Hit him for a quote and my idea and he got back to me quickly. Told me to come to the shop few days later and showed me what he sketched up. Came out exactly how I would have wanted it. He's very talented and very professional. Easy to talk to and very laid back. Just like barbershops, some guys think they are all that and try to show the "alpha" in them. My experience here at BTS has exceded my expectations. My daughters and mother-in-law wanted to plan a girls trip to Vegas and decided they all wanted tattoos. Somehow my daughter came across the shop and decided that this was where they wanted to go. When we arrived we were instantly greeted by Stacey and even though there was a mix up with our appointments she was still so accommodating. I've got 2 tattoos done by Stacey and a tattoo done by Skine. Both of them are absolutely amazing. If you want really detailed work Stacey is definitely the girl for that and she's really light handed so that's a plus! Skine is who I would suggest if you want any lettering/calligraphy. He draws it out by hand and he is willing to tweak it however you want, but most of the time that's not necessary. I will definitely be going back once I'm no longer broke read more

I don't care what anyone says! These guys may look like they could rough you up, but deep down, they're all warm and fuzzies inside! I wanted to come by and watch my friend Charlie l get her tattoo done, but I also wanted to be productive as well. They were so nice, and was nice enough to let me use their wifi so I can do some work and watch them do work too! They're so funny, and very hospitable. I'm giving them a good rating not just for their services, but the quality of work they did. I've seen it! I'm not sure what his name was, but his design was amazing (I posted a picture), and it was exactly what Charlie L wanted. Very talented artists but we very clearly expressed we were only wanting to buy two hours from Stacy (obviously expecting a smaller tattoo) and she kept telling us to "not worry about it" when she began a huge tattoo that was obviously not going to be finished in two hours- she tattooed for 5 hours and kept saying "don't worry about it." We finally had to stop and she wasn't even half way through and we ended up having to pay hundreds of dollars over the time and size we requested. We still have an unfinished tattoo and don't trust her enough to get it finished. She very clearly manipulated us to try to get more money. read more

I came for a tattoo about 2 weeks ago, my wife and I decided to check out this place. My experience from the get go was terrible. Ive been a business man for many years, specifically I've been a salesman and I can always tell when someone is lying to me. The girl who calls herself Electra approached me, appears to be friendly, takes my money, sets my appointment and tells me to contact her via her card information (number and social media). I do so and I get no response. I've tried several times via social media and text message. I was originally told to see Gabe the owner, but I was told he isn't the owner any more. It's really sad if a business has to steal from customers to keep the doors open. Reguardless, they can keep my money. I refuse to go to an artist or place who hires artist who are this rude to their potential clientele. Your shop missed out on the potential of a full back with me and I'm the president of a yatch club, people see my skin constantly, you lost out the potential for a huge account because your artist thought she doesn't need to respond to a person. read more

My highest expectations were exceeded! My tattoo is amazing and I love it. Gabereal is a true artistic genius. If you want a little butterfly or some clip art you can go anywhere, but if you want a custom piece with careful attention to detail, then you MUST go to BTS. My mom asked me not to get a tattoo for a year so I would really think about it.. So for a year I researched tattoos, looked at other shops, and met a few artists, even put a deposit down at another shop on Vegas but when he was not confident in the size of scripting I wanted, I bounced. I gave BTS tattoos 5 stars because they didn't have any extra stars to give. Started on a full sleeve 2 weeks ago with Gabe. I knew what I wanted or at least the ideas and flow of the sleeve and Gabe worked up multiple ideas for me and even put them in certain positions and gave me the heads up on how a sleeve should flow. He took at least an hour just throwing ideas and what would work best. I would recommend BTS to anyone. Cant wait to finish my sleeve.Gab's portrait's are phenomenal and that makes it a seamless transition to the black and grey tattoo I wanted. Clean lines and he's very proud of his work. He even asked if I would go to a tattoo convention to show off the sleeve when it's done because he felt confident with the collaboration we came up with. Thinking of a tattoo. GO HERE. read more

I can't say enough about this shop and it's staff. I first went there in April 2016. One of my best friends was getting her first tattoo, I was getting 2 more (all my others, except 1, were done in Thailand where I lived and worked for 3 years) and my daughter who had just turned 16 was "possibly" going to get her first tattoo. I told her I would have to case the place out before I said yes or no. We spent many days calling and asking around before we decided to go with Beneath the Surface. I called and spoke to an artist named Skine (pronounced "Skinny"), he was professional, respectful, and knowledgeable so I asked him if he would be able to do our tattoos that night. The moment I walked in I could feel the ambiance of professionalism and the smell and look of cleanliness. I don't know about anyone else out there but that means it's a go or no go to me. He introduced himself and asked who wanted to go first, of course it was me because I already have some tattoos, and then he asked what I wanted and where I wanted it. I was going to get 2 that night so I said I'd let him do my first one and if I felt he was indeed a good tattoo artist then he could do my friend. I had chosen the word, Forgiven, written in Arabic, long story. I wanted it on the inside of my right wrist. He asked how big, how thick, etc. a lot of questions (again this is just my opinion) means he is meticulous and professional. He took his time to draw out the word, making sure every letter linked to the other as that is how Arabic is written and read. After careful thought and consideration about the placement of my tattoo he went to work. Now don't take my word on this because I have a high tolerance for f pain but he was very gentle and continuously asking if I was going ok. You would think that a small (2"x1") tattoo would only take maybe 15 minutes but it took him 30 minutes. That's how you want it done, not in a hurry, slow and precise...it turned out beautiful! Next was my friends turn (she's in her later 40's and it's her first tattoo) she has no idea what to expect. She also had chosen a word that had significant meaning to her that she wanted on the back of her wrist as well. That's a sensitive place to get a tattoo if you have little tolerance to pain, but she toughed it out and couldn't believe how gentle Skine was. I think he got her addicted to tattoos...lol. Then comes my daughter, to do or not to do?!? Because she already knew what she wanted and I made her tell me the symbolism behind it I decided to let her get it. Had it been anyone else but Skine I would never have agreed to it. I won't say what or where because of her age but it only hurt for the first minute or two as she squeezed the crap out of my hand! After she relaxed and the endorphins kicked in she said it wasn't near as painful as she thought it would be and was already thinking of ideas for the next one...lol. Lastly was my second tattoo which was the word "DREAM" that I wanted written in cursive on the inner side of my arm (it's not the word Dream that I like but the acronym behind it, if you know it great, if not then no worries). Skine HAND wrote the word on my arm and it was perfect! He then tattooed it again with the utmost professionalism and care. So, I'll end this story with our last experience at Beneath the Surface which was just last week. I promised my daughter if she got all A's on her progress report that I'd let her get her 2nd tattoo, which once again had to have meaning and symbolism and it did. She refused to let anyone but Skine do it and he did it for her within an hour after I called him to see if he had time. Again, a year later now, the shop was clean, neat, professional, and welcoming. He did her tattoo with such precision and accuracy asking her all along the way how she was doing. She didn't even need me to hold her hand this time...lol. When he was finished and she looked at it in the mirror I could see the satisfaction on her face. Another job well done! I'll end with this. I work in healthcare so my mind is always on cleanliness, neatness, hygiene, sterility, etc. and of course kind, professional, and caring people. He's the only one that has ever tattooed us but I watched some of the other artists while I was there and they were all VERY professional and experienced! read more
