I have gone here for over a year now and always liked it until today. I went to schedule my appointment and the person that answered seemed very disinterested in talking to me and when I asked for my preferred barber the person that answered the phone said they don't work here anymore. I said okay and before I could ask for my second preferred barber the man in a rude tone said "You wanna just call back tomorrow." and I said no it doesn't seem like you want my business". When I said this he hung up. It was frustrating because the owner is really nice and liked supporting his business. But the people he's got working there got to be better. read more

Do not let Liz cut your hair!!! I've been here 3 times now, and all 3 times Ricky cut my hair and he is perfection. Always listens to what I want and cuts my hair very well. He is worth 5 stars. My complaint is with Liz. My daughter is 14 and has been here one other time, and Rachel cut her hair in a very cute wavy bob, like my daughter asked. Today my daughter told Liz she wanted the ends and her bangs trimmed. Well, Liz chose to ignore what my daughter wanted and gave her a stacked bob instead! My daughter was in tears when we left. I was furious but didn't want to make a scene and embarass my daughter. I believe that Liz chose to do that hairstyle in order to charge me double what I normally pay here. She was a bully towards my daughter and unprofessional in her attitude. Not once did she ask me if it was ok if she cut my daughter's hair a certain way nor did she tell us it would be a $50 charge! Best barber shop I've found in years! John really loves what he does and it shows in his attention to detail. He did the best job on my beard I've ever had. When I got home, my wife (who rarely comments on my haircuts) had me turn around so she could see it all and told me she was glad I finally found a good barber! Great job and most appreciated! I have been in the area for 5 years after getting out of the Marine Corps and I was traveling all over the place to get my haircut, but finally taking a random look at google for a bar are I have found the best place in San Marcos. I use to like this place when Rachel was there, she was usually the one that cut my hair but she left. The past 3 times in a row I had liz, not by request, just had to go to her since she was the only one available. The first 2 times did not bother me, she gives of a rude vibe so I didn't pay much attention to her just let her cut my hair but she has an extremely heavy hand and her machines get really hot. She also does not stop talking to the other barbers and curses many times. She apparently thought I was dumb and did not think she over charged me even though she cut my hair the first 2 times and charge me the regular amount. It is sad to see that other people complain about her and nothing has change and clearly loose customers because at this point I'm not going back. read more

This place is awesome! I got a great haircut from the stylist John. He knew exactly what I wanted and did my hair in parts to make sure he was doing what I wanted. He took his time, which is what I am all about. I tend to stay away from people who try to do a haircut in about 5 minutes. You could tell he really cares about what he is doing and wants his customers the best service they can get! The wait is a little long, but that is only because the stylist take their time! Which still means 5 stars, prices are great! Not expensive at all, mine was about $19! Definitely will be coming back and recommending for friends. read more

WORST. HAIRCUT. EVER. I originally went here to get a highlight in my hair, and was charged about $45 for a dye that washed out in a week. I gave them another chance with my bangs. The blonde lady started doing things to my hair without asking me. I did not want my bangs fringed, and she did it without saying anythign because she thought it would look better. The brunette who did my highlight was praising her own work so highly. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THAT. SHE SUCKS. And it WILL wash out quickly. Go to the Supercuts or Premier Cuts on Aquarena before you even consider going here. Moved to the area August of 2015 to start my freshman year at TXST so I needed to find a new barber. Stumbled upon this place and I'll probably stay here for the rest of my time at college. The staff is really friendly and most times you're not waiting more than 5 minutes to be seen. I'm also one of those people who won't tell the barber if I think they did a hack job on my head so it's really comforting that Alfonso always takes the time to figure out what I want before he starts cutting anything. Reasonable pricing, cool atmosphere, only giving 4/5 stars though cause I feel like sometimes they try and sell you on some products they keep in store. It's their job to make suggestions and everything though so it's not too big of a deal. Other than that though this place is pretty great read more

I was looking to get a cheap haircut and this was the first thing I found on yelp, to be honest I didn't even read the reviews or give it a second glance before calling to see their availability. I walked in and it was just a cool place to be even if I did have to wait a hot minute. Waiting I got to see these amazing haircuts on these guys, if you're looking to get something individual this is the place to go. I was a little uneasy being the only woman in the salon, thought I may have walked the wrong kind of hair salon. They played pretty good music, I was very satisfied, with bands like Sublime. Anyways I got a shitty haircut at this other salon about a month ago and John evened it out and gave it some volume with some low layers. I am surprisingly pleased with the overall turn out. This place is great, not for just the haircuts, but for the experience. Anyways, six stars. They asked me how I heard of them and they were surprised I was coming from Yelp, haha.
