Seyo greeted me and assured me that he could do the restoration of my great grandmother's painting with the 2" hole in it. I was hopeful based on all the reviews so I decided to go for it. About three weeks after dropping it off, the painting was patched, cleaned, the frame reinforced and it was better than I can ever remember it looking in 55 years. I am thrilled with the job Seyo did restoring my oil painting that I brought from Paris. It had fallen from above the mantle. As it fell, it was impaled on a statue, and the canvas was shredded. When I inherited an incredibly beautiful but damaged, 126-year-old landscape painting from my loving Aunt, I knew it came to me with a responsibility.  This legacy masterpiece needed to be repaired, restored, and stabilized.  The canvas itself was an impressive 24 x 36-inch size and had linseed oil pressed onto the original varnish, multiple tears and places where paint had been rubbed off in addition to a very badly cracked original frame from 1895.  Complicating all of this was a layer of tobacco staining from years of exposure.  This painting is priceless to me because it was my Aunt's and she had loved it for years.  I researched very carefully and of all the renovation experts in a radius of 200 miles of my home, I very easily determined that Seyo Cizmic was the only person I would trust with this task. I brought in an oil painting that had sat in storage for years, sometimes in over 100 degree temperatures. It had a yellow hue over it and some brown spots from a frame having shifted. Some former attempts to touch it up changed certain parts for the worse. They explained what they were going to do for each problem and gave me a reasonable written, signed quote. Seyo is a true gentleman as a well as a skilled artist. His combination of talent, education and decades of experience are a gift to his customers. In my case, I sought his assistance with removing a centuries-old painting from its frame to reveal possible information about the artist. His first reaction was to the frame itself, informing me that it was real gold leaf and likely worth in the thousands of dollars. Then his eye turned to the painting and he showed me where two little tears had been previously repaired, and how the linen canvas has been preserved. Once he replaced the painting into its frame, I pulled out my wallet to compensate him for his time. Some years back I inherited four pieces of my grandmother's artwork that my mother found folded and forgotten underneath a bed. My grandmother did not save a lot of her work, so I knew I'd come into possession of something rare and priceless. They were all torn, creased, frail and generally in poor condition. Still, they mean more to me than I could ever articulate. I knew that having any work done to them would be a gamble; in the wrong person's hands, they would be destroyed. I toiled for a long time over whether to entrust them to anyone for restoration. After exhaustive research, I chose Heritage (operated by Seyo) for the restoration and Dove Framing (operated by David) to frame and protect the restored pieces. From the outset of the restoration process, Seyo's knowledge and expertise radiated. Not only did he describe what the restoration would entail, he also described measures he would take to ensure the safety of the pieces. He instilled a sense of confidence and security that only a fellow artist could have achieved. The final restored works are beyond description. I took three paintings and one charcoal drawing in, and all four pieces look absolutely incredible. "Magic." "Wow." "I don't believe it." These are phrases Seyo evoked from me.
