    A MAGIC tournament!
    Mindy C.

The owner Scott was extremely nice and patient with teaching me how to play Star Trek Attack Wing; multiple times he had to explain the rules and symbols. Occasionally he even made suggestions on what I should do; basically a copilot or an advisor. Despite being confused and losing it was plenty fun. By the third game I played with the staff and friends, I got the hang of it. The store is open, bright, and very clean! There was so much variety of games it could almost be overwhelming! But the staff was so knowledgable and friendly it doesn't even matter!

    Neat receipt!

Super clean, inviting store with large open areas (a rarity in this kind of store). Friendly and knowledgeable staff who welcome everyone who enters with refreshing hospitality. Looking forward to having a place to not only buy but also PLAY games close to San Francisco.

This spacious little shop is located in downtown San Bruno in between Busy Bakers and Cleo's Brazilian Steakhouse. Only street parking or public parking lots available. Geared towards games only, there's actually no comics here which really surprised me since most shops is half a comic book store and half boardgames. They have open board games if you want to try any out on the many available tables. They also sell Bundaberg drinks! Third toy store in a day to try to find 2 card games on the way to a birthday party in S. San Francisco. Looked around but was never greeted even though there were only a few people playing a game at one of the tables. Found one of the card games we were looking for here (FINALLY!) in a tiny corner by the register. We were about to leave too but I spotted it right as we were exiting. Picked up one of two copies left of One Night Warewolf for $25. It's kind of like Mafia if you've never played. GREAT party game since you can have lots of players. The gentleman at the cashier offered to place a specialty order for the other game we were looking for (Coup), but the shop is too far away from where my BF lives for it to be convenient. Great place to check out.

A miniature Scott threw in with my paint purchase :)

Got a PIC programer and some other various things. After he moved to the current location thats closer to the airport I continue to buy things from him, usually emergencies when I'm short a part or have a rush on something. Hobby Engineering has a searchable website so you can see what he has in stock. The IMIM store hours are what I would nicely say Quasi-Predictable. He's basically running two businesses at the same time by himself and most business is through the mail-order/warehouse side of things however you can really tell he wants to have a storefront. I know currently he's trying for regular Saturday hours but its always best to read the website instructions. When I need something I check the website, then I call to see when he'll be around. If I'm in a rush after confirming he'll be there I'll place the order online and pay for it as a Will-Call and swing by. He has also been incredible in the past and met me at weird or late hours to pick something up. The IMIM store itself is on the second floor and he's making good progress on it as of my last visit. Quite a bit of hobby-related stuff on the shelves to browse. His speciality seems to be Robotics but a lot of general model making supplies around too. Not some much on display for general electronics but the warehouse is just downstairs so if you know he has it in stock and he doesn't have bunches of customers upstairs he has no issues grabbing parts from the warehouse. I have to reiterate, you need to read the website. Local store. One person. Hard to cover everything by himself. My hope ( and I'm sure Al's ) is that the storefront gets enough traction to warrant an employee. He's got a bunch of space and a lot of possibility.

Realizing that the store had some idiosyncratic operating procedures, I called the number on the web site. The person who answered was positively discouraging of a visit. He wanted to know what I was working on, and told me that he didn't really have any stock out to look at. I suspect that this is really a mail-order business, and references to it as a retail outlet are misinformed It would be nice if the owner changed his website to reflect that fact.

This store is tucked in the mall on the 2nd floor not too far from the Food Court and Target. I even remember meeting Klay Thompson and other Golden State Warriors current and past players when they used to be at Tanforan Mall. The team working at this store is great, especially DJ who is very helpful and knowledgeable of the products he sells The store gets fairly busy, however, DJ is always attentive to his customers and makes it a point to help the customers find what they want/need. The store is very clean and organized. The prices there are reasonable and I never leave the store without making a purchase! Never found myself dissatisfied with any of their items! But then I went down a whole rabbit hole of why you shouldn't do business with these guys. They are very shady business men. The owner, Nelson, is a reseller who uses bots to get items (Pokemon TCG, Pop Mart, etc) and resell for a profit. He opens the boxes and claims all the best value figures and cards, then sells the common ones to unsuspecting shop customers. Then when he has too many common figures and cards, he offloads them in the form of "conventions". It's the best scam: charge people an entrance fee and still overcharge people for common boxes that are worth much less online. This is why his cons are every 3 months. This is the best way to offload common figures while still making money off of ticket sales and up charges. You will not find any secrets or valuable cards at Fugitive Toys. The boxes and packs have all been resealed with the rare stuff already taken. If you want to resell your funkos, they will offer $1 or two, then turn around and resell for 6x the profit. Nelson is notorious for kicking out people from his conventions. Multiple people have come forward with talking about racial profiling and Nelson using poor excuses to kick people out of his conventions. See one story below. People have also complained that vending there is not worth doing there. Sales are slow and the vending prices to secure a spot are $300 to $700. That's a lot higher than more established conventions. Hype Con and Fugitive Toys are both also very disorganized when it comes to their schedule as well. At cons, their doors never open on time. At fugitive toys, they will close on random days without warning or note. Don't support any Hype Con hosted events, and definitely don't do business with Fugitive Toys. They're scam artists, and they need to be investigated.
