Will require a lot of touch up. Destroyed a refrigerator by moving too fast through tight spacing. Did not reassemble our dining table, just rushed away. Their boss sat in car in front of both houses. Never offered to introduce themselves and of course wouldn't acknowledge the destroyed refrigerator. I cannot believe how quickly $129 an hour becomes $250 an hour. It would be one thing if you got professional service at least, but they don't even offer that. They are unapologetic about the fees they tack on at the end of your move. Funny thing is, they didn't finish. I have items they dropped in the living room and never took upstairs. They did manage to smoke some weed while driving between locations though. PLEASE READ BEFORE ENGAGING WITH THIS COMPANY! THIS IS A FRAUDULENT COMPANY - IT IS A SCAM! This was by far the most awful moving experience I have ever encountered and have hired movers 10+ times over the past 15 years (for both myself and my mother). Two movers showed up (on time) to move my disabled mother from a 1 bedroom assisted living to another AL. After the two "employees" rushed through moving the apartment items (broke items, damaged items, throwing boxes)-there was a small storage unit (less than half full) to move as well (this was discussed when they first arrived). Once at the storage unit-they decided they were not going to move the remaining 11 items (boxes) from the storage unit, got in their truck and sat, refusing to get out or work. I was completely dumbfounded. I called the number on the truck for the office to see if they were able to assist. The "office manager" (I use this term loosely) JR told me it was unreasonable to ask the movers to move all of the items in the storage unit-as there was no more room on the truck (see pic below-plenty of room). The movers then proceeded to DRIVE OFF with my mother's belongings! I was left with no option, but to follow the truck and call the local police to discuss how to handle this incomprehensible situation. There were four different sheriff/police departments involved and all requested the license plate. Half of the license plate had been scratched off or removed. The "employees" proceeded to a storage facility off Pendleton Pike and locked the truck behind a gated fence and refused to return the items OR finish the moving job. The local Lawrence police were not able to assist, as it became a civil matter at that point; however, one officer did tell me they are at this location multiple times/week for similar issues with this moving company. The men "working" (standing around smoking/cursing), including JR "office manager" said they refused to return any items until we paid them $765 in CASH (ONLY cash-keeps it unreportable) AND would need to find another moving company to complete the move. This company took all (but the 11 items from storage)-fled in the truck and locked them behind a gate-held as ransom until they were paid cash. We were able to contact the owner, Josh Baxter, who proceeded to tell us he doesn't care about customers, customer service and we were interrupting his vacation. JR-who I was able to contact via phone, told me (quoting verbatim) "I live for this sh!t, taking out b!tches and Karen's like you" I am still unsure what his intentions and assault mean, but this location is behind a large building, gated off and NOT visible from the street. Being a female alone-I was extremely uncomfortable and would not get out of my vehicle unless the police were there or until my husband arrived. We found another moving company who indicated they routinely get calls to step in for this EXACT issue. The 2nd moving company was excellent and moved the items from the fraudulent vehicle to their truck. Here to There Movers also kept ALL the bolts and screws for my mother's furniture. It appears based on other reviews, the mission of the company is to prey on disabled or elderly individuals, load enough items that the customer's only option is to follow their commands, STEAL their belongings, drive off, hold them "hostage" and demand a ransom-which they say MUST be paid in cash only. These business practices are not legal. I don't post reviews online-but I wanted to share our story, if even to help ONE other family not be defrauded by this group of scam artists. The absolute WORST movers I ever experienced. The head mover was extremely rude. They ripped my couch. When I asked about he said "they were f**cked up anyway". When I told the owner he didn't say anything until I told them I was apart of the boner center. His whole attitude changed. In my opinion if one is paying $1000.00 for a move it should be done correctly no matter if it's a private move or with the boner center. The movers refused to move glass tables, mirrors amongst things. When they dropped the furniture off they just threw it on the ground don't even sit it up right. All the boxes were labeled as to where they should go they put everything in the kitchen. If you have a 3 bedroom, they make you get a three man crew but only one man will be working at a time. I recently used Here To There Movers for a move from Indiana to North Carolina. I recommend them highly. My contact was John Fries in the Indianapolis office. (He goes by the nickname JR.) JR told me that they are low stress movers. This turned out to be true. Before the move, I didn't know him at all. If I had known him better, I would have brought up and discussed some other options with him and they would have made my move even more stress free. (For instance, I wish that I had brought up with him the option of them moving our car.) I called him rather late in the process. He came right away, looked at the contents of my apartment in Indiana, and gave me a price that was very competitive. On the moving day, they came on time and did a good job of moving. Did everything go perfectly? No. The driver did not know that the contents of my garage have to be moved. JR knew this but this was not communicated to the driver. There was room in the truck but the driver would have preferred to load in a different order if he knew that the garage contents also have to be moved. He complained and there was some unpleasantness. I wish that I had anticipated this problem and given the driver a list of all the rooms that need to be moved. On the receiving end, I had the same driver for the unloading. My apartment in North Carolina screwed up in getting the apartment ready for unloading. This certainly was NOT Here To There Movers' fault. Understandably, the driver complained again. However, I wish that he had been a little more flexible and given me more options when there was a delay, possibly at an additional charge. He did not. However, in spite of these two problems, everything was moved well. I gave the driver a good tip. (Looking back, I probably was a bit overly generous.) Rudest group of managers I've ever encountered. They continued to charge me for months after I moved out. When I called to clear up the "mistake", I was met with accusations of lying and creating a scam. And this was after I sent them all the documentation they had sent me 5 months before when I moved out. I also had my moving company contact them and they haven't responded to them either. The woman on the phone, Carrie, told me she was going to tell her boss not to pay me the money they stole. She also said she spoke to me last month and that is a complete lie. There has been zero communication since the day I moved out. Then the manager lied and said he would return my call, but instead "left for the day" and the staff would not give me his contact info. BEWARE! They charge more than they quote. DO NOT HIRE- worst decision we have made was to hire this company to move a hot tub 10 miles. Free standing hot tub moved from a slab to a slab (easy). Took them less than an hour. HOWEVER, I called the company multiple times to get a quote for moving the hot tub 4 times prior to scheduling. Every time I got a different quote. Anywhere from $300-$375 every call. I decided to book anyways and assumed at most we would pay $375. When the dropped the hot tub at its final location the man informed me they charge extra on Fridays!!!!! Ended up paying $430. So for anyone wanting a hot tub moved. Even though they say the cost is anywhere from $300-375 you can expect to pay much more. Especially if they charge more for certain days (which they don't tell you when scheduling). Bonus there is a $10 booking fee. My husband called (he is much nicer and more calm when talking to people) and asked to speak to a manager (Jeff I believe his name is) regarding the poor service and to let him now that his staff are not giving out correct information and he HUNG UP (HUNG UP?!?!) on my husband. They were quite efficient at getting my items loaded. They broke a piece of trim on my stairs and didn't offer to fix it. When we got to my storage unit I asked furniture be put in first , they said no problem and then didn't . I cant access half my storage boxes if needed.They had to shove my sectional under the pull down and it blocked it from opening , called them and they wouldn't make it right or return my phone calls. Since I needed in the unit I had to ask the help of a skinny friend to squeeze under and get it pushed out of the way. So yeah won't be using them again. read more

Absolutely terrible experience start to finish. The movers did not listen to what we asked them to do, moved items we did not want moved and didn't have enough space left for items we did need moved. They stacked heavy boxes on top of fragile items, damaged many of our Items and multiple pieces of furniture, gouged baseball sized chunkS of drywall out of our walls; scratched our hardwood floors in both houses, bent our copper plumbing main water line by ramming something into it, played around and wasted time throughout, asked inappropriate questions, left a huge mess everywhere they went, were rude, and inflated material costs by charging me for almost full rolls of shrink wrap they used once then left around the house. Not a single redeeming quality about this moving experience with Here to There movers beyond the fact that some of our items survived unbroken. I've called their customer service twice within 24 hours of our move and left a voicemail with no reply about 12 hours ago. I've yet to hear back from them. I'm not one to leave a review for anything online but when you go through an experience as bad as the one I had I felt like I needed to add to the list of 1 star reviews this company already has. Like all other reviews state, they will be late, by hours without any update as to when they'll actually get there. I'm just judging this by the two guys that came to my place so I can't say all the workers there are bad, but these guys were the least professional, laziest people I've ever witnessed doing any job period. I helped them the entire time loading the truck because once I saw how poorly they started loading it, I realized they weren't going to fit all my stuff in one trip. I literally got in the truck and rearranged everything so it could fit without having to take a second trip. I'm not exaggerating when I say they took their first smoking break within 15 minutes of being there. When you pay someone hundreds of dollars an hour to work for you, this is just terrible work ethic. I understand taking breaks, but these guys were just plain lazy. So they loaded with no care whatsoever and ended up breaking my desk and my dresser in the process. At the end of the move, I'm so fed up with their work I refused to pay until I got assurance that I will be reimbursed. This is when I went online and realized that this is their entire business model. Move as slow as possible to rack up the hours and then break everything you own without reimbursing you. I started reading the horror stories of people trying to get their things fixed only to see that they never follow up on that either. The next day I decided to fix the items myself because I didn't want to wait 3 months for them to send someone out to do it. I found their office and showed them the receipt for the tools I purchased to fix them and they did reimburse me for that. Stay away from these scammers. Day of Service started okay. Head mover introduced the team and explained the steps for the move. He then explained to me how the tipping system works - not required, but much appreciated. During move into new home, one guy stacked boxes very high and the top box fell to the floor with the crash. I picked it up and asked that they not stack the boxes so high. A few weeks later I finally unpacked the box that had fallen. It contained dishes from my grandmother. Filed a complaint with the company. After almost three months of repeated phone calls to the office, they FINALLY agreed to pay for the damaged property ... at $6/pound for 10 pounds of busted up dishes and glasses. Despite having 3 people, It took nearly 6 hours to move a 2 bedroom apartment 5 miles within Charlotte. Far too slow due to numerous smoke breaks and getting "lost" on the drive over. When we got to the storage unit the opened the back and the truck was only half full. They quickly threw my stuff into the storage unit and then asked for my card. I was very disappointed with the lack of customer service this company provides. We used them for a move and they had a 3 man crew. While unloading they tried to get done ASAP, so they were carrying items by themselves that should have been carried by 2 people. They caused a lot of wall ding damage in the process. I have called Customer Service 5 times now and never get a call back. Turned out, they went to the afternoon appointment first, and the morning appointment, ME, got sloppy seconds. The minimal crew was polite and hard working and already spent upon arrival. This was the worst moving experience I've had. There were so many awful things that happened. Perhaps the worst: a piece of lacquer from my Z Gallerie living room side table completely chipped off in the moving process. When I inquired about it, the movers said it was there before. I know it was not. Lets just say, I have a one-bedroom apartment and know my "stuff." The movers were two hours late getting to my place in Carmel due to a truck breaking down. They had to rent a U-Haul. The U-Haul was much smaller than the truck they usually use. Therefore, it took a lot longer to get my stuff to fit inside the U-Haul. They had to keep reconfiguring, taking out, putting back in. And of course, they charge customers by time. This reconfiguring tacked on at least an hour to the moving day. And big costs. When I called the home office the next day to provide feedback on the tardiness and the U-Haul situation, they didn't offer any help. They merely said they fixed the situation of a broken down truck by getting the U-Haul and wouldn't recognize the add-ons in time and cost, not to mention the damaged table. To boot, the movers complained the entire process due to the small-ish apartment elevator and narrow hallways. It's a one bedroom apartment, c'mon, it can't be too hard! They scratched my ceiling, and their solution was "its not that noticeable, it will only take some popcorn paint.", well that is fine, but you did it. They took several breaks, and complained -- about the job, about the weather, about the weight of the furniture, about their manager. They asked if they could have some of my ex-husbands possessions when I told them the reason for the move was a divorce, apparently it is common practice for them to scam items off of people. Do I really have to give them any star?? Had I checked Yelp before our move I would know BUYER BE WARE!!!! They were hour and half late. At least they showed. They bragged about how careful they are. They would put down boxes or blankets to protect flooring. That was never done! The house we moved from had multiple scuff and gouge marks on the wall and floors and broke an antique phone. When they arrived at our new house they made multiple scuff and gouge marks on wall. They broke the base on a gun cabinet. Broke our flat screen tv. The tv response was how old is it and do we have the receipt. They do not return calls! Called daily for a week and do not return calls. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! read more
