I asked to not have him be the surgeon doing my emergency c section because his bedside manners were extremely rude and cold. Maybe he was tired or frustrated that I was having a difficult time after begging to be admitted and checked out because something was wrong with my baby. They refusedand sent me home.Then within hours my 6 month old fetus was being taken out. His exact words were "we're not even going to bother with the fetus" If you don't want to die we need to get him out now. No compassion, no consideration. He was 24 weeks gestation and over 500 grams which is California's age of liability. To not even try, even if they weren't successful would have been tremendously appreciated and helpful. There's much more but 4 years later, I'm still traumatized and his demeanor was o with him.I'm glad for them. My son had two deep thumb marks on his head ...I can't even continue. read more

The doctor is amazing, however I don't recommend him because of his office manager. Her name is Marty and she is extremely rude and condescending. My doctor for 25 years . Always made me feel like I could come to him for any thing .He does care deeply for his patients. The staff is fine never had any issues. Took care of me very well. They have never given me an option on time or date for any of my appointments, and made me wait in the waiting room for over an hour my first appointment because they claimed to have never received my medical records from my previous doctor. (Even though my previous doctor's office is very organized and even had an exact date of when everything was sent over.) I have been going to Dr. Rosenberg for 10 years and more. He is an amazing doctor, as well as having an amazing bed side manner! He and Rosemary, nurse practitioner, have provided me with great care, whether it was for a treatment or surgery. He is thorough and truly discusses my healthcare issues and plan. My care through pre and post menopause was outstanding, especially since I was a DVT patient. I had a rollercoaster of a pre-menopausal world, and knowing his beliefs of not having to do a hysterectomy if avoidable, was a relief for me. I have to say Dr. Rosenberg has fantastic bedside manner and is overall a good human being. You can tell that he cares for his patients. He is a great doctor to see if you have an uneventful pregnancy without any complications. If there is a chance you might be at risk for postpartum depression, do not go to this office. He told me one thing, I believed him, then 2 weeks later claimed he said something different. This left part of my PPD to be untreated for a month while I waited to be seen somewhere else. His office staff can be quite chaotic with what seemed like a revolving door of employees. No one communicates with each other. When his office staff gives you his messages they do so in a very harsh tone without an ounce of empathy. They are quite rude if you dare question any part of the message. That office is not a supportive environment for a woman with postpartum depression. read more

This doctor is amazing. Yes his front desk people can be a pain but honestly it has no reflection on the expertise of this doctor. He is truly amazing. He talks fast, he's not all warm or fuzzy but for the scope of what he does, I wouldn't be all warm and fuzzy all the time either. I absolutely love this Dr. I've been seeing him for over 4 years. I did a lot of research, called Little Co of Mary and Torrance Memorial and spoke to a couple of labor and delivery nurses there, since the nurses see first hand how every Dr. works and the decisions they make. I asked who they'd recommend as the best, most knowledgeable, caring OB/GYN and all of them said Dr. Rosenberg without hesitation. Reason for my research & great concern was because I had 2 previous miscarriages at 16 weeks with a different OB/GYN, which could never explain why. Other than, it happens or try again. I couldn't deal with another loss with no explanation. I made a consultation with him and he did an extensive health check before we tried again. Months later, I conceived a 3rd time and at exactly 16 weeks, I started to feel the same symptoms I did with my two previous pregnancies/loses. He called me right in, actually looked into it and came to the conclusion I have incompetent cervix. He did an emergent cerclage and my baby made it to 39 weeks! I delivered a healthy boy! I'm currently pregnant again, he took the preventative measures with an early cerclage at 14 weeks and I'm 20 weeks pregnant now! I agree with the comments on the staff but my greater concern is the care of my unborn and myself, I can bypass the staff. Sometimes you can't have both. My health is more important. read more

I come all the way from Buena Park just to have him deliver both of my children. It was worth the journey. Since my mom is a retired acute hospital nurse, I had her ask nursing colleagues (who work in labor & delivery and maternity ward) for the best obstetrician in the Torrance Memorial medical community. Dr. Rosenberg's name came up numerous times as a very intelligent and skillful doctor. Because of his lengthy medical experience, Dr. Rosenberg is often times called in to oversee a procedure done when other rookie obstetricians might botch up a c-section. He's never in a panic situation because he has ample experience in the field. Nurses have said that about him. Dr. Rosenberg won't put up with any kind of nonsense from absent minded staff nurses when it comes to following his orders. He has very high expectations of the nursing staff. Nurses have a fear and respect for Rosenberg, so they have to be extra carefully attentive to his patients. The nurses who attended to me were excellent in their teamwork and bedside manners. To me, that is a good sign that my newborn baby and I won't be in a precarious situation. Even other doctors seek his care when they are expecting a baby. To me, the fact that another doctor will go under his care is a huge sign that Rosenberg is very good! The other thing that impressed me is that Rosenberg will only refer to the best doctors. He helped me find an outstanding pediatrician for my children. It's the same pediatrician that he takes his own children to for routine medical checkups. He also helped me find an awesome endocrinologist when the lab results confirmed that I had gestational diabetes with baby #2. From my experience, I had a very smooth pregnancy and L&D both times, from beginning to end. I recovered smoothly and quickly after I delivered both my children in 2010 and then again in 2011. (My kids are 17 months apart.) While he is generous to give copies of ultra-sound pictures from a new fetal monitor, he does not have that newfangled 3-D ultrasound imaging that other doctors offer for their patients. (I didn't really care for the 3-D images anyway. I think it's just a marketing tool some doctors use to attract more patients to spend extra money, or at least charge the insurance company. It's probably more of a sentimental souvenir than a tool to collect medical data.) He's a great doctor and I'm so glad he's a part of the Torrance medical community. Dr. Rosenberg has a tough schedule, because he has a lot of patients under his care. Mary is his a long-time nurse practitioner who is just as awesome and sweet hearted. His office staff may seem frigid, but it's because they are really busy. I like the office staff too, because they're prompt about processing my documents and answering questionss related to my insurance. Dr. Rosenberg tends to talk very fast, but he'll answer every single question you have. If you have a tendency to have preggo-amnesia like me, I suggest that you write down your inquiries, no matter how embarrasing, before every appointment. Jot notes down while Rosenberg is talking, or bring your husband in there so you have an extra pair of ears that can absorb the information that gives. The best thing about my prenatal appointments is that I really love looking at his giantic hallway bulletin board. Over the years previous patients have sent him photo card birth announcements of the beautiful babies who Dr. Rosenberg has delivered. It's quite amazing to see how he has delivered babies by the hundreds! He has asked me for my children's birth announcements, but I keep forgetting to bring it to add to his collection! read more

Wow! I was a little apprehensive about meeting Dr. Rosenberg because of some of the negative remarks about his staff but as a mother of a 2 year old that gave birth via C Section I wanted an experienced and caring physician to guide me through my next pregnancy, I wasn't as concerned about reception as much as I was interested in finding a quality care giver. I'm in family planning mode and just moved to CA so of course it's hard leaving your trusted doctors behind and finding a new one. However, I can't thank Yelp enough for helping me find this man! He was wonderful! So gentle, so caring and had that old fashioned bedside manner that I seldom experience anymore from doctors. He actually took me into his office and sat down with me before my physical exam. He took his time reviewing my chart with me! He asked questions, we joked around and we shared things in common like being from Florida! He listened to me and my needs. He even expressed to me that he believes every woman should have a say in how she gives birth since it's her body after all, he told me he would support me if I wanted to try a VBAC instead of another C Section but said he's fine with whatever I decide and has a staff that can support and assist either way. AVOID AT ALL COST. Upon looking for an OB GYN to deliver my second child I came across Dr Steven Rosenberg. After thoroughly diving into reviews I saw quite a few in regards to the staff being rude etc., but I had came across reviews that the dr himself was great so I gave this clinic a chance. The amount of stress that was caused by dealing with this dr's office was beyond unbelievable. Upon having a very hard time during my pregnancy I received nothing but rude remarks from the receptionist whom I believe is named Alicia such as she would ask me how I was feeling after a visit and I was would tell her which I didn't need to but just to make conversation I told her I was having a hard time and a few of my symptoms and she knew I was not getting any better because I had been calling often to get seen. She proceeded to state in a rude way "oh really? I have never heard of that in all my years I have worked here." Ok.... ? After not being able to stand the lack of professionalism and the non attentiveness to my health I decided to switch providers it was ridiculous to have to pay for them to fill out medical leave paperwork every 2 weeks even though it was clear I was not getting better! I called to have my medical records released & to no surprise they wanted to CHARGE me for that too, Alicia hung up on me 3 seperate times as soon as I would give my name so I had to go into the office to actually address the fact that I wanted my records transferred, she was even more rude in person to both myself and my mother in law who accompanied me!!! To top it off it tooo her a full week to transfer my records even though my new dr was literally in the building across from theirs and had called her multiple times to have her simply fax them over. Thankfully I left and am now with an excellent ob gyn who never charged me for putting me on leave, never hung up on me, and clearly cares for my health as well as that of my child. If you can avoid this dr please do, you will be thankful you did. I rarely write reviews. This review has nothing to do with the doctor, but for his office staff, in particular, Marty. She is rude, abrasive, and completely unprofessional. The last time I spoke with her, towards the end of the conversation, I asked her for her name, as I did not care for her tone or attitude. She hung up on me. I called back and again asked for her name. I told her that I found her behavior (hanging up on a patient) to be rude. She responded with, "You're the rude one." In my profession, I cannot imagine EVER responding to a client in that manner. Unfathomable. I'm sure this doctor is fine, but I will not go back to him because my experience with his staff has been awful. Just awful. People that have difficulty communicating with the general public should not be employed in an environment in which they have to interact with other human beings. read more

IF YOU NEED TO CRY AND FEELING VERY SAD THIS IS THE PLACE !!!! The lady Alice is the most monster person that I met in my whole life. She made me cry and nobody did nothing and also any cups of water. She made my appointment 2 year ago and when I arrived at the office she said that I don't have appeared and also "today" the doctor doesn't work. She also said that probably I can't understand the correct day ( because I don't speak a perfect english ). I had my baby with other doctor because I understood that this place is not for me. Today, 2 years later I looking for a new doctor and I found this place with very good reviews. I made my appointment and I was very happy. When I opened the door I remember that I was there last time. For my SURPRISE again this happened. It is like a nightmare. Is this a joke? I tell her : you know this is the second time you guys do this with me. I made this appointment and my husband call here few days ago to confirm and you guys confirmed. I can't believe that this happened again. She said : "you never make any appointment here. "Go to the other office " "I never made mistakes" " Probably you call to a different office" " I'm working here for 23 years" " Go away" And after all I'm start to cry and ask her we she so rude with me? ( I'm pregnant ) And she start to scream with me, yes my English is not good but you read correctly. SHE SCREAM yelled at me saying it was MY FAULT. My review is a little late but I've been so traumatic took me till now to post this !!!! FYI get someone else!!!!! Dr. Rosenberg is very dismissive and almost cost my daughters life. She is alive and well, no thanks to him. My story starts 2013 I moved back to South Bay after being out of the country I needed an OBG and I yelped doctors. And like you I saw there were many good reviews on the list! And that's why I went to him. But be careful especially if you are delivering around Christmas time. Or holiday Which is what happen to me. My birth experience was traumatizing, yes it's true he didn't deliver my baby, but I blame him for my delivery experience. I wanted a natural labor experience, and he had agreed with me. On one of my last visits before giving birth I asked him about the baby, I had concerns about the baby and not moving her arms and if she could possibly have her umbilical cord rapped around her neck. His response and I quote "it doesn't matter we will take care of it at delivery" and said he wouldn't tell me even if she was tangled, all I would do is worry. But I think I had the right to know! That would be portent information! Because if I knew this I would have opted for C-section! There are many times I would go in and leave feeling wow he is so insensitive and not making me feel like I can trust him at time of delivery that he would keep me informed. So impersonal he barely even took time to explain what I was looking at when I had a sonogram. His comments what he makes seem as light and joking are really belittling. I will never forget what he told me after I had my daughter and he finally was back from vacation he failed to tell me he was going on !!!!when he induced me and left basically telling me to go in following Monday to deliver, when it was convenient for him. !!!!Basically when he was back from his holiday! Very unprofessional to not make your patient aware that he might be out of town! If I would have waited like he said I'm sure my daughter would NOY be ALIVE today. !!!!But I digress ... And I quote " he said.. "She is alive! " isn't she?? What kind of insensitive jerk tell their patient who witnessed their new born being resuscitate twice that? Basically telling me to stop complaining. That was his visit. He walked in took one look at her and said that to me! My episiotomy was a completely disaster!!! Yes, again he didn't deliver because he wasn't there! And didn't want to deliver because he was going on vacation, that Friday so he sent med home. 17 weeks post op and it's still healing. I'm with a new OBG because dr Rosenberg told me everything was fine And I knew it wasn't ! When bright yellow discharge comes out you know that's not normal! So I insisted on him seeing me 2 weeks post op he told me at the dr visit "that's what you get for not waiting of me to deliver" REALLY !!! That's what your going to tell your patient that suffered a traumatic birth and bad episiotomy! I took note throughout my visits because I wanted to worn women about this Dr Rosenberg! In my opinion he is a DB! But I will let you guys have your own experience! Maybe I just had a bad experience. But just not worth it, to me to let someone go through what went through! It took me a long time to write this review mainly because Its to traumatic to relive it. Wish you all good luck! I like Dr Roseberg- and find him very knowledgeble - And that is why its hard for me to give him only 3 stars - but I really dislike calling his office for an appt, I feel like I have to call several times before they return any of my calls or even answers the phone - and when you complain - instead of apologizing like they are suppose to for not calling back - they GET RUDE & make stupid excuses - I understand that everyone gets busy but not returning a call for several days is just not acceptable. First of all, I hate dealing with the front desk people esp the manager, Mardi is very unprofessional. She has no clue what is going on in the office and she is a manager? Wow! This lady is very rude all the time. Why is she working there if she can't do her job?! When the office is closed, I would leave voice mails and nobody checks it. I would fax important papers over and no one checks it. So, does Dr. Rosenberg need a new staff. Clearly, he is paying them for no reason, just to sit on their butts. Please update your staff Doc. If I was ok with having a male doctor, I would consider requesting him. He explained everything me to regarding the procedure I had to have which made me feel at ease until I was sedated. He did not wait until I was comfortable before beginning the procedure. And my follow up appointment was too quick for my liking. Besides this minor issue, my main reason for not wanting to return is their billing. While my procedure appointment was an emergency, they should've done better at reviewing my benefits as I was charged a $100 cash co pay but it is 100% covered by my insurance. I have FSA and was not able to submit a reimbursement. I had to wait over 2 months for the claim to be submitted completely to my insurance company because they did not submit all of the proper paperwork. My procedure was in the middle of March and I just received my refund in the middle of June that I had to call and inquire about. Marty proceeded to give a slight attitude when I asked when the payment would be mailed out and I had to explain to her that I have been waiting 3 months for my money for an appointment that I should not have had to pay anything for and your office did not sub it the claim properly. With more companies offering FSA, this would be helpful to be the only acceptable form of credit card payments. read more

We would absolutely recommend Dr. Rosenberg as your OB/GYN. My wife and I saw 2 other OB's prior to him and they were lousy in comparison. He was very thorough and honest from the beginning. Dr. Rosenberg is very knowledgeable and caring. He also takes great pride in helping his patients. If you happened to get frustrated by the wait times at the office, keep in mind that he goes back and forth to the hospital for emergency situations. Not only is Dr.Rosenberg a smart and honest Doctor, he is a great surgeon. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful to us. I know that some people just have had a rough day and sometimes there is more going on than just what you see- however I also know that multiple accounts of a certain behavior are how I judge who a person really is. This review is based on several accounts (different visits) with this office. I had an appointment and Dr. Rosenberg showed up 45 minutes late, no one ever apologized to me. Mardi or Marty not really sure how she spells it- was very rude to me and she took a while to even acknowledge my presence in the waiting room while I was the only one there and first appointment of the day. The doctor himself was very nice, but the help staff seem to be clueless. They did not believe me when I told them my blood type and made me get unnecessary blood work at my own expense to confirm what I had already told them. They are impossible to reach during the day- out of the 20 or so phone calls they have only picked up the phone TWICE and these were all made during business hours. I don't think they have a "call waiting" capability because if they don't pick up it sends you straight to voicemail. In my opinion - If you do not know how a medication/injection works or what the medication is for and can explain to the client what medication they are putting in their mouth or what the injection is for- you should NOT be giving it!!!! Simple medicine!!! This helper injected something into my arm and was not able to tell me what it was for, and majority of it dripped down my arm and I still got charged $300 for it. I was, needless to say, extremely upset by that. I was also told my procedure would be a flat rate, and now here I am one month later with bills piling up from the lab for things I did not authorize. I would never advise anyone to even waste your time here, unless he is already your personal OB and you are okay with incompetent staff. read more

He's always up to date with the latest news/procedures, his office is equipped with all that is necessary, he gets to know you, and he listens. He delivered two of my three children and was adept enough to recognize the major "F-up" another obstetrician made at Miller Children's Hospital in Long Beach made when they delivered my 2nd daughter. Unfortunately, we weren't able to have Dr Rosenberg deliver her because of "HMO" reasons at the time. Big mistake. Fortunately she and my wife are fully recovered and doing great!
