Any other time I would go here, a different stylist would always cut the top as one piece and would still look great. I don't know where he learned to cut hair, but he took what would have been a 15 minute cut and made it 30. Kept telling him I wanted 1.5 inches off the top and bangs. He proceeds to cut off a quarter inch and starts wiping my neck before finishing. I repeat that I wanted 1.5 inches off my bangs, and he cut off another maybe half inch. At this point I'm frustrated and just wanted the cut to be over. I walked out with my hair at the unwanted length.

I've been to several places throughout Austin; some places had me in and out of their chair in what seemed like seconds. Other places just gave me the impression I was in the wrong place and others were just "ok". I came across the "Nines" reviews and figured, I'll give another place a try. And one of the hardest things is who to pick to cut your hair. I randomly picked Amy but clearly that was a great choice. I'm sure everyone working here does amazing work, but I was fortunate to choose Amy. She is very friendly and was ready the minute I walked in the door. Very accommodating, she offered me water, soda, beer... I just had the water but I think next time I'll enjoy a drink! Before I moved to Austin, I had been going to the same person for years so it was very easy. All I had to do was make an appointment and she knew exactly what to do. I'm one of those who prefer the person cutting to give me suggestions on what they think would look good and Amy was more than happy to offer suggestions. I wanted to cover up a little gray and it had been months since my last haircut and it was looking pretty shaggy so I needed a complete "overhaul". Amy seemed to understand what I was looking for and made some recommendations which I went for. The haircut was enjoyable; I've had other people who are sometimes a bit careless but Amy is very gentle and thorough. When it came to the coloring... again, she took the lead. I stopped and when I was sure everyone was ok I jumped back in my truck on my way to my appointment. My GPS said I was running 12 minutes past my appointment time so I decided to call Gambuzza's to let them know of my delay. I was greeted on the phone by Haily who quickly informed me that if it's over 10 minutes, my appointment would be cancelled. Being 25 miles into the drive, I told her that I would do my best to be there by 2:10pm. This upset me as I just drove 25 miles and called to notify of the delay. I wanted to cancel right then but really needed my haircut. I did my best and arrived in the parking lot at 2:12pm and immediately got a call from Hailey that my appointment was cancelled. This upset me as I told her I was in the parking lot. She couldn't care less. For me, being a returning customer who has waited long after my appointment time, on the barbers to be available, this was very disappointing. Hailey lacked courtesy and proper customer service. Was there no way to accommodate me? So I got to drive another 35 miles home. I drove 70 miles and didn't get a haircut and was shown no grace. I let Haily know that I wouldn't be back to visit her location. So I am writing you to let you know that I will never visit any Gambuzza's locations ever again. That she caused you to lose a returning customer. And that your policy should have some sort of grace period. There are a plethora of Barbers in the Austin area and now someone else will get my business.

I could literally hear the sound of the phone receiver being put back into the cradle thing. I called them back and when I asked why they hung up on me, they just said they didn't know what happened, and they were fully booked for the day. I get that asking for a same day appointment on a Sunday isn't well planned out on my part, but they could have just said they're booked instead of hanging up the phone.

He went in with long, healthy, beautifully maintained hair (see photo), and left with what can only be described as a completely unskilled and incoherent haircut. The result is alarming: the top was left oddly puffy, the back completely unshaped and uneven, and there is no blending or alignment anywhere. The haircut lacks any professional structure -- it appears rushed, imbalanced, and unfinished. It genuinely raises concerns about whether C.K. has any understanding of basic haircutting technique. What's most upsetting is that my son went in with beautiful hair and reasonable expectations, only to leave with a cut so poorly done that it now will require corrective work elsewhere. This wasn't a minor issue. It was a careless and unacceptable service. I cannot recommend this barber to anyone. If you value quality, consistency, or basic professionalism, look elsewhere.
