it right by giving us a restaurant gift card for our trouble but didn't offer to refund our "tax". It just makes me wonder how many other customers are getting "taxed" after they have paid already. I found this to be shady. To top it all off, the ring was not sized correctly and Helzberg currently has it again. Who knows how long it will be there? Come on people be professionals. read more

Multiple attempts to collect a refund due to me from a $1,000+ purchase has prolonged for over 4 months now with only false promises when I visit the store to inquire about it. After reporting my experience with their corporate, within couple of days the store manager Melissa and their regional manager Teresa had reach out to me directly. First of, I was very humbled and appreciative that they apologized for my experience and hear me out, that means a lot because it reflect their company culture is about helping out their customer not the bad experience I encounter. Then they went to further offered me a further discount on possible purchase for my wife. Because I actually have a soft heart for such friendly gesture, I end up purchased a ring for my wife's anniversary at a much higher price than I originally budgeted for. I am very frustrated with the level of service I have received here at Helzberg. The associates answering the phone are nice enough, but the Jeweler apparently closed his shop for an entire week and whoever they have that repairs jewelry orders is a one-man operation I guess. They have had my wedding ring for close to a month, my promise be date was 2 days ago and I still don't have my ring and they're still not exactly sure when I will have it. I was on hold for 20 minutes just trying to get an answer and I still don't have one! Very frustrating! I do not believe I would return to Helzberg Diamonds in the future. We have bought gifts here for my grandmother and other family members in the past because my wedding ring was purchased here but given this last experience I think I will most likely take our business elsewhere or go to another Jeweler for repairs in the future. I remember visiting Helzberg Diamonds with my grandmother when I was young and the staff were always warm and welcoming, more so than other jewlery stores. My grandparents bought their wedding set there and same with my parents, this store was always a family favorite. My fiancé and I are getting married in 9 months and are starting to browse our wedding ring options, so we decided to stop into Helzberg to see what financing options are available, get sized, and browse some rings since I received a card in the mail for a complimentary necklace. Right when we walked into the store, no warm welcome, no smiling staff. The staff seemed rushed and the first woman we were approached by acted as if we weren't worth a second of her time. During our sizing, another woman (seemingly more wealthy than us) asked the woman who was helping us a quick question. The woman helping us had more interest in the other customer than finishing showing us the ring we were interested in. She barely told us anything about the ring we were interested in and then seemed bothered when I asked to view a ring for myself. She pulls out the ring I requested to view and even congratulated us on our engagement but seemed upset when we said we were just looking at options (we're not going to buy the first ring we see, especially since these rings are for a lifetime) and then proceeded to ask us if she can help us with anything else. I hand her the card I got in the mail and she says, "oh! For your birthday!.... or, um, anniversary?..." I must've missed the spot on the card that said "anniversary" but either way, the card was still valid. I purchased a wedding band for a previous engagement 7 years ago that didn't work out... 7 years ago! This woman looks at me with disgust like I have just admitted to cheated on my love on the wedding day. This is the first time I've gotten a card in the mail from them and being so close to my birthday, yes I believed it was for my birthday... my mistake for not fully reading the card, still doesn't justify the associate's actions. She then rudely walks off while mumbling "I'll go get this for you". We are then looking at more rings while waiting and another woman decides to help us, she was amazingly friendly up until we mentioned that we don't want to apply for financing right now since we want to pay off our vehicles first which would be done in a couple months. She then seemed hurried, like our time wasn't worth anything to her either. I found my dream ring at this store for the perfect price, but sadly we will be purchasing our rings elsewhere due to the horrible treatment by the staff. We honestly felt like if we don't look like we have a 6 figure bank account, then we weren't qualified to purchase anything at that store. We went to Zales afterwards and were treated great. The lady explained financing and details of the rings we were interested in... all without us asking. After we told them we weren't going to be financing until later in the year, the woman STILL proceeded to treat us with compassion and told us that when we were ready she would be glad to help us through the whole process. I expect a service promise to be kept when there is an engagement on the line. Helzberg failed to make their promise time for getting a ring sized by 2 days. When we went into the store after going in the day prior we were told that the jeweler wasn't in and there would be a phone call given that night. Yet no phone call was given and when we went in the next day we were told to wait for about a half hour for the jeweler to show up we waited closer to an hour with nobody showing up. Finally after about an hour and fifteen mins he showed up and couldn't find the ring. After finding the ring the store manager came over and told us that the jeweler needed to polish the ring yet we could see the jeweler through the window and he pulled out a hand saw and started sizing the ring. We were bold face lied to by the store manager, it was plain disrespectful and extremely shaming. They did offer a gift card for the 2 day delay but it was not even comparable to the up and down heart rate and blood pressure spikes leading to the high stress that went into getting this engagement ring. This store was terrible at customer service and was extremely good at ignoring someone who just spent approx. 10,000 dollars in their store. read more
