There is another set of regular bathrooms at the concession stand near the middle back from the beach a ways. There is another concession stand that sells some Asian food, slushies and boba tea on one end of the beach in the parking lot. Not sure what their hours are for either place. There is a nice walking path made of blacktop I believe. People of all ages were there and many going into the water, some building castles in the sand and others floating or playing frisbee in the water. No glass containers are allowed btw. But, we carried our cooler and snacks with us. It's very clean and the sand is so soft. Popped up the umbrellas for a little shade and towels out for reading. I didn't see it but one of my kids said there is a section for dogs. I did see a sign for the regular part of the beach that said dogs allowed on a leash from 6-10 am. Easy breezy parking and lots of it including overflow parking. Parking is so close to the beach makes hauling stuff not too difficult. Had a great time and everyone was very respectful.

The water is always cold. There is some brisk winds that come off the lake, even in the summer. But a nice place to hang out and enjoy the day.

Nice place to waste some time fishing from the bank. We used to catch zillions of smelt from the antique bridge. The bridge is still there; but the smelt are pretty much gone. Now days the river holds trout, salmon, northern pike, catfish and smallmouth bass, not to mention bullheads. Find this quiet little park and wet a fishhook. Take a nap...relax.

A relatively obscure little park off of Maritime Drive. This is a 5.24 acre wildlife area along…read morethe Little Manitowoc River. A well maintained trail takes you along the Little Manitowoc estuary. You can see herons, geese, ducks, gulls and terns, not to mention various songbirds. There is a really slick exercise area with weather proof weight machines under an outside shelter building. There are benches to sit and relax. The trail takes you from Maritime Drive to Waldo Boulevard. This trail links up with the Maritime Trail that can take you to Two Rivers. There are a couple of small picnic areas. There are no facilities in this little place. Dogs are allowed. If you are looking for a nice spot to bird watch, take it easy, or have a quiet picnic with views of a river and nearby Lake Michigan it would behoove you to seek this pretty place and chill.

A nice tranquill green patch in downtown Manitowoc. Includes a walkway that takes you to and past…read morethe submarine Cobia. The walk continues to the mouth of the river to a view of the harbor. The park is about a half acre. There is a ivied arbor which leads to a nice fountain and places to sit and watch the people go by. A walk west will take you under the 8th Street bridge to a riverside wine bar. There are several nice restaurants within a block. Probably the most active corner in town.

The best part of this dog park is walking out to it. You have the option to continue out to the…read morelighthouse. As you walk out there is a large pond to the east. Keep an eye out for shorebirds and other waterfowl. On a nice day, your time out here can be very pleasant. It is now in conjunction with Lighthouse park. There is a very nice restroom facility and a small beach. As for the dog area, it is basically a fenced in lawn. Nice, but unremarkable. The dog area at Halvorson Park has more features to play with your dogs. Still, with the beach, a chance for some good birding and pleasant walking makes the Paws and Play Park worthy of a visit. The main attraction here is the lake, and the people you will meet.

I've been hesitant to write this, it might get deleted because after looking at some pictures, I do…read morebelieve she is the owner..........Me and my six-year-old son visited the farm Mother's Day (never doing that again) and it was super busy, literally waiting in line for 30/45 minutes to hold a cat or a rabbit for three minutes. We had been there before so I knew there was a little bench/sitting area outside of the bathroom. So after using the bathroom, I thought it would be the perfect little area to decompress and take a little break and have a couple snacks so go sit down on the bench get our snacks out put them on a little table start eating them five minutes later the door that separates the area to the wedding venue section opened up, and I hear this lady talking to a woman with a child and a man explaining to them that they can change their child's diaper on the bench.......that was already occupied by myself and my child.....and she continued to explain it to them AFTER she saw us sitting on the bench. I have nothing against the other mom. She was just doing what she was told. But with that being said, I have changed my child's diaper in weird locations and there was a diaper changing station in the bathroom 10 feet away with no line. So at that point it became extremely awkward for everybody involved. I tell my child to hurry up and finish his food and collect his garbage which felt like minutes, but was probably only 30 seconds with the other family still hovering over us waiting for us to get up. He asked me why we had to leave and I didn't answer him. I had no problem with the other family. Maybe they didn't know there was a changing table in the bathroom, once again, they were just doing what they were told. BUT in my opinion, they never should have been told that. The other lady basically kicked us out of the spot. We were already well established at. Out of the almost 7 years that I have been going to fun activities basically every weekend with my child I have never been disrespected like that. Now with that being said, I do not believe it was her original intention to do so, but I would like for her to know that she did offended me and maybe next time see if the bench is already occupied and provide another location. Maybe double check if there is a line for the bathroom first. Yes I know it is a first world problem. But I have been thinking about this since Mother's Day. We can call this review constructive criticism...... but maybe not so that again.

The biggest beach in Manitowoc. But the sand is kind of funky and the beach is between the waste…read morewater treatment plant to the north and the power plant to the south. There is no life guard and there can be rip tides at certain times. It's a sunny beach you'll share with gulls, terns and other shorebirds. I've seen people surf casting here. No bathrooms or any other facilities. Ample parking and it's open 24 hours.

Nice large steel sculpture of a Wisconsin badger. Adjacent to the SS Badger dock. Overlooks the…read moreManitowoc harbor with scenic views. The sculpture can be rotated by hand nearly 360 degrees allowing for a selfie in any direction. Not a must-visit, but definitely a "should visit" if in the area. Pleasant walk to the sculpture.
