The staff was super friendly and did all the preliminary work in gathering records from LA Vet, etc.

Dr. Surbur is very thorough and actually caught a rare clotting disorder that one of my dogs had simply because she was paying careful attention and noticed that my dog had a little bleeding around her gums. One time I had an after hours emergency and she met me at her office at night and took x-rays of my dog and helped me to make the decision to take him to Texas A & M for further care. While we were in College Station she called me a couple of times and checked on my dog and when he eventually died (not her fault, he had a congenital defect) she sent me a lovely gift to remember him by. Her office staff is excellent and it is easy to get convenient appointment times.

The last time I took her she was getting her hair shaved because of her matted and tangled hair. She's a Himalayan mix with Persian so naturally these type of cats are beautiful but require alot of brushing and sometimes I've had to take her to get shaved and sometimes if I'm lucky just shave her mats. This time she definitely needed a complete shave. Dr Pippin explained her sedation to me because I was a little nervous because of her age . She will be 16 in a couple of weeks. Dr Pippin has always explains what he's doing and if I have any questions. I left and I decided to take a little nap before picking her up. I woke up late and realized the clinic had called twice and I looked at my phone it was 5:45;pm.I called and apologized. They told me it's OK because things happen. Wow how nice is that. I rushed to get Mysti and thanked them for being so nice. It's also affordable too.

She's older than we expected but Hewitt Veterinary hospital was more thorough than other vets we seek help from. Which she's also perfectly fine now! I will continue taking all my cats here. My cats also love them! They're not fans of other vet offices but they're all comfortable here as well as my husband & I with their care! They love my two kittens with their whole heart and spend plenty of time with them to make sure they find the correct treatment. They always find a way to fit you in if you have an emergency as well! My male kitten had a fall from a tree and had hyphema on his iris, they got me in the same day and spent a significant amount of time making sure he was okay, also gave him lots of love and treats! I've been told they are already closed (five minutes before closing time, and the girls working had all already gotten off their computers and were clearly closing early and didn't want to do their jobs), and I've been told the medicine was re-stocked already within a few days of ordering it. terrible customer service, lazy employees, and the QR code they gave me to order the medicine takes you to a 404 bad gateway page, so terrible IT set up.

My husband and I are faithful customers here, or were…read more There have been multiple situations where this Veterinary clinic had the opportunity to show that they were conscious and caring about the money we're spending and the care they're giving. They've failed on multiple occasions. My dog had a lump appear within 2 days, I stopped in on a whim, the Vet had no appointments and was wandering around hap hazardly, so I asked if she could feel the lump and tell me her opinion. No, I have to set up an appointment, and pay 45 bucks. Which I did. She felt the lump, did nothing else. and said give her some steroids. (which are known to be very hard on animals....) Oh, ok. I guess heres 45 bucks that it took me 6 hours to earn at my cheap ass job. Thanks so much for that. Our last instance we brought dog in, just for a check. The entire appointment ran us 200.00 + dollars. 3 different types of medications (only one of which we used.) and a blood panel. They gave me pain meds for my dog! com'mon! (and a mouth wash @13.00$$) I refuse to attend this clinic again, they will only (even with some resistance) try to charge you as much as they can get from you. Yes, they are capable - but so are many many other vets that will take YOU and not just themselves and their winter vacation costs into consideration. I'm VERY disappointed in you Emersons Veterinary Hospital.

I loved to see that there is a separate entrance for dogs and for cats. The staff behind the counter was very friendly and I already had my paperwork done since the new patient forms are on their website. They did not mind that my dog wants to put her front paws on the counter to say hello. Everyone involved was very sweet to my scared pup. They petted her and spoke softly while they held her for her shots. The doctor saw us on time and we were in and out in a flash. Dr. Emerson answered all of my questions and even anticipated some before I thought them up. The only "negative" I have is that they didn't tell me to wait to get her heartworm results before giving her preventative meds. (Partially my fault) Also, their website is difficult to navigate so it can be hard to find the information you need. Things to know: They do check ups, spaying/neutering, washing, etc. They see almost every pet you can imagine! Dogs, cats, reptiles, rabbits, pigs, birds, etc. They are fair priced. Not so cheap that you wonder if they even have a license but not so expensive that you know that they are only in it for the money. They take cash, check, and all major credit cards. I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day (annual check-up).
