I went back the next day for my check up and I had 20/20 vision! I would highly recommend going to Heritage Eye Center for all your eye needs.

I had cataracts removed and new lens implants. I gave them a three rating because the staff was…read morefriendly, and the surgery went (mostly) well. Here's where everything went wrong: the billing was an absolute mess! First, they charged the wrong credit card, and then additional costs started coming in. The billing contact (woman) was rude and had zero communication skills. When we would call to set up a payment plan and resolve mistakes, no one EVER answered the phone. Calls always went to voicemail, and we wouldn't hear back for weeks. Also, in the middle of my recovery period, they decided to drop our insurance company, so follow-up appointments went from $0 out-of-pocket to $300!! They should have been included!! I had to rush to find a new in-network eye doctor to monitor my healing process. EYESIGHT CARE IS CRITICAL!! This is very expensive eye surgery, and insurance doesn't cover most of the cost. Make sure you understand the additional costs before you proceed. They add up! And again, their billing department is a joke! The estimate was $9,500. The actual out-of-pocket cost was about $15,000.

My son is autistic, and I informed the staff of his disability before his exam. During the vision…read moretesting, he was instructed to press his head against the machine while following multiple directions at the same time. The medical assistant--a tall, slim woman with dark hair--was very rude, impatient, and appeared frustrated with him. She stopped the exam midway and told my son, as if he were an adult, that if he did not cooperate and follow instructions, he would not be allowed to see the doctor. This was completely inappropriate, especially considering she had been informed of his disability beforehand. Ultimately, the doctor had to step in and complete the vision testing because she was unable to properly perform the exam. The doctor was professional, patient, and understanding, and I greatly appreciated her efforts. However, the office staff is clearly not adequately trained to work with children or individuals with special needs. Families with disabilities deserve compassionate, patient, and properly trained staff. This type of behavior is unacceptable and should be addressed to prevent other children from having a similar experience.

This office is not billing or understands the proper billing practices in regards to submitting…read moreinsurance claims to the insurance company. Upon my visit on 03-05-2025, I was told that in order to have my insurance cover this visit as a whole (i.e. the claim), the eye pressure test would have to be completed. If this test was opted out of, then I would become a cash pay patient. There are both procedural codes and diagnosis codes, insurance will pay on any submitted claims as long as these services covered by the policy. If a service or test is opted out of, the facility should not submit that on the claim to the insurance company. The so called prescription fee is not necessary of $50 dollars is not required BECAUSE there is no separate insurance billing code specifically for writing a prescription; in most cases, the act of writing a prescription is considered part of an overall patient encounter and is included within the billing code for the office visit (E/M code) itself, meaning you would bill based on the level of complexity of the patient encounter, not just the prescription written. I am currently working w/Aetna insurance (my carrier) to investigate and hopefully pull their contract ASAP. This office should be a shammed of these practices.

OnExperience Review My overall experience with this eye…read moreclinic was disappointing and frustrating. From the very beginning, the process felt like being on a conveyor belt--shuffled from room to room, with a different technician each time, and very little personal attention. When it came time to meet the doctor to select my lens, I never received a clear breakdown of the options. Instead, I was given a handwritten note showing only the most expensive and the lowest- priced choices. I wasn't entirely sure what I was choosing but ended up selecting the most expensive option. The second eye surgery was delayed by a week, which pushed back the time I could start using the new lenses. I left the appointment without any instructions for a follow-up. When I called the office to confirm, I was given incorrect information. On my next visit, after going through the same conveyor belt process, a doctor I had not scheduled with examined me and said my eyes were too dry to proceed, requiring another reschedule. The scheduler then informed me there would be no availability for at least a week, possibly longer. By this point, I was very frustrated with the delays. During another appointment, I was not given any prescriptions or priority scheduling, even though the manager had previously said I would receive both. Several other things stood out: * There were no refreshments or snacks offered, despite positive reviews mentioning them. * There is a second waiting room, which I still do not understand the purpose of. * I was recommended to use Miabo eye drops, which my insurance did not cover and which cost nearly $900 for a small bottle. Overall, my experience was poor and left me feeling neglected as a patient. The entire process was disorganized, communication was unclear, and the costs were extremely high--around $9,000 in total. I want to share this so other patients are aware of what they might encounter. counter. Approximate Cost: $9,000 Final Opinion: I cannot recommend this clinic based on my experience. the initial evaluation, I felt like I was on a conveyor belt being shipped from room to room and never with the same technician. Then I was supposed to meet a doctor to choose the lens, he never showed te breakdown of the lens, instead he sent a hand written of my options the most expensive and the lowest, not sure what I had chosen.but I chose the most expensive. On the second eye surgery. I was rescheduled to another week, which extended the time of getting the lens up and working. I left with no instructions to come back. I called the office to see when I was to come back and was given wrong information. After the conveyor belt again, I went to a doctor's office. A person who I had not scheduled with showed up and started looking at my eyes and said we have to reschedule the appointment because my eyes were too dry, for one week. The scheduler said there was no chance for a week and it would be considerably later. I became quite agitated at this point as ''this was taking forever.'' Another appointment, after the evaluation, I was not today given prescriptions and no priority booking my appointment as I was told by the manager I would like address a couple of good reviews, there was no one passing out snacks, there is a second waiting room, which I still don't understand, and they wanted me on Miabo, eye drops, which my insurance did not cover, and the price was around $ 900.00 for a very small bottle. All this made me want to inform customers as this is obviously my opinion. The cost was about approximately $ 9000.00.
