Reading through the reviews there's a repeated pattern with heritage law. I hired Heritage Law (attorney Liz Gagley) expecting real representation and communication. Instead, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. I was never contacted before my court date, never told what the plan or strategy was. The only real communication I received was an email saying I lost my case -- maybe four sentences long. No explanation, no breakdown, just a quick message and a reference to the "representation agreement" to justify it. Every reply after that felt copy-pasted and dismissive. I understand not every case can be won, but what bothered me most was the complete lack of communication and care. I never once spoke directly with the attorney. It felt like my case was just another file in a stack, not something anyone actually worked on. In my opinion, this firm treats clients like numbers instead of people. Big thanks to Joyce for coming through for me during a tough time. I got hit with some serious assault charges (9A, 36.041) after my ex-fiancée accused me of something | didn't do. It all started with a disagreement. One evening, I found some ground beef left out, so I put it away to prevent it from spoiling. Later, when I went to bed, my ex-fiancée lashed out and hit me and scratched me. Things got really intense, with threats of violence(she was about to shoot me), so I had to call the police. But when they showed up, they ended up arresting me, labeling me as the aggressor. when they asked me to put my hands behind my back all I said was, "Wow" Listening to the body camera footage later, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being unfairly targeted. It was like the officer knew how to muffle the microphone and talk quietly, but I could still hear everything clearly. That's where Joyce came in. I don't know what to say ... I am overwhelmed with how incompetent Heritage Law was in handling a simple traffic infraction. They charge $325, and then do nothing to defend. As a consequence to their incompetence, the ticket has to be paid in full, goes on record, and reported to the insurance. They're not even competent enough to request the judge to turn the ticket into a non-moving violation. I would have been better off in directly requesting a deferral, or I could have just paid the original ticket and saved the $325 that was paid to this incompetent, uncaring law office. The only reason that I hired these people is because I live out of state and even flying into Seattle, would still have to drive to the lower Kittitas court in Cle Elum. I contacted Heritage Law to help fight a speeding ticket received in Central Washington, I paid $325 for their service before they even would speak to me about my case, after a month they emailed me to say I have to pay for my ticket in full, they couldn't do anything to change it, no explanations offered. I understand that some cases are hard, but most of the time something could be done, and if there's nothing that could be done lawyers usually tell you that before they take your case, this office will just take any case regardless of whether or not they can fight it. read more

I recently contacted Heritage Law Firm thru a referral from Legal Shield. I am happy to say that Joyce did not give up on me even though things did not look good for me since my case was was taking place during the most recent COV-19 situation and over the holidays. Also the individual who we were dealing with falsified a report to the police which could have led to me being charged with a situation that could and may have already had an averse affect on my future employment. I should have given the police a report and did not. Lesson learned - file a report regardless since this person did so the prosecuting attorney was coming after me. Joyce was persistent and was able to get the charge dropped even though the legal system would have prosecuted me just because the other person did file a report. They took my $325, informed me they probably couldn't get the ticket dismissed, and then failed miserably in court. Not only did I pay their very expensive fee of $325, I had to pay my speeding ticket along now with raised insurance rates. I unfortunately got 2 tickets within a similar time frame. One for 5 over and one for 10 over and during that time I still had a deferral available. They weren't able to get a single one of those tickets off, didn't use my deferral and I ended up having to take a 4 hour online driving class as a result. They are an absolute scam and one of the most expensive ticket lawyers. Save your money and go yourself because at least you could end up using your own deferral and not have 2 tickets on your record now. read more

I was driving through the Cle Elum Washington area in the middle of April, and I was pulled over for "allegedly" speeding - going 20 over the limit, although the State Trooper said he was being nice by only writing +15 in my ticket. I live in California, so I had to look online for an attorney in the Cle Elum area (Kittatas County). I found a few options, but decided to give Heritage Law Offices a try. At first I have to say it was a little weird interacting with their office, because I paid the fee, and they were not very interactive (very little contact, short email responses, etc). Basically they just took my money and said they'd do what they can for me. I thought sure they would go to court for me, barely even try, and notify me that they were not able to get my ticket dismissed. BOY WAS I WRONG!!! (big smile). Now I understand why they didn't seem very worried about it. I was contacted the day after my court trial (which I did not attend because I live out of state) and Joyce's office notified me that my ticket was dismissed. Even then, the whole thing seemed like no big deal to them. I could sense that they do this all the time and they must be successful very often, because they made the whole thing seem too easy. Bottom line is, I'm happy with the service they provided and their fee was well worth it. Give them a try! Just pay your fee, back off, relax, and let them work their magic. read more

One of my drivers was cited for an accident going into a roundabout. The four wheeler tried to shoot the gap and hit our trailer as our driver was trying to give safe distance from the roundabout. He was first into the roundabout with the four wheeler behind him. We were cited and charged with the accident. My driver tried to attend the first hearing but it was postponed an hour before he was to attend. He had to travel from VA to attend the hearing. Kristi from Road Law recommended Heritage Law. Looking at previous reviews I am not the only one here being disappointed by their lack of winning simple traffic ticket cases. It's a first time I heard of a lawyer loosing a speeding ticket case. On top of that pretty much the only communications I had with this firm is the ones I initialized. To any one that may need legal advice and need a lawyer in Cle ELUM WASHINTON STATE I would not recommend this law firm to any one that Drives a Big Truck or a car my name is Jeff Mcinturff and I got A Ticket on 2/15/21 by a state trooper on I-84 in a snow storm for speeding & chain law infraction and contacted heritage law firm to take the case and they did & we got started on it and the first thing was to get them paid for the lawyer fees which was $350.00 & the lady in the office said they would contact me if I needed to appear in court on 5/17/21 & I figured my lawyer that I Did not even no at the time would at least contact me before she went to court so we could at least talk about the case but she never did sense they told me I did not need to appear in court & I told the lady to have my lawyer post pone it & set another court date if she could not get the ticket reduced or dismissed so I could appear & she went on to court with out me or contacting me & the judge found me guilty on both infractions on the ticket & now I have to pay the fines for the ticket which was $ 642.00 & that put the total to $892.00 I had to pay out & the bad thing about this is I did not even no my lawyers name until after she went to court & I think her name was liz or Stephanie Andersh I do not really no but after talking to her after I got her email about my case that day & found out that she new the officer & judge real well so if I had to guess that is why I was found guilty & I guess that is why she refunded me a $ 100.00 on the lawyer fees because she new she was in the wrong the law firm did not call me one time about the case until it was already over so I would not recommend this law firm to any one that drives a Big Truck or a car they are only good for taking your money but it was all my fault I should of maid a better choice on finding the right law firm to take my case I did not like my results I got from the law firm & how they handled my case so I just put it behind me so I did not right a statement on it until now after some one else to me I should so here it is & how I feel about the service they provided to me so I hope every one that needs a lawyer from that law firm reads this. I got a speeding ticket in Klickitat County near Cle Elum (which is known for being aggressive against speeding) for 12 miles over the 70 mph limit. I hired Joyce to represent me for this ticket. I have a clean driving record but I hate to have any tickets on my record so I automatically fight them. She did an ok job in representing me. My complaint has to do with her advertising herself as a traffic fighting attorney. I wound up with a deferral and, having to attend traffic school. Yes the ticket is dismissed if I don't get another within a year, which for me is risky because I ride motorcycles and its difficult to NOT speed on a motorcycle. I wound up paying Joyce's fee which was nominal enough, plus $181.00 for the ticket and the cost of the traffic school. I think Joyce should be more forthright in stating that in Klickitat County there is basically a "kangaroo" court and that if the trooper shows up and he or she has done the paper work properly you're not going to get off. The best she can do is a deferral which in most jurisdictions one can get for themselves if they bother to show up. Joyce was very available whenever I needed to chat but I do think her marketing gets ahead of her ability to get something positive accomplished and that its a case of "overpromising and underdelivering." I contacted Heritage Law to help fight a speeding ticket received in Central Washington (I-90 CleElum area). I paid $325 dollars for the attorney to represent me in this case which just so happens to be in CleElum, WA. Their website touts great service and a good success rate. There are also many great reviews which is why I chose Heritage Law. Well my experience wasn't that great. The end result was the case was not dismissed, reduced to a non-moving violation, nor was there a fine reduction. The attorney touted they were able to get a deferral which means I still had to pay a $212 fine, attend a defensive driving school that cost around $40 and takes up to 4 hours, and not get a similar ticket for 12 months or I believe it gets reported to DMV. Obviously, disappointed in the result, I began to ask questions to determine what all was done in my defense. The answer I received from Heritage Law was " We did our best to have the case dismissed but a dismissal is not always possible....When the officer appears usually the best option is a deferral, which is why your case was deferred....had the officer not shown up your case would have been dismissed." When ask what further strategies were used, the firm made no mention of any other efforts to negotiate with the court, prosecution, or judge such as reduced fine, non-moving violation, etc. The response was "if the officer shows up its a tough case." I communicated my displeasure in their willingness to spend some time to discuss typical strategies used, which would perhaps set clear expectations. I was offered a $100 credit toward a future ticket service for myself or someone else. Oh and if you check out the Facebook page they tend to be pretty cozy with the Highway Patrol. Safe your self the $325, represent yourself, and use the same strategy Heritage Law uses and "hope" the officer doesn't show up. Again, had the attorney's set clear expectations up front, and discussed the case strategy, perhaps I wouldn't be so upset, but given the lack of clear communication, and clearly explained strategy I am very disappointed in their service and would not recommend. read more
