You know, my granddad has been coming to Dr Vakil for the past 15 years for his cancer which is now…read morein full remission. He followed Dr Vakil from his past practice at an oncology center to his current clinic. Many of his patients are my grandpa's age. We still have a few yearly appointments just to check up on things. Because of dr Vakil, my granddad has fought cancer and won his livelihood back. I don't know what else to say besides the fact that I have no words to thank Dr. If tomorrow, my granddad's cancer returned and he didn't want to receive any more treatment for it, unlike most docs, I know dr. Vakil would never ever pressure him to do anything against his will. It's funny because so many of his patients are older who don't use things like yelp.... they are used to doctors back in the day who treated them like human beings. These days, so much medical care is about how much and how quickly doctors can squeeze money out of their patients. Dr Vakil spends at least 30 minutes simply catching up with my granddad and asking him about his life, how he's doing, etc. which to be honest, these days I never ever see doctors give their patients the time of day. His care is only a testament to his 30+ years of experience and more importantly, his integrity and genuine care for his patients.

It is mind boggling how they stay open and treat patients. They are really only open 24 hours a week - and if you need something outside of that timeframe, tough luck! You have to get absurdly lucky when you call the office that you can talk with someone who will actually help you, otherwise they just pass you around and nothing gets done. Lab result has "collection date" why does a patient or family needs to tell her if theres a new lab if dr Reynolds was the one who ordered. Im trying to explain to her that there's a date but she kept on stopping me and told me "she is busy". So rude! They treat me like a new patient at every visit, I cannot get anyone on the phone (except the call center, and they cannot get anyone from the office on the phone either). I have been trying to speak to someone because it seems like my labs from over a month ago were lost. I still do not have results. I called and had to leave a message for a callback. A female called while I was not home and left a voicemail. She spoke so fast I could not understand her. I called back this morning, told the call center I need to speak to the office because my results are missing, they put me on hold for an hour. I could not hold any longer, hung up, called back again and told them to have someone call me. It is now end of day and no one has called me. This is terrible medical care. I am good with my Dr (Hakimeh) but the office/business is an F-. Absolutely terrible. Get it together Optum!

I tried to give them some credits or be patience with them, but not with the kind of service. There were couple appointments they canceled on me without notifications. When I confronted them, they said they called and left me messages. I told them we're in the modern world where we have something called "caller Id" so I didn't see any numbers or messages. Another incident, Just today, I was 5 mins late for my appointment and they refused to see me. I asked them how many minutes consider late and they told me patient can me 10 mins late. I told them well I was only 5 mins late. They said the paperwork they printed out marked 10 mins. I told them the other 5 mins due to them asking me all sort of questions. Even with 10 mins, they should stil can see me since they said the allowed time is 10 mins late. This does not make sense at all. Additionally, they never have the doctor available for paients to visit, only nurse practioners. I paid my insurance for doctor visit, not nurse practioner. They should charge nurse practitioners rate and not doctor rate. My family and friends also have the same issues with this optum facility. They all gave up and found a much better provider. It's now my time to find another provider. VERY DISAPPOINTED AT THIS OPTUM.

Too busy taking her extended maternity leave during the pandemic to even have a functional office, she's never there and doors were locked up. I'm sure so many people did as I did and found somewhere else to go during this time. Next time I came by they're not even there anymore. Don't know if they moved or shut down. The way they let that one MA handle absolutely everything, no wonder she got things fouled up from time to time. I'm astonished that she was able to do as much as she did get right, but they were always understaffed, especially after moving into their new location and keeping the doors locked and not answering phones, even not just for patients but for patient advocates. Couldn't have been worse. One of my last visits I asked what happened to the other girl that used to help you in the old building and was told that she was " no longer with them. Then I saw her walking down the hallway. But then when I asked for clarification, she's working on a "special project ", and can't answer phones. I can't express how little the daughter gave a rat's a$$ about anyone but herself and her own kids. Save your money and time if they're even still in business at another location, look for somewhere else because you deserve better.

I love Dr. Rao and his RN Carol Massey! (Especially Carol)…read more I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in May of 08 and went through all of my after surgery treatment with Dr. Rao and Carol. They were very helpful and down to earth and no matter how many times I called and bugged Carol about something on my mind, she was always very helpful and nice. She also went out of her way to get things to me and work around my schedule. If you ever have to have thyroid cancer, see Dr. Rao and Carol. They'll treat you right!
