We liked the overall look; it was exactly what we wanted. She arrived at 5:30am since we wanted to be ready by 8, and was super friendly and energetic, despite the early start. She was also flexible and was able to do my mother's makeup as a last minute request. She gave me a little sample of the lip product, after I mentioned that I looked for it, but it was sold out. It was a very kind gesture to help make our day a little smoother.

I did a makeup trial for our engagement photo session a few months before the wedding, and Crystal created a natural look that accentuated my best features. Crystal was able to replicate the same look for the wedding. I received many compliments on my makeup in the engagement photos and on my wedding day. Thank you, Crystal! In addition to being a top-notch makeup artist, Crystal was a pleasure to work with -- she was responsive to emails and flexible with scheduling (about a week before the wedding, I realized that it would be better if she could start at 9 am on our wedding day instead of the previously agreed upon 10:30 am, and she was able to accommodate the change). Also, Crystal's good taste in music may not seem particularly relevant in this situation, but the music she streamed during the trial and wedding makeup sessions helped create a cheerful and celebratory mood, which helped me relax. I am hoping that one of my friends will get engaged soon SO that I could recommend Crystal. :)

When I texted her photos afterwards politely expressing my disappointment (with trial and wedding photos attached), she did not offer to refund me but instead offered to redo my hair and makeup again for wedding photo retakes - strange, as how I clearly could not retake photos from that day and had no plans to pay tons of money for another post-wedding photo shoot?? Would have preferred my money back. Or better planning to begin with.

Every product used was cheap. The owner refuses to accept this review. Also my friend who went after me had the same experience and had to re do her makeup prior to the event. Save yourself from ruining ur special day and shop wisely when getting your makeup done on your special day. It really can ruin it for you. I was told that if I remove the posting I could get 50% back. If not she would not work with me as she did her job. I would not call this a professional makeup appointment.

During the makeup trial she listened to my needs and took times to try multiple styles and looks until I'm comfortable with my choices. Her makeup style is very beautiful and natural at the same time, she has a great understand of Asian features. I felt very beautiful. During the event she stayed around for almost the whole ceremony to reception, helping with touch ups and outfit/look changes. She was also great with my mother and bridesmaids, patient and giving styling support when my mom had questions. However I think there's room for improvement in her team. The second HMU she brought with her to help with the other half of my bridesmaids was not as good. My bridesmaid mentioned that her side bun constantly fell out and after asking to be fixed multiple time they just ended up fixing it themselves. The second HMU also didn't seem to have the same joy as Kary and wasn't too friendly. Outside of that, Kary's husband Eugene does all her booking, scheduling and communications. Have some patience for him to get back to you and double check the booking times as I experienced some mixed up during the trial booking. Overall I would definitely recommend working with Kary for your makeup, you will not regret it, she really took good care of me.

Getting into contact with Eugene was easy, and they were fully transparent about prices and packages from the get go, which I was grateful for. We had a very large group (10 ladies) getting ready the morning of, and she and her assistant did absolutely wonderful for everyone's hair and makeup!! Some of my girls hardly wear any makeup, so they had no reference to work with, but Kary and her assistant made everyone feel comfortable and beautiful. I'm so grateful that she was so attentive, making sure that nothing feels uncomfortable on our hair or on our faces, and I'm especially grateful that her package included touch ups at the venue itself. I feel like most other makeup artists will do your hair and makeup the morning of, and you just hope that it'll last the whole day. I even asked to do a hair change for my tea ceremony, and Kary did it without hesitation and killed it. My mom especially loved the updo! Hera is an absolute gem! Not only did she create the most perfect soft glam look for my engagement shoot at the Montalvo Arts Center, but she also made the entire experience so enjoyable with her warm and friendly personality. I was amazed at how stunning the makeup turned out--I didn't want to remove it at the end of the night! Upon our first meeting (trial), I was impressed by Maria's punctuality and professionalism. The trial went great, but the hair style I wanted required my hair to be longer. Maria suggested of another session right before the wedding to ensure I was happy with the choice of hair. I felt Maria really cared. On the day of the wedding, Maria arrived earlier than planned. Which was a great help, because she was doing three peoples makeup and hair. She was so easy going and helpful, I felt like she was one of my bridesmaids! Maria does great work. She listens to you and makes sure you are happy with the results. I never felt like I couldn't voice my opinion. She was open to trying different things and work with hair accessories I had to make me happy. I am so lucky to have Maria do my wedding. I will definitely recommend her to anyone who is doing an event and needs professional makeup and hair. Can't go wrong with Maria.
