Updating this review since we had to have our elderly dog put to sleep in January. The whole staff was great, but especially vet tech Liese and Dr. Nguyen. They were so kind and made the whole experience (which was of course still awful + heartbreaking, but that's not their fault) as smooth and gentle as possible. We were provided blankets, allowed to hold him on our laps, and we even saw Dr. Nguyen give him a couple gentle pets each time he administered any drugs. We were already aware that everyone working at Disney really cares about each animal on an individual level, but this experience really emphasized it for us. We also were appreciative of the honesty we were given. We were told that we *could* probably keep our dog alive longer, but that his quality of life would be practically nonexistent. I can't overstate how grateful we are that no one tried to dance around it just to spare our feelings or squeeze more money out of us on treatments that weren't in his best interest. There's a reason we trust the staff at Disney so much, and it's because we truly believe they have our pets best interests in mind, above all else. We also later on received a condolence card that appeared to have a handwritten message and was signed by most, if not every staff member (there were at least 7-8 signatures). Our whole family is so, so grateful for the amazing care that Disney provided during our dog's life and even more grateful for making his last moments so peaceful for him. We're so lucky to have found such an incredible veterinary provider and are incredibly appreciative of all the wonderful people who work to make it that way. read more

I needed a vet to look at the cat of a family friend. The cat had not had recent medical care, so was completely unknown to Dr. Nguyen, but I was able to fill a cancellation and be seen the same afternoon. The cat and I received amazing service from the entire team at Disney Pet Hospital. The receptionist were welcoming and considerate, and Liese (Vet Tech) was friendly, compassionate and explained her initial assessment in detail. Dr. Nguyen was outstanding. He handled the cat gently as he examined her, summarized a couple of possible diagnoses, and explained in detail the rationale for the lab work that he advised to rule these possibilities in or out. Later that day he emailed a detailed explanation of the lab results and outlined a possible treatment plan, should my friend choose to move forward with more diagnostics and invasive testing. Sadly, the blood work revealed that the cat's problems are severe, and the family decided that further treatment would be unwarranted and could possibly do more harm than good. I was very impressed with Dr. Nguyen's care, clinical judgement, and communication with us, and I appreciated the care we (people and cat) received at Disney. Thank you to the entire team. read more

I found Disney Pet Hospital here on Yelp, and made an appointment online (a few days hence.) The great team at Disney saw my reason for the appointment, and suggested we bring in our dog sooner. This review is for Dr.Nguyen my 16-year-old dog needed a bunch of her teeth extracted, she also had an awful odor coming from her mouth. It was definitely a surgery that I was worried about considering her age and how severe her teeth issues were. I was finally able to afford the surgery to get all of her teeth extracted, and I've put my full trust in doctor. Not only did this surgery go smoothly, but she is fully healed now and no more odor. You can tell this Dr cares and is passionate about his work. I am very thankful to the doctor and the staff for helping my foxy girl!! I love how knowledgeable the Dr. is, but also doesn't try to take advantage when it comes to pricing in my opinion they are very reasonable. I am so beyond ecstatic with this veterinarian! Dr. Vince Nguyen-The is the best! I have had some horrible experiences with other veterinarians, including one that killed my dog. So, needless to say, I have a natural mistrust of veterinarians in general. But, Dr. Nguyen-The is wonderful. I trust him completely with my pets. And, his staff, especially Liese, are all just as wonderful as he is. They always make both me and my dog Booger feel at ease. I took my 8 yo poodle mix pup for a check up, dental assessment, and a dental cleaning- the team -especially dr. Ruth and Dr. Nguyen and all the RVTs, have been so accommodating and helpful. They worked with me and my dog intentionally to provide informative care that is dog and owner centered. Yes they do get very busy and sometimes the vet can't directly speak with you about plans of care BUT the RVTs are just as knowledgeable and answered ALL my questions. My dog developed a possible infection from dental extractions and they were able to bring him in to be seen the same day I called (just had to wait a couple hours but that's reasonable since it's urgent care and they had a fully booked schedule). So grateful for this amazing team They have fair pricing but you do have to double check your estimate and bill before you sign anything. read more

I can't say enough about this hospital. What a great team. I found a new born kitten in the dirt. its eye was swollen, I thought it's leg was broken. I was shopping around for a new vet, and took a chance on this hospital because Sage recommended it. Dr. Vince is great. I was sure the kitten was going to need x-rays , and blood work, I was very concerned about how much it would cost. The doctor said no x-rays won't show anything on a kitten this small. Dr. Morris was knowledgeable, compassionate, and fully supportive of our decision to combine holistic treatments with the medications he prescribed. UPDATED REVIEW - This place is STILL evil. I completed a travel questionnaire before the visit with my itinerary included (their reply is all lies). After I spoke up, so many other patients on next door have exposed how horrible they are. *** This review is for Hercules Pet Hospital and Disney Pet Hospital because my dogs have been patients at both locations under VetnCare. After taking my dogs here they almost died or were separated from us during travel due to bad paperwork and mishandling of our pets medical records by the doctors and staff. To start, on two separate occasions, two separate VetnCare clinics (Hercules and Disney Pet Hospital) provided us the wrong travel documents for our dogs (even though we paid close to $700 for travel consults), leading us to be stranded on vacation and costing us thousands in re-booking, travel and shipping fees just to get our dogs back home. Not to mention the fear, anxiety and panic that set in at various airports when we had to navigate being told that our pet documents were incomplete or wrong. On both occasions we faced losing our dogs (by authorities taking them) or being forced to leave them in another country on the date of our return because the doctors here (Dr. Nguyen and Dr. Orellana) got the travel documents wrong (and had the wrong information on our dog medical records). Secondly, at Hercules Pet Hospital specifically, one of the doctors on a routine vaccination visit for my older dog told me to get rid of one of my dogs. I mentioned to her that we had recently adopted a puppy to socialize our 9 year old dog that was getting checked up that day at the visit but it was off to a bit of a rocky start so far. I asked for advice and she told me to quote, "get rid of the puppy." She then narrated a whole personal story about HER family's experience trying to adopt a puppy to socialize their older german shepherd and how it became awful for them and they just "got rid of it" (the puppy). She advised that I do the same. No medical basis, not on breeds/temperaments, just "get rid of the puppy." She was very wrong and after some of my own research my dogs are getting along really well and playing with each other like brothers. Another bad experience I had at Hercules Pet Hospital was when I took my puppy (yes the same one) for vaccines. I was given all the standard vaccines, but when I went back for follow up I wasn't told that they have an internal (undisclosed) policy to give certain vaccines SOONER than the recommended or veterinary board approved timeline because its, quote, "good practice." When I insisted on waiting for the standard approved timeframe they drafted up a release of liability stating that I had refused the vaccine (even though my puppy already had the first shot), and tried to force me to sign it. When I refused they insisted that I get it our they would not treat us/give us the second shot. So I reluctantly agreed and paid an additional $150 or so for the visit when I hadn't planned to (financially) because the shot was not due. Another observation is their prices at Hercules Pet Hospital. For every visit, I have been charged WAY more than I anticipated based on the original work up. Their staff will talk you up and add unnecessary procedures and add ons to the medical service that your pet doesn't need (like unnecessary anesthesia or heavy anesthesia) to charge you more. Also, I observed that elderly black clients with older dogs have bills in the thousands compared to others, and I suspect that these clients are being "handled". I think they are being taken advantage of because of their age/race (and often because their dogs are long term companions so they are more desperate to keep them living). I submitted all this information to the VetnCare Medical Director, Dr. Andrew Moffatt, who has done nothing but gaslight and claim there's no proof of malpractice by their offices. The good thing is, I have hard copies of visit records. Dr. Moffatt has been asked to provide their malpractice provider multiple times but just keeps evading the question. That makes me think this is not the only time they have mis-treated animals or clients. Buyer beware. read more

We have been going to Disney Pet Hospital since we moved to Concord last year - our dog Buddy has had a few visits so far that have been great, but today really stood out. Buddy got to meet Dr. Crain today so that he could get some lumps and bumps checked out. I absolutely loved her, and more importantly Buddy loved her too. She was so sweet and thorough with his examination. Buddy is a sweet boy, but he is very nervous, especially at the vet - and I've never seen him as relaxed as I did today. She was so great with him. Special should out to the staff for always being so nice and inviting. Buddy had his teeth cleaned and an extraction done last June and it was a seamless experience. I was referred to this place by a friend. Coincidentally it is the closest office to my house. I was not happy with my longtime local vet (who's name I will not mention) and my other normal vet 2 towns over is so backed up they denied my animals the last 4 times I tried to have them seen and kept referring me to Sage. I knew it was time for a new vet! They have plenty of parking and a bunch of fruit trees and yard, cute and convenient for patients with dogs. They saw us same day for a drop off! My cat has had a reoccurring uti and my other vet had me give oral liquid which was difficult to administer as my cat is understandably squirmy and just spits it out. Disney gave her a shot for the same problem, I didn't even know this was an option! I'm happy and impressed! read more

I have been coming to Disney for a while with my chihuahua Faith. Dr. Tillman was the first vet she had here and she was always very thorough and attentive. She was great with explaining things as well. After she retired we continued to have the same great care with Dr. Nguyen and Dr. Crain. Faith was a senior dog with lots of issues but they respected our wishes in not making her suffer through an onslaught of tests and procedures and just supported us through hospice care for her. Our Faithy girl surprised us and that hospice care went on for over two years! She recently took a turn for the worse but I'm thankful to Dr. Nguyen for allowing us to come in even though I made a frantic call to Disney right before their closing time. The whole staff was very supportive and caring as we said goodbye to our beloved girl. We were so very blessed to have 18 years and 10 months with her. The only reason I deducted a star is that a mistake was made in her cremation. I do not know if this mistake was made on the part of Disney or with the place they use for the cremation services but it is a mistake that I am still deeply upset about. I had asked, as well as paid for and paw print to be done. When I picked up Faith when she returned from her cremation there was no paw print. It hadn't been done. Now I don't have that to remember her by. I was going to make a remembrance photo memorial of my two dogs with their paws in a heart but that will not happen now. Also, the vet tech that day had also told me that she would save some of Faith's fur for me so that I could use it for a keepsake. That, sadly, was not done either. I now have two new kittens and I will continue with Disney. Dr. Nguyen and Dr. Crain are excellent. Ever tried to move two large Pitbulls (ahem. Terrier mixes for the haters...) to Hawaii? Yeah. Me neither. Turns out it's a whole giant very carefully timed production to qualify for direct release. You will get very familiar with your vet - they'll be your BFF and trusted partner and if either of you miss a checkbox or fail to dot an I or cross a T - the whole elaborate and expensive theater might be for naught and your furfam is at risk of quarantine. It's expensive. As hell. That said - I did some price shopping and while my vet isn't the cheapest, they bought my confidence. We are 3/4 of the way thru the prep process and Disney has had my back (note- you'll need a minimum of 61 days from your initial appointment, and about $1500 per animal for the vet pieces - plus travel crates and baggage or cargo reservations - depending on breed and size, this can run up to another 1.5K per animal; in addition to copious amounts of paperwork and a couple hundred in processing fees.) The Disney team has been a true partner in helping me navigate this - they allow extra time for my mutts to make sure we have correct documentation, and are learning along with me. Rather than pretend to be expert in the ever changing requirements they've been clear that they will take the extra time and care to help me figure it out. It's been a helluva vet year for me - both this wild process and some unexpected (when are they ever expected??) emergency visits, and to my Disney friends - thank you for your expertise. shout out especially to the lovely tech Elizabeth - but every human I've interacted with has been beyond kind. Truly a pleasure. The level of expertise and equipment and supplies that go into being a true animal hospital- well, it just isn't cheap. (It's like the orthodontist- people may gripe - but did you really want a cut rate back alley installation on your kids teeth? Yeah. Maybe not.) From the moment we walked in the door until we closed the door behind us as we left - we were met with smiles, happy employees and a deeply caring vet! We came to Disney when Dr. Rothe was still there. After his death the staff seemed disjointed and I have to say we weren't very happy. But this last week we met Dr. Crain! What an incredible turn around! Dr. Crain is very knowledgeable and is truly interested in your pet. We never felt pressured to proceed with any tests we weren't interested in (a previous vet there made a statement saying "ok, well....I thought you cared more for your dog". Pie male dog who is nearly 100 pounds and looks intimidating was seen as the sweet boy he is and not one person there asked to muzzle him. I am LIVID right now with the how my cat's appointment went yesterday. Since we are going through the COVID-19 situation and I work in healthcare I was not able to take my cat in during the week as I am not able to take time off during this pandemic and they no longer have Saturday appointments. Since my cat injured his paw due to his nail catching on something, I scheduled him for a visit and asked my mom to take him in for me. She called to let them know she was there and someone came to take him inside. She then gets a call from the vet who accusingly asks her "Have you noticed how skinny your cat is? He's all skin and bones." She responds "yes, he was diagnosed by your office with hyperthyroidism and is on medication, have you reviewed his chart?" The vet says "Oh no, not yet" then places my mom on hold. So you mean to tell me that instead of reviewing his chart and COMPARING his previous weight to his current weight, you insinuate that we are neglecting our cat and starving him causing him to be "skin and bones?" The nerve!!!!!!!!!! She then comes back on the phone after reviewing his chart and says that since it's been about 6 months since his last set of labs she needs to do another panel to make sure his numbers are stable etc. she then says that she would also recommend the "Senior cat labs and that would be more pricey." Look, my cat is 16 years old. He had labs done 6 months ago and what we need to do is make sure he is stable and comfortable, we don't need to ALL the labs under the sun at this time. It's now totally OBVIOUS that this is MONEY MOTIVATED and not compassionate care anymore. Which is highly disappointing since the previous encounters we've had with this place were positive. My mom declined the "more pricey" senior labs and opted for the basic labs we got the last time. (Let me add that he got a first set of labs that were about $200 give or take and then a second set that was much less expensive and that was the set from 6 months ago) so since she said she was going to repeat the labs from "last time" we didn't think too much into it and my mom said ok. So still at this point no comment on the reason we brought him in. So my mom says "What about his paw?" And she responds "oh yeah, it's what you thought it was. His nail caught on something, did you want us to cut his nails?" My mom told them, no I'll do it at home (they charge like $27 just to clip nails and we always do it ourselves) the vet said she was giving him an injection of antibiotics and prescribing an ointment. Then someone else called my mom and asked which credit card she should charge it to and didn't give the price to my mom. My mom was kind of surprised they didn't give any details. Today she checked her bank statement and found they charged $479!!!!!!!!! That is insane. Seriously?!!! To treat a ripped nail with antibiotics and an ointment and test his thyroid?!!!!! How do these people get away with this?! Do they not feel at all horrible for overcharging people especially during this COVID-19 situation?! I am appalled and disappointed with not only how my poor mom was treated and made to feel as well as their ploy to squeeze as much money out of people as they possibly can. There is no way anyone should have to worry about getting their pet care when they are hurt because they are afraid of being charged some unreasonable amount. I left a voicemail for the OWNER to call me back. Come to think of it, every time I have actually went in for a visit they have always tried upselling me on random things and I guess I have been naive and willing (because I love my dog) and just obey and go with it. Very disappointed with our visit. We just rescued our pup and scheduled our wellness check at Disney. I saw many positive reviews on Nextdoor for Disney. Our free wellness check was almost $200 out the door Our receipt says ask for referral to a specialist. No mention of this at appointment. A basic google search says a wellness check should involve questions about diet, thirst, breathing, behavior, elimination patterns, lifestyle, and general health. Also says fecal exam should take place. None of this happened... Plus- there should be a separate cat and dog waiting room. Staff seemed clueless while we were there. Many people came in to pickup food or prescriptions for their pets- this seemed to be a problem for the people working the reception desk. Another clue should have been that they had a ton of appointment slots available between Christmas and New Years. We won't be back- ever. read more

When Dr Rothe owned Disney Pet Hospital he was outstanding. We always rated him 5 Stars! We went to him with all of our pets for years! He never recommended overly expensive treatments or medications that would only buy a very little time for the pet, (especially an old pet) like some vets do. He truly loved the animals rather than being primarily profit driven. But he became ill, sold the business, and later (sadly) he died. Bless his heart. He is sorely missed! Our experience with Dr Pisanelli has been good, but our experience with Dr. Tilleman has been disappointing. She promises to call with results or information on our dog's condition, but then she forgets. We have been going to Disney pet for the last year or two. We have two pugs there around nine years old. With them we have had a hard time finding a good, caring, nonjudgmental veterinarian and staff. This place is amazing! My female pug recently injured her Eye And needed it to be removed. The staff and veterinarian's were so sweet, kind and gentle with my baby girl. I highly recommend this place to anyone that is looking for excellent care without judgment, ridicule, overprescribing or pushing things you don't want to do. This use to be a great vet...but the great vets left and I believe Disney joined some corporate conglomerate. So many bad experiences recently. Today was the last straw. My cat has been vaccinated against feline leukemia since she was old enough for the vaccine and now they are insisting she have a blood test before giving her the booster! They refused to give her the booster without the $85 test. I have owned cats for 40 years and I am a doting mom to them. I keep up on vaccinations and exams...I've never encountered a vet that insisted on giving my cat a blood test before a booster shot!Like I said, this place has been spiraling down and this is just the final straw. What upsets me most is vets should be keeping in mind, when they price gouge, people think twice about adopting the many animals that desperately need a loving home! We will be changing vets. read more

Disney came recommended by a couple people in a breed specific Facebook group. I was very optimistic when I booked our first appointment for our puppy. I stuck it out for two appointments- one shot/vet exam appt and one leptospirosis vax appointment. Mind you... I have other pets that have been life long patients with another vet that is farther away so I'm familiar with how vets and pets work in general AND how they've been operating with COVID. We just wanted to establish the pup with a vet closer to home. Anyway, Disney office staff is polite to deal with. However, for a simple shot appointment to take an hour? And for the young lady to leash and try to walk the unvaccinated pup inside ( I stopped her and was like uh? What?!) And for pup to need a tooth extracted and I can't get a call back after three messages or a returned email to schedule it for over a week? I had to call AGAIN? To then have the vet get on the phone and say "we've played phone tag"? There was no tag, I was put off for over a week. And to boot, I am the one that discovered the need for the extraction not the vet during the initial exam? When I emailed the photos she said didn't have anything in her notes. Well, then it wasn't a very thorough exam I guess. While waiting on hold to schedule the extraction I had the "what am I doing? I have no faith here. This office isn't touching him again" moment and hung up. I'm done. Wish I had looked over yelp prior to even the first appointment. Seems I'm not the only one to recently feel like neither my pet nor my business matter much. Headed bak to the office where things are timely professional straightforward and caring! read more
