It has that nostalgic charm that makes you want to take your time and dig around for hidden gems. The worker inside was super friendly and welcoming, and I appreciated being able to browse at my own pace. Prices were fair, and the selection included everything from well-known classics to more obscure finds you don't see too often. The store is owned by The Record Man next door, which focuses more on vinyl records, so it's a nice combo if you're into all kinds of physical media. There's a small parking lot between the two shops which makes it convenient to check out both in one stop. I ended up finding a few cool items to add to my collection and will definitely come back whenever I'm in the area treasure hunting.

All records in here are just $5, which made buying here an absolute treat. I walked out with 4 LPs for the price of a lunch. The two gentlemen at the front desk were very friendly. They went in the back to look for Pet Shop Boys and Depeche Mode when I asked, and brought out CDs even though they did not have the vinyls. It turns out they are attached to the neighboring Record Man store, and they suggested I look there for LPs. I would definitely come back and highly recommend!

In terms of selection I think they have a good selection on the retro and modern games and consoles which made me spend even more time in the shop! They also have other things like pokemon sealed products and single cards which I assume they are selling at market price and toys like Funko pops and figurines. As a casual collector and lover of video games, I'm happy with the amount and variety of product that is offered and staff here are friendly everytime I come so I'm happy to recommend this shop to anyone in the nearby area :)

It's located in a small strip mall I've passed by in Milpitas and glad we stopped by. It was amazing to see such a large crowd of people coming in and out, it just made me feel like people still appreciate physical hardware. This feeling was acknowledged when I saw a row of CRT TVs for sale and how much better the games looked on their intended non-held hardware. They have a little bit of everything retro and have games ranging from loose to in box, it was cool seeing so many games I grew up with. The most nostalgic systems were the NES and SNES for me. Prices were not and and barely above market though my kids did notice the Pokemon stuff was marked very high. Staff was great and asked me for my requests and immediately looked it up. They also tried giving me free snes clear boxes but they were out of stock.

The people…read morewho work here are perfectly nice, though I feel bad that they are forced to push Gamestop membership on customers past the first few "No thanks yous." I was given a $25 gift card. I wasn't able to use it online, which was my first issue. I figured it would work better in store, so I delayed picking up a new game (Lego Batman!) so that I could use my gift card on it. I came in today, and they didn't have the game (even though it was released about 2 weeks ago). I was offered the game on a console I don't have. Brick-and-mortar store, you had one job. I eventually settled on buying a Mario Galaxy Amiibo. The first register wouldn't take the card, the second register also wouldn't take it. The employee told me to call the customer service number (vs trying to help me resolve this). I went outside and did it, and the automated system told me that there was an error with my gift card and to go back into the store to resolve it. I had zero confidence that spending more time on this would resolve anything so I gave up. Another thing I noticed was that there were 4-5 employees around doing things but somehow I ended up waiting in line for a long time. Will definitely be avoiding spending my money here. As I was giving up on Gamestop I placed an online order for Lego Batman for pickup at Best Buy on my way home.

Everything is priced very fairly and competitive with mainstream retailers, online platforms, and even other retro game shops. They do it all here: retro and new video games, consoles, trading cards, plushies, accessories, and more. I feel truly lucky to have found this spot. It's officially my new go-to for anything gaming-related, whether I need something ASAP, want to get a game disc resurfaced, or just want to pop in and see what's new. Their backroom looks like it's bursting with even more treasures and I'm excited to see how they grow over time. I wish San Francisco had more places like this because the city is really lacking when it comes to true video game stores. We don't even have a Gamestop anymore in the heart of the city. The closest video game store is in Stonestown, which can be very inconvenient to get to. They also have some awesome free-to-play arcade setups and welcome people to just hang out inside, which gives the place a really laid-back, community vibe. If you're looking for a specific game or system and they don't have it, they'll even take your number and give you a call once they track it down. Such a thoughtful touch. I especially love their preowned deals like the buy two, get one free promo for games priced $11.99 or less. I can't wait to come back for my next haul.

Seemed to work fine to me, but my kid found a problem with the contrast and/or screen when he tried to play Christmas morning. We took it back to the location on Campbell Ave where I bought it. Showed the manager/owner and provided receipts. He said they would fix the DS because it was sold "refurbished." He said it would be ready in a few weeks, after the new year, and took my contact into. Never heard back. Called the store after the first month came and went. No answer. Months go by and my kid keeps asking about it. I keep calling the location but then I read on their instagram that the shop is permanently closed. But they they're still doing business online. So I reach out to their instagram and email the address on their Shopify, where in fact they are now selling a metallic blue DS, just like the one I bought in December! Still no reply. Hope to hear back now that I'm posting about this problem.
