I've been going to Dovetail Boutique Consignment since its initial opening. I absolutely love this…read moreconsignment shop. Beautifully decorated! Once a week, usually, I go there, as they always have new items, plus, their prices on items are respectfully honest. After reading the negative reviews, I feel I should stand up for this beautiful consignment shop. The reason being I had my own business on the coast for five years. I started out with all my own items. My mom who lived in Colorado would send me boxes of things to sell. She called them care packages and she never wanted a penny for them. The shop did fantastic in the beginning, but when I started doing consignment for people, I didn't realize how tough it was going to be. I was the only employee in the beginning and there were days, I was so exhausted that I had to close my shop on the days that I was open. That was the hardest part knowing I was disappointing customers. People would leave things outside in front of my shop door and some of it was trash. Yet, there were people who donated items they didn't want money for just to keep me going. These are memories I treasure. I wish people would understand that we have a limited amount of shops like this in NAPA and they're all wonderful. And we have lots and lots of people who want to earn money on their items as times are hard- my point being on this is ..we are willing to get rid of and to let go of our items. Yes, there were glitches in the beginning and ever since I have seen a 100% improvement in Dovetail Consignment Boutiques. I have brought them hundreds and hundreds of feet of bubble wrap to help them package items that are precious to customers that they have purchased.. No one realizes that have never had a shop like this to understand how really, really tough it is and I think they have been vigilant in working out and correcting the issues and problems developing this wonderful store. It takes great patience, perseverance, blood sweat, and tears to meet the Public expectations and demands. I wish people were more patient and understanding. I will always support this shop. As well as the other's in shops in town. This comes from my heart and I wish the reviews weren't as negative as they've become because they don't deserve it. Thank you for reading this. I hope it helps the shop and the customers..

Lots of fun pieces for sale. Walked around the store for 10…read moreminutes, I was only customer in the store. Staff/ owners never greeted me. No big deal. But when another lady walked in and they welcomed her. I left the store. Napa is still a small town, locals are your bread and butter.

Community projects thrift is actually a very good thrift shop. It's well rounded. It has many…read morecategories of products, such as clothing for both men women and children. A selection of China that ranges from vintage/high-quality to more ordinary items with high kitchen value. I've certainly purchased my share of mixing bowls and measuring cups. The clothing is a little bit more hit and miss. I tend to show up when the entire store is 50% off and by the time you do that the store has been picked over. So my impression of the clothing area is worn with very unexciting brands. The book section isn't too bad. I'm a big fan of cookbooks and gardening books. There was actually a quite decent selection of both. But let's face it my home library of both has a better than decent selection. I always succumb to the fabrics. I can't resist something beautiful no matter how tiny the swatch. The stationary section is usually quite useful. I'm always running out of a little bit of this and that and this particular section always has a little bit of this and that. Usually, I run into at least one appliance where I think I might need it, but not right now, but the price is so compelling that I'm tempted to buy it just as a backup. However, space considerations put a quick stop to this type of thinking. The truth is, I always find a lot of stuff that is very compelling, but I'm unable to buy it because I have no place to store it. On the other hand, I've discovered that Napa has so many outstanding thrift stores that community projects thrift is slowly fading into the background. I'm a bit sorry about this because clearly I have a soft spot for this thrift. But realistically, it's a very well, run thrift, that fits a specific niche. It will take care of a good part of anyone's Thrifting strategy. But there are thrifts that are so outstanding, that community projects clearly cannot compete. If you want a thrift that is also well rounded, but with more selection ( not necessarily better.) consider Eco thrift in Vallejo. If you want a very large thrift that specializes in furniture, dining room, supplies for renovation, home building. You need to go to Habitat for humanity ReStore. It literally has no competition. If you want extremely high-end, unique, designer clothing, and absolutely superb home accessories you must go to American Cancer discovery shop in Napa. Yes it's kind of pricey for a thrift. On the other hand, the odds that you'll find items of this quality in any other thrift are low to none. Goodwill in Napa was an eye-opening experience for me. My previous experience with Goodwill was, lack of any quality products, surprisingly high prices for well, I thought of it as crap. This particular Goodwill is extremely well stocked with clothing, primarily for men and women. The quality of the clothing beats the eco thrift, Sutter, Solano, and community projects thrift. It sure beats hunting for that one item that is of acceptable quality, style, and fit, and reasonable price. There isn't enough space for the other items that you expected a thrift. Small selection of books, almost 0 selection of furniture, tiny selection of electronics, even the knickknacks were puny. I was surprised by the amount of luggage. Some of the pieces were actually kind of desirable except I have all the luggage I need. All in all I would not bother with this thrift except to hunt for some nice clothes. I love the Echo Shop in Saratoga. The major reason why I hardly ever buy clothing at any other thrift is because of the Echo Shop. My wardrobe is completely stuffed with clothing that I adore. Just fair warning, first I became a customer, then I became a donor, then I volunteered, and then they elected me to the board. So obviously, I am deeply invested in this store. And for those of you who are either on a super tight budget or just love, amazing bargains, go to the Sutter Solano thrift in Vallejo. It's pretty small so the selection is limited, but the prices are the lowest I have ever seen. Their regular prices are lower than the biggest discount I have ever encountered at any other thrift.

Ok, this Thrift Shop is in Downtown Napa, it was quite busy on a Saturday. Parking be a little…read morechallenging but worth walking a block or so. Super friendly staff. My wife found two flannel shirts that are of great quality and will be warm during our chilly weather. Pricing was fair, my guess is 50% off of retail. It's a not a big shop like a Goodwill or Salvation, but it's larger the a boutique Thrift Shop. 1st room is mostly clothing, second room is books, dvds, CDs , houseware and electronics. (Very limited electronics). I did find a nice Cheese Knife Set for my Charcuterie collection Staff was super friendly. % Recommend
