We stopped here after a morning at Aikman. My daughter had a pancake and bacon. My husband had the friend chicken which was fresh as they warned us that it would take 30 minutes. I got the fried fish was tasty too. My daughter's food came out first and they brought it right away so that she didn't have to wait. The rest came out hot when ready. Our waitress was awesome and super friendly. I would recommend this place as it was quick and good.

Breaded tenderloin sandwich (may not be the biggest but really has to be one of the best) with fries and a side of sausage gravy

We stopped at this little restaurant for lunch on the way back from Aikman's wildlife adventure with the kids. Really cute little old fashioned diner with a very welcoming and friendly staff. My husband had the breaded tenderloin and I had a hamburger, both were absolutely delicious- so fresh and the patties were made in-house and sourced from a local meat market. Really glad we stopped in here, great little mom and pop breakfast/lunch place. Cute little gift shop by the register as well. Will definitely stop in again next time we're out this way! Thanks for a great meal!

Good ole fashioned home cookin!! Hubby & I stopped here on the way home from a camping trip in Shelbyville- and I'm so glad we did!! I had the French toast (which was perfect) along with bacon, eggs, and potatoes! Everything was delicious!! Our server was quick and attentive, even though they were pretty busy on a Sunday morning!! I will definitely keep this place in mind next time we are in the area :)

This is right off I-57 in Arcola Illinois. The place needs some TLC, but don't let that stop you. Excellent home made food and plenty of it! We had pot roast & the ham & turkey club. Both were $7-$8 each. Also had a cup of the beef vegetable soup, good ol' comfort food!

Country boy breakfast... had biscuits n gravy with it ! Yum!

One of my faves at Shae's is their fish bite platter. Two sides. Green beans and tater tots. Yum! lol Their cheese curds and other appetizers are very good too Salads and sandwiches to choose from. I'm going to order a 12-inch pizza to take home. I've ordered it once before, at the party mentioned above. If a 12" pizza is too much for you, you can get a smaller pie, but the thin crust starts @ 12" size. So I happily shared mine around. All those people loved it also! They have a Taco Tuesday and other specials. I definitely recommend going in and making you and your friends/family comfortable, whether it's to watch various sports on the LARGE tvs or relaxing with a nice meal. Take out is welcomed, and 3rd party deliveries will bring it to you if tonight is giving stay at home vibes. Enjoy!

I am keeping my rating at one star because I don't know if I will ever trust their food again, but I want to thank the person I spoke with at the bar for her kindness and understanding. I will still go back for a drink, but ordering food is out of the question.

We were taken to a booth and the seats and table were wet from the quick wipe it had just been given. It wasn't just wet, there were also lots of crumbs that had been left behind. As I looked around, I noticed that the floors were littered with trash and food also. Straw wrappers, napkins and bits of food were present under each and every table. I understand that during a busy rush, the staff probably can't take the time to sweep, but even after the rush nobody bothered to address it. There was a gentleman bussing tables who stayed "on patrol", though. He circled the dining room at regular intervals and made sure that dishes were cleared in a timely manner. I see you, sir! We were greeted right away and our drink orders were taken. That young lady was very kind and upbeat, which was quite welcoming. When she returned with our beverages, she offered to take our orders, but we weren't ready. And just like that, she ditched us! J/K, but kind of for real. A different waitress appeared and took over from there. She was efficient and took good care of us, but in a way, she wasn't as warm. She was no-nonsense and straight to the point. Our food was decent. My husband had The Special, which is a basic breakfast plate (eggs, French toast and bacon), I had the turkey club with fries, and my in-laws both had phily steak sandwiches with fries. The food didn't come out super fast, but that gave us time to settle-in and not feel rushed. It was quite nice and a change from what my husband and I are accustomed to where we live. We had a leisurely meal and caught up with old friends who wandered in and out during our meal. That was another clear sign that this place is a local favorite.
