Besides the pond, the park also has a playground, picnic tables, grills, benches, basketball goals. Unfortunately, they don't have a port-a-potty here so be prepared to go down the street to a gas station. Hopefully, with the $2 million+ in FloMo's Park budget they'll put in a restroom sometime soon. The last time I went fishing here one of the Parks and Recreation board members came by just to check up on their park. The guy was really friendly and told me that the pond was stocked with catfish several months ago and the park hosts a fishing event for kids every year. If you're a persistent fisher, you'll definitely catch at least something. My friends and I have caught few perches, mostly catfish, and unfortunately some turtles. Unhooking turtles is bitch to do, but be prepared to do it. It's really a nice park, so help keep it clean!

My kids identify this as one of the best splash pads in the area, second only to Oak Hills Park in…read moreCarrollton (which they love because of the slides). It is HUGE - definitely the largest splash pad I've seen in terms of sheer size. It is designed so that the water spouts at the top of the splash pad form a small river that flows down to the lower area, where there are more spouts, plus rocks to climb on and grassy (turf) hills to roll down. My kids like bringing small toys and racing them down the river. The real star here is the shaded observation area for the mamas, though. There is no other park that treats us so well, providing expansive shade tents all the way around the park. There are picnic tables, but for the most part it's BYOC (bring your own chair) - or blanket - and set up shop on the turf, under the shade, in an elevated spot so you can keep an eye on the littles playing below. The bathrooms are new and usually pretty clean, although sometimes they do still smell like a porta potty. The splash pad hours are kind of a bummer, with the water not turning on until 10am. In the peak heat of the summer, we would be there waiting right at 10, but by 12:30 or so the water already felt like bath water - not refreshing and honestly kind of gross. I wish it opened at 8am so we could enjoy it for longer. Now that summer is over, the splash pad is only open on the weekends. If you're looking for a splash pad to add to your summer rotation, put this one on the list.

Andy Brown is a beautiful space, from the pond to the open fields, the sidewalk/bike path, multiple large pavilions, and fun playground. There are large, mature trees surrounding the park. We parked in the wrong lot and had to walk alongside the gym in order to get to the playground and I couldn't believe how beautiful the pathways were with all the trees and the small creek running alongside. Not what I expected from a city park! The playground itself ("Kid Country") is almost fully enclosed and is a sprawling assortment of things to climb up, swing on, and slide down. There is a play area in the toddler section with storefronts to spark pretend play. The ground is bark. There are large trees in the center of the play area that provide shade and make the play structure look more natural than your typical playground. Almost like a tree house. There are benches scattered throughout the play area and a large covered pavilion with multiple picnic tables underneath. The city of Coppell provides free WiFi there and there were multiple moms with laptops out, working, while their kids played. The only big negative is the distance from the playground to the bathroom. I understand that they probably built the bathrooms more toward the center of the park, but the wise choice would have been to also put an additional small restroom right next to the playground. It's too far of a walk for me to feel comfortable sending my younger kids over there alone and it's kind of a bummer to have to wrangle together the entire group every time one kid has to pee. Otherwise, a fabulous park. LOVE IT. Hats off to you, Coppell!

In any case, there were probably about 15 dinosaurs in total. Visitors follow a path at their own pace to view each dinosaur. Touching them is prohibited, but you can get pretty much as close as you want to observe and photograph. There is also a small dig area and a staff member walking around with a baby dino the kids can pet. Our first loop through prehistoric park took about 15 minutes. We splashed and swam a bit in the lake and then returned for another quick loop through the dinosaur trail before heading home. Overall, it's a pleasant activity and definitely a kid-pleaser. My children ages 1-9 all enjoyed it. The problem is the cost. $29 is just WAYYYY too high for what this is. Part of me thinks the city of Grapevine should just continue to charge the regular entrance fee into Meadowmere Park and use the dinosaur exhibit as a way to increase traffic into the park during the off-season. We for sure will not be returning to the park until the exhibit is over and the entrance fee returns to a more reasonable rate. If your kid loves dinosaurs and you've never been here, by all means, go, but I'd probably chalk this up to a once in a lifetime activity.

As a parent of a special needs child who is able to run pretty fast I really like the fact that the park is a fairly large distance away from the road. There's plenty of room to fly a kite on a nice day. There's plenty of spots to park in on the concrete lot so parking shouldn't be too bad perhaps even during softball games. There's a fairly new concession stand, covered pavilion and restroom all within one building. The town's website mentioned that the restrooms may not be opened at all times so I wouldn't depend on there being a restroom there. Today it was unlocked so we were able to use it and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how clean it was and the fact it was well stocked with much appreciated toilet paper which is always a bonus. There's 5 really nice softball fields each of which has a bleacher stand that has a much appreciated shade over the seats. The fields appear to be well maintained by the town and respected by those who use it. If you are into playing softball chances are it wouldn't be too difficult to find a team to join. Flower Mound Parks & Recreation should have a list of teams who meet at this park if you are curious. The park has two very nice playscapes with wood bark placed around them to soften any falls. There are slides and climbing walls along with a separate swing set. The smaller playscape is designed for younger kids from around 2 up to maybe 5 years old or so. The larger one is made for older children who aren't afraid of heights like my children are. The swing set has swings designed for babies along with the traditional swings we all know and enjoy. Around the play structures there are various rotating toys that kids can climb on and get nice and dizzy from going quickly around in circles. Best of all there are several park benches located close to the playscapes to allow parents to supervise their children while they play. Overall it's a very nice park that Flower Mound has built for everyone to enjoy. We will definitely be back when I need to wear my children out on days they have way too much energy. :)
