It was my first time here and ordering is kind of confusing. We came around 11 am and wanted breakfast sandwiches. There are basically 3 separate lines - one for sandwiches, another for pastries/cakes and to pay. We were greeted once it was our turn for the sandwich line. I opted for the egg and cheese on gluten free bread. My hubby got a chicken sausage, egg and cheese on an everything bagel. The egg is definitely not fresh, and made from a carton, so it was okay. We watched as our sandwiches were getting made and were ready within 5 minutes. We then proceeded to the check out line where we can place drink orders. I got a decaf latte with almond milk (but the cashier didn't hear me say almond milk so ended up getting whole milk and my tummy was not happy about it afterwards). This would ordinarily be a 3.5 star review, but I must give them four stars because they've been around since 1929 and it remains family owned. I love their egg salad sandwich on white bread with spicy mustard and extra pickles. My lovely bride likes their chicken salad on a croissant. The pastries are average, but their cinnamon rolls and black & white cookies are pretty good. Service is always fast and friendly. The ambiance is your basic busy bakery. Not only is the food from sandwiches to dessert amazing, but the people there are so passionate about what they do. 4 years ago, I reached out to the Sandy Springs location about partnering for events that the Kory Foundation Inc, started in memory of my son was having at Scottish Rite Children's Hospital for the patients and families. With no hesitation they gave full support with sack lunches. My team and the parents loved the sandwiches and cookies. My board members had already stated before the event their favorite items, little did I know, the potato salad would take me to another world. She skimped on the mayo, lettuce, tomato and completely forgot the onion.. the "cheddar" was just a processed slice of American cheese. The bread was stale.. The coconut cake is one of the best. The cake is a butter cake with density and firmness without being dry. They are over the top with the amount of coconut. The frosting is also well flavored with coconut. Only thing I would do to make it better is maybe a small amount of coconut milk on the cakes before assembly. BEAUTIFUL BABY SHOWER CAKE + SUPER KIND STAFF! Last weekend, I was in town to help celebrate a sweet baby gal coming into the world. My girlfriends who are locals chose Henri's Bakery & Deli for the cake. We had ordered on the phone, so I was simply tasked with picking it up. Upon arrival, the deli was very busy. The sandwiches looked fantastic, but I was more mesmerized by the amazing pastries on display! It seemed like the perfect spot to grab a coffee and sweet treat with a friend. After waiting my turn, the gentleman behind the counter ran off to grab our cake. He brought it out in a big box and proceeded to open it to double check it was as ordered. IT WAS! It came out absolutely perfect with cute lil' pink booties on top! We sealed the box back up and I headed out only to be stopped halfway to car by a "Ma'am Ma'am wait..." I turned to a darling employee racing to catch me to give me direct instructions on how to travel with the cake. It was a two tiered cake so we needed to be careful. Think twice before purchasing any bakery items from the case!! First ordered petite fours and bit into the first one! It was completely dried out! The lady on the counter was nice enough to get me two more from a rack that supposedly had petite fours baked today and they were not any better!! Swapped them out for the thumbprint cookie which wasn't any better! The lady did mention that they were working some issues out with baking!! I've been an Henri's customer for nearly 6 decades and eat at the Buckhead and Marrietta Blvd locations about once a week and i order the same turkey on onion bread almost every time. It's my go to....or at least it was. The last 4 or 5 times I've visited, including today, the amount of meat on the sandwich is about half what it used to be. Not sure anyone else is noticing. I finally said something to the sandwich counter today and showed them my sandwich. The guy just shrugged and blew me off. C'mon Henri's....your most loyal customers are noticing the cuts. Figure it out. All you have to do is make the same quality products you always have and you'll keep your most valuable and loyal customer....otherwise, there are other delis and bakery's. After all the hype I've been seeing on social media, I was excited to check out Henri's after lunch for some sweet desserts. The dessert selection was a little sparse but I still found some desserts to try! I got two macarons, a petit four and a Napoleon. The petit four was super cute and festive for Valentine's Day, which is why it was a must! The macarons flavors I chose were unintentionally yellow and brown in colors - not the prettiest combination, mind you, and I don't think they were the freshest. They weren't bad but also weren't mind blowing. The petit four was very sweet but nice and moist underneath the sugary sweet icing. The Napoleon was probably my favorite - not too sweet but it was a little dry underneath all the flaky mess! Maybe the pastries weren't as fresh since we got here in the mid-afternoon. But I've also heard good things about their cafe food so I may need to check it out next time I'm near a Henri's again for lunch! read more

Do not recommend. But I'm from metro NY and a world traveler so my culinary experience is affected by that. They should've perfected their first location before opening a bunch of locations to offer meh food, which Atlanta is full of. Service was friendly at least. 90 years???!!! And this is the best they can do?! Sandwich tastes like average sub shop or supermarket deli fare. No table service. Limited outdoor seating. Couldn't sit outside because only open seating was a table which had disgusting looking spilled food from prior guests on table and ground. Clean your own dirty table after waiting on two lines to get food. Bakery item tasted like it was from the supermarket as well, even generic packaged food. Like the thought behind it seemed to be that if it's sickly sweet like a donut, then that's all there is to baking quality desserts. Yup. I'm not in Europe on vacation any more. I'm back in Atlanta where restaurants can serve food that tastes like it's from the supermarket or an office building lunch joint at best, but somehow get stellar ratings. ‍ Now someone is cleaning tables, but I sat down 15 min ago. Was I to wait? Overloading my sandwich with food didn't make the food better. This is the typical American stuff your face thing. I would rather have had a smaller potion of truly delicious and more unique food. Like a bread that tasted like fresh bakery bread rather than bread competing with Subway, which to me tasted like it could've been baked yesterday. I tried this bakery for the very first time and Oh Boy, Im in love with those short bread cookies! There's both indoor and outdoor balcony/patio that's perfect for hanging out with friends while sipping on their creamy hot chocolate... I dipped the short bread cookies in the hot chocolate and it was A-MM-A-Z-ING!!!! I'm definitely going back there for the beef pastrami sandwich with egg and cheese... There's so much holiday vibes in this place, that I feel like going there every other day- highly recommend it. There's a lot of parking spaces right outside of the bakery, so don't worry about street parking or paid parking. Sweet staff to match the sweet treats! I wanted to surprise my massage therapist with his favorite oatmeal raisin cookies for Christmas. I didn't just want to go to a basic grocery store bakery, so I typed "bakery" in my phone's GPS and Henri's Bakery was listed as an option. I pulled up to this cute spot and was delighted with the many baked good options. The verdict is still out on the taste, but I'll be sure to ask him if he gives his oatmeal raisin cookies a thumbs up or down. Through the year, I've bought many cakes from henri's, especially for the holidays, I always buy cakes from henri's. I picked up my carrot cake November 27 on Wednesday for Thanksgiving dessert. This must've been a six day old cake. The icing was hard. The cake was dried up. You could just peel the icing off the side of the cake. I brought the cake as a guest to a Thanksgiving dinner I was invited to, and I bragged on the bakery all through the afternoon, and as soon as the cake was cut, I could tell that I had been given a dud. read more

I just recently moved to this area and was walking my dog this Saturday morning and happened to come by this bakery. I opened the door to the bakery and my first inquiry was are dogs allowed inside. Two employees and someone I'm assuming was the manager all stated yes. I wish I had gotten the managers name because she was extremely sweet and helpful. I chose a few items from the bakery and then made my way to the breakfast sandwich bar where i was greeted warmly by the two younger men working the deli, but when it came to the older gentleman he asked me if my dog was a service animal. I told him no and he stated that she is not allowed inside and asked me to wait outside while he made my order.... This was very confusing to me as I was just told dogs are allowed and who I am assuming to be the manager spoke up as well and stated that she said I can come inside. He proceeded to argue with the manager and wave his finger at her and stated you are not the owner and dogs are not allowed. Even as I was walking away from the deli he was speaking very rudely to the manager. This made me very uncomfortable as he was extremely rude during this interaction and asking a customer to wait outside after already being told you could enter is extremely unprofessional and made me really uncomfortable. It was also extremely cold out this morning it was 45 degrees and he asked me to wait outside.... I will say the breakfast sandwich was good and the bakery is adorable! I also ordered a few sweet treats for my family as I was excited to show them the new gem I discovered. Unfortunately, I do not believe I will be coming back here nor will I be recommending it due to the customer service experience I had with that deli member. The deli member was an older Hispanic man and I wish I had gotten his name. If I do come back it will only be because of the sweet manager who tried to smooth things over after the interaction with the man at the deli. Again I wish I had gotten her name, but she was a nice Asian lady and she was taking out the bakery items for the day. As a dog owner I know animals are not allowed everywhere and if I was told at the entrance when I inquired about the policy I would have gladly taken my dog home and returned back to the bakery without her. However there is a way to go about reprimanding someone in a professional manner and unfortunately that mark was missed during this interaction. Henri's closes at 5:00. We arrived right after 4:00. It was clear we were not welcome: the floor was being washed & the workers were disinterested in our presence. My wife got a salad that had soggy breadcrumbs, & I got a quiche whose quality rivaled the fine food of a gas station. Want some sweet tea? Pour it yourself from a jug. Henri's is better at desserts than main courses. That said, I do like their French dip (although I didn't dare order it after the worker at the sandwich station shot daggers at me when we walked in). My wife adores their thumbprint shortbread cookies. We've been to the new Henri's in Brookhaven a few times, where the service is much better. If we feel like going back to Henri's in the future, we'll skip the Buckhead shop & go to Brookhaven. read more

Accidentally ordered pickup from their Sandy Springs location and only realized my mistake once I'd walked 10 mins from my office to the Buckhead location. Even though they were slammed with the lunch rush, two of the employees (who I didn't catch the name of, but y'all are great) made two sandwiches on the fly for me and told me that I didn't need to pay because they'd call the other store and let them know. But henri's is the perfect combination of deliciousness + friendly prices. Let me try to list everything I've tried from here so far: chocolate/regular short bread cookies, chocolate bomb, flourless chocolate cake, Italian cake, Russian cake, chocolate chip cookie, black and white cookie, chocolate/vanilla petit fours. Henri's is located near the Buckhead bars and has a private parking lot. There are two entrances, one on the street and one facing an interior courtyard. Food and Drinks: You order the pastry by the pastry display window and bring it up to the cashier where you can also order your drinks and pay for your order. I got the chocolate Rugalah and a drip coffee, which only costed about $3 together. The Rugalah was flaky in texture and not too sweet so I enjoyed it. The coffee was average, it really is like their house coffee since they just pour it out of their giant container of pre-brewed coffee. Atmosphere: This place is pretty busy on the weekends. Although most people are just taking things to go, it still gets pretty noisy in the cafe. I like how this place is laid out and decorated, It kind of reminds of the The General Muir (white tiles, etc.). They also have a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating. They also have outlets by some of the tables against the walls, so it's a great place to do work if you don't mind the noise. Service: The staff here are nice. One of the staff went out of her way to try to get me the wifi password (which is just their phone number). Another came to clean out the dirty napkins that were under my table (which I didn't even notice!). read more
