I found her on the Torrance Memorial website and took a chance. Best thing I did. From the moment I met her I knew she was the right doctor for me. She is kind, caring, knowledgeable and personable. While I was pregnant, I was uncomfortable and had a few issues but I looked forward to my appointments. After seeing and speaking with her I would leave feeling relaxed and happy. The office staff, Liz (I think that's her name) and Melissa are friendly and remembered me by name every time I walked through the door. Dr Barhaghi was at the hospital for my delivery in a flash and put me at ease. She also came to check on me and meet my baby the next morning. I appreciated seeing her. The appointment felt unprofessional and left me feeling uncomfortable, embarrassed, and unsupported. During the examination, there were unexpected difficulties, and instead of feeling reassured, I felt that Dr. Raza became visibly frustrated. As a patient in a vulnerable situation, that made me feel even more anxious and uncomfortable. At no point did I feel reassured or guided through what was happening. After the exam, I was not given any instructions about whether I should remain in the room or leave once I was dressed, so I waited. While waiting, I overheard Dr. Raza ask the front desk if I had come out, followed by an audible sigh. When I eventually left the exam room, the expressions and interaction between Dr. Raza and the front desk staff gave me the impression that they were laughing at me. After a routine office visit, her staff failed to call and let me know that my BP was high, and Dr. Fluellen called me the following day (Saturday AM), apologizing on their behalf and asking me to go to the ER to get checked out immediately. 2) I'm currently 11 months PP and have been struggling with PP depression; Dr Fluellen and I discussed going on medication, but she gave birth shortly after me, and has been on maternity leave ever since. Another doctor in her practice, Dr. Morikawa, prescribed me an SSRI, but failed to write it for the correct amount or provide me with any refills. I've been without medication for 3 days now, and despite calling the office multiple times, leaving messages on their machine and with their answering service, I've received no response back. At this point, I feel it would negligent to recommend seeing anyone in their practice, since both instances could have resulted in serious health repercussions on my end, and unfortunately I'll be looking for a different doctor to see from now on.

When my wife had to make a trip to the emergency room, we learned that Dr. Dartey had asked for us to be referred to a high-risk OBGYN. This was NEVER communicated to us, either in person, or over the phone. Instead, the ER attendant had to inform us. So today my wife calls the office asking why we were being transferred to another OBGYN and why we weren't informed beforehand. After waiting on the phone for 1.5 hours for Dr. Dartey, the receptionist said "He'll just be a few more minutes," but before my wife could even finish her follow up question, the receptionist hung up on her.
