Have been taking my elderly cat with kidney disease here for the last 1-2 years because the location is convenient to me. It's an expensive visit every time. This last visit, after billing me over $1000 in tests (wellness exam, blood panel, urine test), not a soul reached out to chat about any results for over 3 weeks. Just ran their tests and rushed me out after billing me. No email summarizing the visit, no phone call, no billing or test summary, just nothing. I had to call THEM to hear anything, and even then was just told they'd call back. When I requested for them to email me a summary of the test results, they condescended that I wouldn't know how to read it and needed the vet to explain it all. Girl idgaf. Y'all said nothing for almost a month, give me SOMETHING. You'd think after spending hundreds/thousands of dollars that they'd have more professional, timely customer service. This vet practice cares more about $$$ than the animals they treat and the vibes are predatory. They gotta be in there having meetings over how much money they can drain from pet owners before we realize we're being finagled. Brought my pup here cause it was local to me and easy since I have little ones it's easy to take the pup. But honestly 4 visits later, I've only taken my pup for vaccines & check ups (nothing major) they always are trying to push for more & upsell stuff that my dog doesn't even need. Every visit they would insist my dog needed something else, just made me question their care. Now at a new vet I get a whole different kind of care and I just never realized how pushy they were. My dog came in for nail trimming and a flea and tick prescription and was talked into getting a vaccine that killed him. No warning about side effects with his heart murmur which they were fully aware of. He was handed off to leave and he could not walk! He had to be rushed back to the clinic as he collapsed in our car. They did not save my baby! He died under their care. I am still devastated. This is wrong. I got a quote to update my dog's vaccines for $155 (as a technician visit). After he got the 3 vaccines I ended up paying $204. [Insert unhappy face here.] In short, they forced a wellness exam on me without confirming and even though he wasn't even due just yet. I discovered I could make an appointment through their online website. The options were clear: Vaccine, Sick, Recheck, Technician, Health Check, or Wellness appointments. I selected Vaccine because that was all he needed. Before she called the vet into the room I asked why we needed to see the vet. She curtly told me it was required to get vaccinated. .....Ok..... After the vet came in to do a "wellness exam" (repeating exactly what the technician just did) I asked her to explain why they did a wellness exam when I hadn't requested it. She got a little flustered as she checked her computer and then stated "oh he is due a wellness exam in a month" (end of May... it's only April). I stated again that I hadn't requested it. And then she said "oh the system must have set it automatically since he's due next month... you can come back then to do the vaccinations". What?! And THEN she blamed it on the online system I used to make the appointment stating it is confusing and they were planning to remove the site booking. I must have made her mad with my questioning because after vaccinations were given she basically gave me the sheet with potential side effects, gave a very fast rundown of where or how vaccinations were applied and left the room without a thank you or goodbye. Lesson learned: DO NOT use their online system to book an appointment and when a person calls to confirm the "VACCINE appointment you made online" make sure to get more details on exactly what kind of appointment they're setting for you. Let me tell you more about our experience... My lab has been a patient here for about 2 years now. Starting last year my dog started having stomach issues. He got some tests done and even after a few more vet visits they could not determine what was wrong except that he had a sensitive stomach. They prescribed him Hills Science Biome along with fiber and prebiotoc supplements that helped with his watery stools but he was not gaining weight and looked malnourished for many months after. Almost a year later he was still massively underweight and still having major stomach issues. I fed him a lot but he wasn't gaining weight and he was having watery blowouts randomly. During the last event of watery blowouts and a little vomiting I was going to take him in for another exam but they didn't have a convenient appointment availability within the same week so I decided to take him to a different vet that had an immediate opening.. He had one vet visit there and the vet suggested he get a GI test done. After that they found a diagnosis, prescribed him some stuff for it, and amazingly enough my dog is now thriving and doing much better two months later after last stomach problem. I'm unable to recommend this office. Maybe to healthy patients they might be totally consistent and not charge you randomly but I'm very irked that they would set a wellness exam when 1) he's not actually due for it at that time and 2) I didn't ask for a wellness exam. read more

Solid C- Hercules Pet Clinic is 5 minutes from my house, so I loved the convenience. After about 10 visits I decided the convenience wasn't worth the downside of frequenting this practice. Like most vets, they do have caring staff who love animals. The problem here is their business practices. They tend to push nonessential tests and examinations. Taking advantage of pet owners to boost profits is not ok. My final straw with them was their insistence on a veterinary exam before renewing a monthly flea and tick prescription. The vibe was super chill and welcoming from the moment we walked in, and the front desk staff made everything easy. Andrea was super helpful in the morning, patiently listening as I was discussing pet insurance options which I really appreciated. Kimberly was so sweet to my dog when she got scared after getting her temperature taken--they really know how to handle nervous pups and she was fantastic, breaking down the treatment plan clearly and even showing everything on the computer so I knew exactly what was going on. This place is evil. This review is for Hercules Pet Hospital and Disney Pet Hospital because my dogs have been patients at both locations under VetnCare. After taking my dogs here they almost died or were separated from us during travel due to bad paperwork and mishandling of our pets medical records by the doctors and staff. To start, on two separate occasions, two separate VetnCare clinics (this one and Disney Pet Hospital) provided us the wrong travel documents for our dogs (even though we paid close to $700 for travel consults), leading us to be stranded on vacation and costing us thousands in re-booking, travel and shipping fees just to get our dogs back home. Not to mention the fear, anxiety and panic that set in at various airports when we had to navigate being told that our pet documents were incomplete or wrong. On both occasions we faced losing our dogs (by authorities taking them) or being forced to leave them in another country on the date of our return because the doctors here (Dr. Nguyen and Dr. Orellana) got the travel documents wrong (and had the wrong information on our dog medical records). Secondly, at Hercules Pet Hospital specifically, one of the doctors on a routine vaccination visit for my older dog told me to get rid of one of my dogs. I mentioned to her that we had recently adopted a puppy to socialize our 9 year old dog that was getting checked up that day at the visit but it was off to a bit of a rocky start so far. I asked for advice and she told me to quote, "get rid of the puppy." She then narrated a whole personal story about HER family's experience trying to adopt a puppy to socialize their older german shepherd and how it became awful for them and they just "got rid of it" (the puppy). She advised that I do the same. No medical basis, not on breeds/temperaments, just "get rid of the puppy." She was very wrong and after some of my own research my dogs are getting along really well and playing with each other like brothers. Another bad experience I had at Hercules Pet Hospital was when I took my puppy (yes the same one) for vaccines. I was given all the standard vaccines, but when I went back for follow up I wasn't told that they have an internal (undisclosed) policy to give certain vaccines SOONER than the recommended or veterinary board approved timeline because its, quote, "good practice." When I insisted on waiting for the standard approved timeframe they drafted up a release of liability stating that I had refused the vaccine (even though my puppy already had the first shot), and tried to force me to sign it. When I refused they insisted that I get it our they would not treat us/give us the second shot. So I reluctantly agreed and paid an additional $150 or so for the visit when I hadn't planned to (financially) because the shot was not due. Another observation is their prices at Hercules Pet Hospital. For every visit, I have been charged WAY more than I anticipated based on the original work up. Their staff will talk you up and add unnecessary procedures and add ons to the medical service that your pet doesn't need (like unnecessary anesthesia or heavy anesthesia) to charge you more. Also, I observed that elderly black clients with older dogs have bills in the thousands compared to others, and I suspect that these clients are being "handled". I think they are being taken advantage of because of their age/race (and often because their dogs are long term companions so they are more desperate to keep them living). I submitted all this information to the VetnCare Medical Director, Dr. Andrew Moffatt, who has done nothing but gaslight and claim there's no proof of malpractice by their offices. The good thing is, I have hard copies of visit records. Dr. Moffatt has been asked to provide their malpractice provider multiple times but just keeps evading the question. That makes me think this is not the only time they have mis-treated animals or clients. Buyer beware. read more

I took my 9 month old kitten here and had I known that they don't have the necessary equipment to fully care for my kitten, I would have went elsewhere to start. Once i paid the fees for all the procedures that was needed, it became clear that they couldn't give my kitten the necessary care he needed. I have been on the lookout for a new vet since moving to the area. With the pandemic it's been hard to feel safe and make sure that wherever I take my fur baby is doing their best for her and keeping us all safe. I took my cat Nova to the vet today expecting to have her wellness exam and get her up-to-date in her vaccinations. They even have a coupon on their website to help with the costs. I got a call from the doctor about ten minutes later and was surprised. He let me know that Nova was very nervous and had started to hiss and bite. So he thought it would be best to not create a traumatic event for her and send her home with some medication to relax her for the next visit. I have never had a vet be so kind and wanting to make sure my girl was well taken care of without forcing her to comply. She's always been a very shy and slow to get to know you kitty. Fairly new dog mom & I brought my pup here recently to get his vaccinations updated. I went to their website to schedule the appointment online. I didn't expect to receive confirmation of the appointment until the next day, but I received a call within a couple of hours to let me know the specific time I selected on the date I chose was not available & they gave me an option for a later time, which I took. The day of my boy's appointment we were greeted with smiles by the front office staff & he was spoiled with plenty of pets & treats. His visit was quick & easy, and I was told he was a good boy while he was in the back getting his vaccinations. The pet clinic is a 5 minute drive from home, has plenty of parking, clean facility, with friendly staff. On a side note, while waiting for my pup, I witnessed another patron who spoke rudely to the front office staff, and kudos to them for handling the situation professionally. Whatever the situation was they handled themselves & the patron with grace and did not let it affect them from assisting the patron. They have some vet techs that are truly fear free and experienced. One was Quincee and the others I didn't get their names. Sorry, but just as helpful. Now that doesn't mean they do all the heavy lifting but they have been the most willing and successful with my anxious and slightly fearful pittie. Not his fault he's been attacked twice by off leash dogs. They take care of his allergies. Have drawn blood twice from him when other clinics refused to do so without sedation. My little Henry got something stuck in his throat and spent the whole night wretching, trying to get it out. Poor little guy! The next morning I took him in and got an appointment for 1:30, which saved me a $76 walk-in fee if I'd insisted on having him checked without an appointment, so thank you for telling me that, registration lady. When Dr. Lin saw him, she noticed he had extra teeth since some baby teeth hadn't fallen out a year ago and I should get it removed, "But this isn't why you're here." That made me trust that she was just going to help, not try to ring up an expensive bill. She explained that the object could be stuck in the tonsil pocket so she checked, but Henry wasn't cooperating and refused to let her look in his throat. That means lights out, pup. Dr. Lin explained that since he'd be sedated, she'd check the pocket and all over the sinus area in case it might be grass, hair, or a foxtail which means I feel absolutely confident that no matter the results, I'll know that if nothing else, his breathing passages are clear. Dr. Lin has a gentle bedside manner that made me feel safe to leave Henry with them for the procedure. Her staff is great and although vet bills are costly, the session seemed reasonably priced. Plus they have lollipops and a coffee/tea station, so that was a nice touch. I had no idea they were so closeby because they are tucked around the corner from the Round Table/Big Lots area, but because they are out of sight, they have plenty of parking. I called to check in, the office staff came to the car masked and gloved to give me some paperwork to fill out and then another woman returned to get Luna. This is her first vet visit so I wanted to be by her side while she got her first round of immunizations! Damn COVID! Is this normal for all pet clinics?!?! I appreciate the caution that is being taken but I would have loved to be there with my Luna. I couldn't imagine leaving one of my children alone with a stranger for their first doctors visit. As I waited impatiently in the car for the doctor to call me I couldn't help but think how Luna must be feeling. I received a call from the doc to check in and she assured me Luna was doing fine. This was my first visit to Hercules Pet Clinic. Our 15 year old Tabby cat has kidney disease, which can cause multiple issues, constipation being one of them, getting the cat to eat is another major one. It's important to address constipation, especially if days have gone by without the cat (dog, or any animal I would think) eliminating. We've used Catlax with good results for many years, which also helps to pass furballs, but in this instance it wasn't enough. Having to try many different types of food to get him to eat has been challenging to say the least, and then when we found one he loved, it turned out to be harder for him to eliminate if eaten regularly. Our regular vet has had to temporarily close, therefore I called Hercules Pet Clinic and explained the situation which was getting worrisome and affecting our cats eating as well. This was a Friday morning as it turned out. They didn't really have any openings but were very kind and helpful to squeeze us in. The entire staff, from reception, Veterinarian Assistant, to the Vet, Dr. Otten, were helpful and friendly. Dr. Otten examined our cat and told us what he found and made suggestions for his current and future kidney care. For today he needed a laxative, which they sent me home with. Which thankfully worked by the next morning!!! One suggestion was to give him "Greenies Feline Smartbites, Healthy Indoor treats." These contain fiber, vitamins, minerals that help support healthy digestion, high quality protein and low calories. Dr. Otten suggested that these might help our cats digestion and constipation and cats love Greenies! He loves them and this is a big help as it can used as a treat or a dry food in addition to wet food. One of the major problems in cats with kidney disease can be getting them to eat. The best for them is prescription diet "Kidney" foods, but our cat, like many, don't like it and won't eat it. They might eat some the first time but refuse afterwards. It's incredibly challenging because they have to eat. Therefore, our regular vet explained that any food the cat will eat is better than nothing. Dr. Otten also recommended Epakitin which is a powder to mix with wet cat food that will help bind Phosphorus to it and they eliminate it, thus reducing the load on the kidneys. He also gave several other helpful suggestions. We really appreciate them squeezing us in on a Friday, when they were already fully booked, and the great care they gave. When Dr. Sung retired I was concerned that my babies would not like the new Vets. They have now both been seen and I am happy to report that they did seem to like their new care providers. I liked them too. This clinic is still worthy of a 5-star rating, Both of my cats behaved well. Buck was angry and swished his tail so we would be aware of his displeasure to be on the exam table. He may be an old boy, but he is hard to hold down. Eyes nicely sat on the towel on the table and purred when they took her vitals. Once again Hercules Pet Clinic pulls "Our Sweet Girl" through difficult health challenges. She is 10 yr.'s old and a 140 lb. Great Pyrenees... so 2 recent surgeries in a 3 week period with anesthesia had me quite anxious. But she came through remarkably well due to the wonderful team at the clinic. A sure sign of how well they personally treat her is after multiple surgeries, procedures, and more she never hesitates to go back. I would definitely recommend Hercules Pet Clinic! I had to take my cat, Disco to be checked unfortunately she was to sick and I have to put her down. The Dr. explained what was wrong and I couldn't let her suffer. EVERYONE was so kind.
