I have been following Aaron Neimanns work for many years. I ended up moving back to Indiana after living in Vegas for 15 years. I had to fly back to Vegas for a funeral and decided I wanted to get a tattoo. So I walked into the shop and was greeted by Kent. I knew I wouldn't be able to have Aaron do it because I know he couldn't take a client on such short notice. So I looked through Kent's book and it appeared that he did nice work so I gave him the design that I wanted and told him to feel free to make artistic changes to make it my own. We go in two days later on Sunday and he shows me what he drew. He basically just drew the same thing. At that point. I should have just left but I was like whatever - i had given him $100 deposit. I liked the design, I just wanted it to be as nice or nicer than what I had given him. He didn't have the shadows on the stencil because he said he thought it made it look "corny" but I wanted them so he said ok. So, he starts the tattoo and I'm laying on the table but can't see what is happening. He finished the piece and still hadn't done the shadows yet and asked me again if I wanted them and I said yes (should have been a HUGE red flag ). I just wish he would have said that he isn't good at shading/shadows and I just would have skipped it, but he didn't. So he finishes a few minutes later and I look at it and I almost physically got sick. It was awful - blow outs all over the place, the "shadows" he put on it looks like he just scratched lines horizontally under the chain - he added this weird shadow on the heart itself that just looks ridiculous (and nothing like the photo). It's just bad. Aaron (the shop owner) did say he would fix it once it heals, but also said "the tattoo itself isn't that bad". Yes, it is pretty bad (look at the pic and see for yourself). There are blow outs ALL over, the outline is scratchy, some of the circles on the chain go around too far so they have a "tail". The "shadows" are in the wrong place. I'm back home in Indiana so I don't know how I'm supposed to have him fix it. I'm planning on returning in December, so I hope like hell he can fix it then. I will update this post once I (hopefully) get it fixed to at least look decent. DATE OF TATTOO: October 16, 2022. read more

I called to see if we could be be seen on short notice without a long wait. Brandon said if we got there within a half hour he would help us out. I went into Heritage Tattoo and was told by one of the workers there that they do appointments only but could ask one of their artists if they could work something out for me. I ended up speaking with Kent and told him my tattoo idea and asked if he was able to tat me that day. He was really cool and told me he was able to squeeze me in later that day after another client he had. He texted me when he was ready, I showed up and he showed me his drawing of the references I showed him. It was better than what I had in mind so I went ahead and got it tatted. The decor is so cute inside. It's very clean. Kent did a stellar job on my half sleeve. I wanted Japanese style with gray shading. The tricky part was working my current tattoo (gardenias) into the piece. Kent asked lots of questions and wanted photos of my ideas. First impressions are always important. So that is why I give 2 stars. I called on wed. May 15th to see if there was anyone available for the 17th of May. I spoke to a lovely woman who stated by appointment only and that they were booked two weeks in advanced. She offered me an artist # so that I may text and see if he could fit me in on Friday. I will not blast the name on here, if management wants to know what arist I'm referring to . Please feel free to message me. Anyway, so I text this number and ask if he had any available time for Friday around 6 pm. He tells me he cant because he has to pick up his kids. Which is fine I have kids of my own too. I get it. I asked what about Saturday, his response that would be perfect, to let him check his schedule and he will let me know. Then I get a text from him saying he can put me in for Friday. I was like hell ya.. I asked him if it would be after 5? His next response " sorry I left" I didnt respond to it. And waited for him to hit me up for saturday... and nope!nothing.. here we are on Wednesday and still no follow up. I had wanted a tattoo for a long time and finally I had a reason and the means. My bassett hound had died and he was my best friend, so I decided that I wanted to do something in his memory, to honor him in my own way. I didn't however just want any old cookie-cutter tattoo of his breed that looked like something found online or be a complete replica of him. I wanted something that represented how he was, how I saw him all the time. So I researched all manner of shops. Looking at the layout of the store, if it was clean, and the artwork of the people who worked there. Heritage looked the best and when I came in for a consultation, they just further proved it. The shop has an open floor plan and tons of amazing art on the wall that have been done by the artist's themselves. Extremely clean. Very comfortable. I had previously been to other Tattoo shops as support for family members while they had their own tattoos done and I always sort of got the vibe that I wasn't supposed to be there. That I was unwelcome. That's not the experience I had at Heritage. When you walk in you feel welcome. I met with Mike Schwab and showed him a few pictures of my bassett and the type of style I wanted. He was great. After talking about Max's personality and taking my information, I had a scheduled appointment to come back in in a week to get my tattoo done. The week leading up to the tattoo, Mike texted me for pictures of my bassett for reference and then sent me a rough draft of what he had thought up and I was excited to see what the finished product would be and I was not disappointed. The day of the tattooing, while some parts painful(obviously), was very relaxing. There was some great music playing and the atmosphere was comfortable and chill. It took nearly 5hrs, but it was so very worth it in the end to have such a beautifully done, one of a kind piece of work, that represented Max how I knew him . Kent said he could do it all and so I told him I wanted a black and grey rose on my arm, above my mandala. He drew it up pretty fast and got to work. The shop is clean and has a cool atmosphere. I couldn't pick a better place to do my first review on. After searching around for great artists to do my tattoo, I stumbled upon this shop. Let me say that I wish I would have gotten all of my ink done here. I stopped in to talk to someone about a large piece I wanted to get and was greeted warmly by Anthony. I felt like I walked into someone's living room the shop was so cozy and inviting. I wasn't sure at first which artist to go with and he suggested looking through everyone's portfolios to get an idea of a certain style I may have been thinking of. I decided to go with Josh Wilcox. His work just really jumped at me. I met with him (super cool dude) and spouted off my ideas. Being far from artistic, they sounded like a jumbled mess once I explained what I wanted but he was able to bounce a few more ideas back at me that came out much more sensible. Not only that, what started out as a half sleeve had morphed into a full sleeve which made me even more excited to get started. I made an appointment for the following month and slapped my deposit down. I went in for my first session this past Saturday and to say that I am pleased with the outcome would be a gross understatement. Josh is a fantastic artist and great to work with. I trusted his judgment to come up with a wonderful piece and got more than I expected. He doesn't have a heavy hand and works quickly. You can tell that he takes great pride in giving you the best tattoo possible. I got quite a few compliments that same day after leaving the shop. His work speaks for itself. Everyone in the shop has outstanding creations and their own individual styles. You can't go wrong with any of the artists here. I won't go to any other shop for my tattoos.
