She's super hip, a great listener, and clearly passionate about her craft, which translates into no tears or trauma for a haircut. While I was there with my son, Sonja graciously fit me in for a bang trim, even though she's not my regular stylist. My son said the finished results looked way better than my normal cut. Since the Covid-19 pandemic began I've done little more than go to the grocery store. But one look in the mirror and it was clear that 4 months of lockdown was about all my hair could take. So when Savanna texted to say they were again doing haircuts at Hendrix I knew it was time to brave it and get to the salon for a return to my pre-pandemic self. I'm proud to report that not only am I sporting a stylish and renewed look but I have conquered my fear of post-lockdown salon life. Hendrix salon did an amazing job of implementing the required health department safety protocols and I could not have felt more safe. The salon layout is perfectly suited for distancing and with french doors that allow great ventilation. Customers are able to sit outside in the doorway of the french doors (in front of a mirror) while Savanna stands indoors during the cut. Now about Savanna... I work in a style related field and have worked with my fair share of top stylists over the years...which makes me extra scrutinizing. I have been on what seems like an endless search for a color and cut team in Bay Area... and it looks like my search is finally over. Savanna is really talented! She does a fantastic job of keeping my hairstyle current, does careful precise work and knows just the perfect style. She's also smart and fun and which is important (at least to me) when I'm in the chair for 45+ mins. And it's a huge plus that she works alongside salon owner Maya who is truly a master colorist; the best I have worked with in Northern California. They are really both so awesome. I just want to give a major shout out to Maya and her team at Hendrix Salon for creating such a safe and sanitary environment during the times of Covid. I was a little nervous to go to a salon because our family has been exclusively sheltering in place but I felt immediately better after booking and receiving their updated safety protocols. Masks are required for all, there's a temperature check before entering, all stations are very far apart, hand sanitizer is everywhere and several of the stations are mostly outdoors due to the large open windows and doors that allow lots of fresh air to flow into the bright and open space.
