Now THIS is a proper hat store! I hardly ever write reviews, but I had such a great experience I had to come back and write about it. I came into the store about a week ago looking to get my dad's hat resized for his birthday (it was slightly big). Rich was super helpful, and because my dad wasn't there to be measured, Rich gave me the option of using a small insert to make it fit better in the meantime. I was expecting to spend a lot more, but was pleasantly surprised! I fell in love with another cowboy hat while I was there and I ended up getting it for my dad too. Mr. Rich, the hat fit perfect with that small adjustment, and you made the right call sizing the new one as best you could without him being there! His older hat doesn't blow off anymore and the new hat fit perfect! Told my dad about your shop and now he wants me to bring his other hats in to you for cleaning. Stopped into Heritage Hats located in North Phoenix on Cave Creek Road. Have passed by this business for many years. Met Rich the owner who has been at this location for over 35 years. I have never seen so many hats in one location. They have a large selection of quality hats including westerns, fedoras, panamas, caps and many others. They also do cleaning, blocking, and full restoration work. Was looking for a summer cap and there were many selections. Purchased a stetson cap but also saw my next future hat which is a panama. Could have easily spent a few hours there. They want you to pick up the hats by the brim and not the top of the hat. Not too many hat shops like Heritage Hats. Put this one on your list. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. My daughter wanted to surprise me for my birthday with a new fedora so she researched hat places and found heritage hats. She called ahead of time to see what selection he had and he told her he had a huge selection. So we drove all the way from Florence to check it out. As soon as we walk in we are not greeted or helped. Finally we find the hats we were looking for and go to find the guy working there. Which we later found out was the owner. He was super rude and not helpful. Which was weird because he was friendly with other customers. He got upset at us for asking questions and said I knew you weren't gonna buy anything from the questions you were asking and told us to leave his store. Side note after reading the reviews I know I'm not the only one that this has happened to. read more

Drove all the way from Mesa for the hat shaping because of the reviews only to be disappointed, service was terrible not sure why because he seemed to be nice to other people maybe because we were younger or he thought we weren't going to buy anything but we planned on purchasing multiple hats. He completely ignored us, quickly shaped our hat and never offered to help us even though we clearly were standing there looking for help. Would not recommend we went to Saba's in Chandler for them to fix the hat and Boot barn to buy hats even though we prefer supporting local that's how much we were dissatisfied with this place. THIS WAS A HUGE WASTE OF TIME AND GAS! I WOULD GIVE IT NEGATIVE STARS IF I COULD! My family and I drove all the way from San Tan Valley to get a nice hat for my dad's birthday. We walked in and immediately got ignored but we didn't think anything about it because he seemed like the only one there. After we found the hats we were looking for I went to look for him and ask some questions about the hats we did see and he was super short and barley answered our questions but still we thought he was just busy so we weren't upset. We have bought several hats at this place, and each time the guy was grouchy and did not really want to help us look for a hat. Today was the last straw. We're from San Diego and decided to try one more time to buy a hat at this place like the one we bought before. But we asked the guy to clean a white spot off the hat, and he said I'll just refund your money. His tone of voice was mean and disrespectful. He hung out way in the back of the store in another room most of the time, and several people in the store looked at each other like where's the guy that works here?
