Our beloved dog Delilah passed away in the early morning of April 7, 2024 at the age of 13 years. Her passing happened on a weekend, and many of the locations that I contacted were either closed, couldn't pick up until another day, or couldn't do a pick up due to us not being part of the area they serviced. It was already a stressful situation as it was. Thankfully, Pets.RIP was available at any hour of the day, so I made a call to Kwasi who answered my call and answered all my questions that I had. Kwasi is definitely a gem of a person; he is very compassionate, and being a pet owner himself, he understands the stresses that a passing of a beloved pet can have on its owner and family. There was no rush on when he could pick up; he told us to take as much time as we needed and to call him when we were ready for her to be picked up. After he picked her up to have a private cremation done, we kept in contact with him and he provided updates on when her urn would be ready. After 10 days from when he picked her up, he contacted me to let me know that her urn was ready. He went above and beyond and drove here to personally bring her to us. We would have been okay with having to pick her up from where ever she was, but the fact that Kwasi did this really touched us. Again, he is truly a gem of a person. Her urn was a beautiful sheesam urn with a nameplate of Delilah on it. Seeing it made me cry because I missed her, but also happy that she is finally back with us. If you ever need a private cremation (they also offer communal cremation) for a beloved pet that passed, please do not hesitate to contact Pets.RIP. I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Pets Rest in Peace during one of the most heartbreaking moments of my life. After losing my 1-month-old puppy, I reached out to them specifically requesting a private cremation. This was incredibly important to me. They did not come to pick him up until 24 hours later, which was already difficult while grieving. From the very beginning, communication was poor and inconsistent. What made the situation even worse was the lack of follow through and professionalism afterward. I have been dealing with this for two months, waiting for the entire process to be completed. I waited an entire month for my puppy's remains to be returned home. When the urn was finally delivered, it was not even brought by the company as promised. It was sent through an Uber driver. For something so sensitive and emotional, that felt extremely impersonal and careless. To make matters worse, the urn arrived without a nameplate. I was told they were "working on it." On January 23rd. Since then, I have had to repeatedly text the owner weekly and sometimes multiple times a week just to get updates. I was told I would receive the nameplate by Friday, February 13th, but that day came and went with no delivery and no communication. When I followed up, I had to reach out two times before getting an update. The response I received was: "I'm waiting, just checked again today and no response." I asked to be kept updated moving forward, but I received no further communication. After reaching out three more times, I was completely ignored. I am still waiting for my puppy's nameplate today as I am making this review right now. As much money as people spend, they should have the right to receive updates about the order they paid $350 for. This was not a small purchase it was an emotional and financial investment during one of the hardest times in my life. This experience has added unnecessary stress and pain during an already devastating time. Losing a pet is heartbreaking, and families deserve compassion, timely communication, and professionalism especially when paying for a private cremation service. Instead, I experienced delays, poor communication, broken promises, and a complete lack of follow-up. Their website lists them as a cremation service in Oakland. They are actually just a pickup service and take your pet to "Pet's Rest" in Colma to be cremated. A photo posted here on Yelp shows a marked company van. A regular, unmarked SUV arrived for pickup. My pet was placed inside a regular storage bin. I was told cremation would happen within about 24 hours and I was told the turnaround to receive the remains back is typically 1-2 weeks, but that "right now" it was 5-7 days from pickup. I was told the urn included a name plate (as also can be seen in photos here on Yelp). I was told my pet's remains would be returned personally from Kwasi in 5-7 days. After 8 days from pick up, I had to ask for an update at which point I was told: "I am waiting to get the call to pick up all of my urns. When that happens I can schedule returns." After 13 days from pick up, I had to ask for another update at which point I was told: "Cremation has happened I have to wait for other urns from pets that I picked up after yours. We can't just go grab one, I am waiting on 30 and your were #15, I'm checking everyday" At this point nothing had happened as it had been disclosed, and I lost all faith that I would get my actually pet's remains back. I did not ask for any other updates, and none were also provided. After 27 days from pick up, an urn that is allegedly my pet's remains were delivered from USPS, shipped by Pet's Rest. My experience does not match what I was told, what I see from other users, or what can be found on their website. They are not a cremation service in Oakland. The remains do not include a name plate. The remains were not returned by Kwasi. The were returned in 27 days, not 5-7 days or 1-2 weeks. On the paperwork from Pet's Rest: My name is spelled incorrectly. Kwasi dropped off my pet to them (and they cremated the same day) 8 days after the pickup. Why was it not disclosed that this is not a cremation service, but a pick-up only service to take your pet to an actual cremation service? Where was my pet for 8 days? How was she stored for 8 days-- inside the storage bin? Why was my pet not returned by Kwasi like he said? Why was my pet cremated on 8/22 but not shipped to me until 9/8? Given all of the above, I do not trust I actually have the correct remains. I feel completely scammed and I would not wish this experience on anyone. read more

When my senior dog passed away at home, I didn't know what to do since I live in an apartment and didn't want to drive with my dog's body in my car. So I turned to yelp for some help through this situation. I called and a very nice man answered my call and helped set up a pick up for the next day, so I had to keep my apartment really cold until then. I believe the man I spoke to was who picked up my little guy for his final ride in a car. It was very hard to watch him take him for cremation but it had to be done. Took a couple weeks to get him back, but over all they were easy to work with and my baby finally came home. I'm thankful they were there to help me through the process. The prices are modest in contrast to other places but you wait a little longer for the return of the remains. My guy was delivered in a cute bag with his name on it. I just really want to thank Kwasi, Andre, and Shane (never met him/her) for their excellent service and clear communication. Our family dog, Emma, passed away on 4/7 pretty suddenly, and we were looking a crematorium service on the weekend (unfortunately all of them are closed). Luckily we found Pets Rip with their mobile service. Kwasi explained their services and options and what we wished for Emma. He was very empathetic to what we were going through and gave us time to think things through. Once we decided to go with them they were able to pick up Emma from our home (we had some close relatives who wanted to see her off) literally the next day and store her until she was taken to the crematorium. They are EXTREMELY flexible for pickups. We did get a little anxious as the crematorium they worked with had maintenance to do which delayed us getting her ashes back but they quick on responses and gave us updates what's going on. They're all pet owners so they do know how tough it is to see peoples' fur babies go... In just about 2wks, Emma is back at home and feel much more at peace. I'm really glad we found Pets Rip and would highly recommend them to anyone needing a mobile crematory service. Fast response and nice staff. My dog died on our way back to the bay area and when I called them, they responded immediately. After we got home Andre came within an hour. I called him several times to get an update and he responded right away. I also got his ashes ion 8 days. The only comment I have is, when he picked up my dog , I didn't see him put a tag on him.
