Ordered food and was told it would be 20 minutes but it was 45. Had to wait in a smoke filled building in the middle of a pond that was in a not so safe feeling area. If you are a woman traveling solo, I don't recommend going here. Mostly middle aged men getting drunk and hacking a lung out from all the cigarettes they have been smoking that night next to your food. The next morning there was a SUV in the same pond as the bar and grill. The burger was $12 and came with not fried enough fries, chopped up lettuce burger that didn't have enough seasoning. Just not worth it. If you're staying at the hotel just make the drive and go somewhere else for pick up. read more

Not worth it. The white female bartender with an accent was rude and drinking during her shift. The way she spoke to a black patron was totally unacceptable. She came across as very hostile and disrespectful to this man. I've never see her behave this way with white patrons. read more

Everyone who regularly follows my yelp posts knows that I love the old school type dive bars. Sadly, "In this day and age," many of my faves are going away. I may have to move to Savannah as a remedy to this growing problem. Hercules Bar & Grill is awesome. I can't comment on the food here because I did not eat here this visit (my first), however, I did have a great time sipping beers and chatting with some regulars (who often frequent the place). In Hercules Kingdom Ambience Is King. Very Old School. As in Morris Lounge Old School Cool (Kirkwood ATL). If you know, then you know. I noticed that the house pizza is a popular menu item here. The aforementioned Pizza is, oddly enough, served on paper plates; which I agree seems weird (as others have written in their reviews). The biggest thing here to note (and to remember before going) is that in spite of the All-Pervasive No Smoking Laws strictly enforced here in Georgia (for most restaurants), this place seems to be one of the rare chosen few that are exempted from such laws. In Hercules Kingdom, Hercules allows smoking inside his "floating island" due to some kind of odd "grandfather clause" legality thing; however, patrons can opt out of inhaling second hand smoke by sitting on the outside patio overlooking the "lake" (i.e. runoff pond / ravine filled with murky water across the street from the GulfStream assembly plant). I am from Atlanta, where there are similar laws in place at some of the older (old school) establishments (many of which are "going by way of the dinosaur"). Smoke Averse People as well as the "zero tolerance non-smoker types" can quickly / easily opt out of going here. But it doesn't really matter to Lieutenant Commander Hercules as the smoker friendly vibe that seems to be the law of the land here (in Hercules Kingdom) means that more revenue will be made. The Hercules pizza was great. Fantastic. It was, however, served on paper plates, which was kind of odd for the price. The soda was fairly flat or water down. The biggest problem was (and we knew this before we went there) there is a no smoking law in Georgia for restaurants, however, they allowed smoking inside the restaurant. We sat on the patio. We are from Phoenix, where there is a similar law, and it is common practice for restaurants to pay the fine when they check on them, because it means more revenue the rest of the time because smokers like to go there. read more

This place is AWESOME! It's a dive bar next door for sure. Don't let the humble exterior dissuade you from a visit. Cold beer fries and wings on this trip. This place was hopping for miday and a ton of call-in orders. If you're in Savannah and looking for a cold beer near the airport, this is a great watering hole. I went to this restaurant and ordered the 12 ounce ribeye with french fries medium rare. I personally witnessed the bartender relay to the cook in the kitchen to cook my steak, medium rare. The steak took a lot longer than I expected and to my surprise it was burnt to a crisp and definitely well done 10 out of 10 do not recommend ordering the steak from this hole in the wall bar/restaurant. read more

This is a neighborhood bar at best. Five stars for me depends on a number of things. Food service and atmosphere. Yes, you can smoke inside this bar. I have sinus problems and that makes it shitty... However, the food was pretty fresh for what it was, the girls behind the bar didn't have a attitude with me - and where very kind - to me a lone woman patron... which makes me impressed in itself. Anyway - five stars for being a simple place to get cheap drinks good time and play pool with your buddies. Cheerio check out a great neighborhood bar when you're nearby. read more

Went to this bar at one o'clock in the morning. It was empty. There were under ten people there. I ordered a pizza and mozzarella sticks to satisfy my late night tummy growl. It worked. The waitresses here are wonderful. Very down to earth and makes you feel at home. Great atmosphere.. It's literally right in front of the days inn which I stayed at. It was so convenient. I ordered the cheeseburger with onion rings for $1 extra since I substituted it for fries and $2 for salad substitution. The chef likes to use ciabatta bun which in what my burger was on. I love that unique twist on a classic. It tasted really great. The onion rings were so big!! They were delicious and crispy.. The best guilty pleasure I had while I was in savannah. I would go here again and I recommend it to anyone who wants good food in a laid back atmosphere. Also it's $4 for a Heineken.. Which I think is really pricey. read more

STAY AWAY! This place is loud, obnoxious and the service is sub-par. The music was blaring so loud I couldn't even hear my sister sitting next to me. The food was ok .... not bad but nothing to write home about. The staff was rather unorganized and it took a long time to get our food. The waitress was friendly, however. My favorite part of the evening was listening to some guy try to get laid for about 30 minutes at the bar. read more
