I initially came to him when looking for prenatal care in 2023 for pelvic and groin pain relief and was immediately impressed with how accurately and precisely he located my pain points with THE MOST gentle touch I've felt from a chiropractor. My husband then started seeing him for relief from sports injuries and also loved Dr. Henstock. Fast forward to after having my baby--she had a funny crawl (dragged one leg under) and when she started standing on her own we noticed she couldn't stand up completely straight. I've had serious back issues since a high school car accident, and those issues have been further exasperated from pregnancies and working remotely (sitting for long periods). Dr. Henstock is very attentive to my needs and takes a lot of care in every appointment. He never rushes. He carefully and methodically makes necessary adjustments until everything looks and feels right. He does both manual adjustments and activator adjustments if manual adjustments aren't your thing. I can't remember when it started exactly, but I had a nagging pain in the center of my back for the longest time. It made sleeping, exercise, and even just stretching uncomfortable at times. I'm assuming it was from an unaddressed injury several years ago (I never used to stretch). I was so relieved when just 2 minutes into my appointment here, Dr. Henstock gently pressed on the exact point in my back, and knew right away it had probably been giving me trouble. When I went in Doctor Kalsbeek was out for the day so my visit was with Doctor Williams. Either way I was not disappointed. I had been avoiding visiting a chiropractor and living with chronic pain for years because of all the horror stories I had heard about "bad chiropractors". I found this office through Yelp, and had an appointment set in the evening with Dr. Williams. I wouldn't be looking for a new chiropractor if my previous doctor hadn't moved to Denver, Co. I loved my previous doctor as he had a gentle touch and approached my needs in an intuitive manner. I have received chiropractic care on and off for more than twenty years as I have chronic intermittent pain in my C-Spine and lower lumbar. I have seen the gamut of doctors, from old-school "bone crackers" who feel they need to hear a sound to ensure adjustment to those who practice Graston. Dr. Williams was indeed like my old chiropractor, a great listener, intuitive and open to new and developing practices. His table was very cool. You step onto the adjustment table and it pivoted from 90 degrees to a horizontal position. Great for minimizing pain. At the end of the appointment, Dr. Williams left it to me as to whether or not I needed another appointment. i've only ever been to one other chiropractor in my life (three years ago), but the folks at kalsbeek blow them (and, dare i say, anyone else) out of the water (ok, admittedly a bit presumptuous). from the moment i called to the moment i left, i actually felt like these people cared for me. (ok, sounds sappy, but it's true!) and when i got there, i saw why--dr. kalsbeek is an older gent, part of the old school, and you know, they have that je ne sais quoi--rather than being hardened by years of experience, he listened to everything i had to say and seemed genuinely interested in what i was telling him, and he didn't try to rush me out, either. in fact, he had a patient in another room but didn't hurry up the treatment just to shuffle patients through the door.
