Antonio is an experienced, highly skilled, and very precise barber who is equally adept at haircuts, beard trims and shaves. Antonio Botticella is a very welcoming barber: those who enter his studio are warmly greeted and offered refreshment before the service begins. Antonio pays attention to what his clients want and he delivers. Antonio specializes in short cuts in a variety of styles, both classic and modern. Antonio is also a great conversationalist and raconteur: ask him to tell you one of his stories. Antonio's studio is located in the Farragut North area of downtown Washington DC and for a higher price he will travel to his client's local home or office for services: he knows that in this town some VIPs don't have the time to dash out for an appointment. Antonio is in high demand, so I recommend scheduling appointments with him as far in advance as possible. Antonio Botticella may be pricey ($100 for a barbershop haircut; $250 for a mobile haircut) but he's well worth the money spent. You'll leave Antonio impressed. (And you'll impress others with how great your hair looks!)

Easier said than done as I have tried a few and they did not pass the family test. Enter Antonio and Figaro. Not only is my hair cut astonishingly awesome (I look so good!), but Antonio is one of the coolest cats in town. I am not kidding when I say you will want to get your hair cut more often than normal just to hang out with him. I just moved to the area last year and feel super fortunate to have found the best barber in town. It is the most expensive haircut I have ever had, but damn it is worth it!

Barber of Hell's Bottom was recommended to me. I needed a cut before a holiday party and decided…read moreto come here. Booking can be made easily on their website. Pricing for men's cut ranges from $45-$95 depending on the barber selected. I'm normally hesitant when trying new places, but I showed photos to my barber and I walked out with a big smile. It was expensive, but sometimes you have to treat yourself.

It was the worst experience for me at a salon/barber shop much less the price is outrageous and absolutely doesn't match the skill level of cuts or customer service. $90 a hair cut for a men's cut. For a great cut and experience it could be worth it, I thought. Men deserve to be pampered and given the location, I could see why it would be expensive. This is a case of expensive is not always better. I am writing my own review after months of thinking about it because I don't like writing negative reviews. I don't want anyone else to feel the way I did and think it's just them or have the experience I did. I can pay a $35 barber and be able to tip them 50% with them feeling happy and it's still less expensive than this place. I drove 45 minutes thinking it would be worth it. I wasted my time and more importantly, I felt so badly and paid so much ruining a milestone moment. I am not a rich person, it was hard to spend that but I wanted my kid to have a good first adult cut experience. I thought it would be a nice place for a milestone moment. They canceled the first appointment saying stylist was sick. No problem. Self care is important and who wants sick germs at a haircut. I showed up for the rescheduled appointment and they were late. No problem either we had time and we were also a little late. Since it's our first time, a consult was needed with the cut and as we were unclear what we wanted. That is the purpose of a consult, to talk about ideas. A first appointment should build that into the time. I thought my stylist/barber was nice but when we got home, we realized the cut was uneven and it was still a bit too long in places. I do take responsibility that my kid and I were indecisive about what to ask for but, we were just learning how to ask for what we wanted. It take a few times with a new person sometimes. I called back to ask them IF they would fix it. I wasn't mad. I asked nicely. They blamed us for the barber going long and so was late. They, said they would fix it but, it would be our last appointment there. I've been at my own stylist over 20 years, a high end full service salon. Always great service. I just wanted more of a men's focussed place. This place was beyond disappointing. I refused to go back for the fix feeling so awful. We went to the local barber and fixed it for $35. Reception also felt fake nice. They don't really seem to want or need new business. I wasn't even mad when I called for the fix. In my experience that's normal sometimes as a customer and service provider myself. It really feels like you're paying for the location, and cost of running their business not the actual cut or skill level of stylist. More expansive is not always better. My lesson learned. Go on Google and read the more current reviews. I hope my experience was just an outlier, not the norm.
