We were told this was an "upgrade" but the math did not work out. The alternate service was $85 less in value. At check-out, we pointed this out. The woman at the desk called the manager, who was very apologetic and invited us back for another day at no cost. At our second appointment, we had a scrub and wrap along with wine and a fruit/cheese plate at no cost. The next day, the manager called to make sure that we were satisfied. Spa Botanica has some major organizational weaknesses. They need to tighten communication among staff and to up-date the descriptions of their treatments. Based on the descriptions, we STILL didn't get the original service that we bought. However, the spa is a lovely and relaxing environment, the staff is accommodating and gracious, and the managers efforts were much appreciated. If rating the staff that cared for us, I would give them a 5. I would not particularly recommend the scrub/wrap or the "swiss bliss" shower. I've had much better. However, the massage was top-notch. My manicure was relaxing and lasted a whole week...which is some kind of spa miracle. Overall, I give them a 3.

I have been going to Bobcat Nails for years now, and there is nowhere else in town I will go. Why not? The reason is Tammy. I'm terribly picky about my nails, and she is the ONLY person I will let touch my nails. Whether it is a gel manicure or gel pedicure, a basic manicure, a green tea pedicure or dip powder nail set - she cannot be beat! Tammy is kind, friendly, and helpful. And don't get me started on her quality of work...it is PHENOMENAL. Her painting, attention to detail, and level of nail craftsmanship is better than anything I have ever experienced (and I've splurged plenty in many a salon/spa/boutique nail shop in Austin, Dallas, and San Marcos). My only worry is that in writing this review, Tammy will become too popular, and I won't be able to get an appointment with her. Bobcat Nails + Tammy = gorgeous fingernails and toenails! read more

This is THE best place to go in San Marcos for nails! I've been getting my nails done for 25 years, and Linh(the shop owner) is so incredibly thorough that I nearly cried when she was done with my dip set nails. She made sure they were absolutely perfect, with no lumps or jagged edges. She didn't use tips and my nails were really short(even a few bit down to nubs) and they look like magic. I can't stop looking at them because they look so great. There is another shop I went to in town that would clump on solar powder, would file them evenly and would even file off spots of the color and spit me out in 30 mins for 50 bucks. They looked like hell and I was actually embarrassed of my nails...they looked worse than just leaving them as nubs. read more

First time here! My normal nail place closed earlier. This place had great reviews, and I see why! I didn't know what time they closed, and I arrived about 5:30. I tried one another new place before they told me no because they closed at 7. Linh took me in and I only had to wait about 20 minutes. I was very impressed with their service. A bit more pricy than my normal place but she did AN AMAZING job on my nails. This color and shape is too die for! Might have found my new place. UPDATE: this became my permanent nail salon. I had a concerning experience at Bobcat Nails that I feel compelled to share. The quality of work was extremely poor, with uneven application and sloppy finishing that I had to get redone elsewhere. Communication was nearly impossible due to the language barrier, making it difficult to explain what I wanted or express concerns about the service. What troubled me most was that the workers appeared to be in poor condition with bloodshot eyes, which raised serious questions about their wellbeing and ability to provide safe, quality service. Hurry up and schedule your specialty pedicure with this fabulous husband and wife duo. After getting a pedicure and foot massage with Mindy and Bo, I was wishing they had a full service body spa at this place. As a customer for several months at Bobcat nail & Spa, I have had the great pleasure of having my nails done to my satisfaction over and over again. I had a very unprofessional experience at Bobcat Nails that made me uncomfortable. There was a diaper on the salon floor while services were being performed, which seemed extremely unhygienic for a place where cleanliness should be a top priority. When I tried to express my concerns to the owner, the language barrier made it impossible to communicate, and they seemed completely unbothered by the situation. This is not the sanitary, professional environment I expect when paying for nail services. I won't be returning and would caution others about the lack of professionalism and hygiene standards at this establishment. read more

I'm so disappointed with my experience at Bobcat Nails--they completely botched both my eyebrows and nails. My brows were uneven and overplucked, and my nails were lumpy with polish all over my cuticles. I tried to give them a chance to fix it, but they made it worse, so I had no choice but to leave and go to another salon. I ended up paying an additional $100 to have everything corrected, which was so frustrating since I'd already paid at Bobcat. This place is amazing! I've been here before and they did amazing on my acrylic nails. I've moved to Austin now but I decided to stop by and got gel on my natural nails. And after my visit my nails started to chip because of the wrong top coat was used when I got my nails done. I called in and asked if I'd be able to come in and get this fixed since I had just gotten them done. I went in and she fixed them for me and even let me try out dip for free. Yesterday, I had the best manicure and pedicure experience EVER with Linh at Bobcat Nail & Spa. The salon is beautiful and very clean. Linh is gracious and attentive to detail. I have been going to Lihn for almost 2 years now. Her nails are beautiful and consistent. I usually get the dipping powder. The prices are really great ($35 on real nail and $40 if you need tips). They really can do whatever you want. I have had Lihn do all sorts of colors, designs, and shapes and they always look beautiful. I suggest making an appointment since they get busy sometimes. It's been almost 2years since I started coming here and I would rather wait for an opening than find a different place to go.
