I needed a cab service to pick up some food for my aunt and i read some negative reviews about Heritage, so I was initially hesitant. But I needed a cab service to pick up a meal for my elderly aunt quickly and during the corona quarantine, as it was for her birthday (in Branford, CT). I called Heritage and spoke to the owner Jerry who is not interested in being super charming. He is simply a polite, soft spoken businessman and that was not a big hurdle. I did have to 'email' him permission to use my credit card (he did that to cover his tracks) and i sent him the cc information via email. He then briskly went to the restaurant for food puck up and delivery, as instructed. Jerry picked up the food and dropped it off for my aunt at her residence. He was very polite to her. And his cost was reasonable. He didn't charge me for 'waiting' for the food either. Instead, he asked me when the food would be ready and he headed right over at that time, so as not to overcharge me. He was very nice. Yes, he is older and a little old-fashioned, and he doesn't use PayPal or Venmo. Other than that. He was efficient and reasonable and polite. read more

This taxi does not take credit cards and not only does the driver not take credit cards, he charges an extra taxi ride ($3+parked time) for the time it takes to get cash. Without being informed I was going to be charged for getting cash from my room, I came back and was told to pay $7 for the ride and $5 for the less than 5 minute wait. The cab driver was also difficult to talk to, laconic, and did not understand my issue with the extra charge (I had no problem paying for the wait-time, but that could have been done by letting the meter run and after letting me know that he was going to do so). read more

I had a terrible experience with heritage a few days ago. I was trying to get to the train station, and was specific about what time I'd like to be picked up, but the driver arrived 12 minutes late, and didnt even apologize. The driver never acknowledged my presence, instead he was writing (yes writing-- while the car was in motion), speaking incessantly on his two-way radio, and trying to teach a new driver in the passenger seat how to treat customers (oh how the irony!). I've used them four times, and they showed up on time only twice. Don't bother to call this company if you're on a schedule, such as trying to catch a commuter train. read more

Rude ,obnoxious and unprofessional! Called for a ride to West Haven and even rude when he answers the phone originally, then try to call back two minutes later and tell me I had to cancel that one location to go somewhere else and instead of listening to the whole conversation before I could get cancel out of my mouth he hung up! Then I tried to calling back to tell him that you didn't let me finish that I need to go somewhere else and he hung up again, then I called them back again and I try to explain again and he says why would I talk to somebody and people I don't know how to make up their mind and blah blah blah blah blah, he's a complete idiot!If he would've just shut his mouth and listen to what I was going to tell him, which was I had to switch my locations and cancel the other location he would have business; but obviously by all the other reviews I see he's just rude and shouldn't be in business! read more

The only thing you can count on Heritage for is BAD and RUDE service. What's crazy is that I even bother to call them because there's always a problem. Tonight I called and requested service -- the always rude person who answers the phone said he didn't think he could provide service and would call me back. He hung up before he even took my number. Unfortunately I hadn't read the reviews before hoping in the taxi that pulled over at Union Station in New Haven. The driver mumbled "this isn't worth it" once I mentioned I was going a few blocks away, in the downtown area. I asked for an explanation and he said he was only joking. From then on he was on the phone speaking in a foreign language the entire trip. Once we got to the destination he told me he couldn't take credits cards (despite the 6 very obvious credit card stickers around the car) and that it was his fault he didn't tell me the machine was broken. He demanded I get money from the ATM. Not only was I charged a fee for using a random ATM, but he also kept the meter running and asked for more money for the wait time. What's more, I had to remove the suitcase on my own from the trunk, in the snow - he wouldn't come out to help. I called the company to complain and let them know they have drivers out there that aren't providing quality service, only to be treated in an even worse manner. The person on the phone was yelling that he can't do anything without me telling him the licence plate number. I mentioned the driver was speaking in a foreign language and driving a large, black Lincoln and was told they couldn't possibly tell who the driver was since they have 7 (yes, a grand total of 7 cars) in their fleet. My guess is that they must be only driving black Lincolns. Overall Heritage taxi service was unacceptable and the management was deliberately unhelpful. I now know that if I'm at the train station again and see a Heritage taxi I will wave them away and wait for a more courteous taxi company. read more

I took a taxi home from Union Station the other day but before proceeding to get in I made sure they took credit cards. The taxi driver said he accepted credit cards and i even noticed the credit cards in which they accepted. As soon as I close the door the taxi driver set the meter and proceed to take me to my destination. It wasn't until we reach my destination in which the driver told me that he didn't take credit cards I proceeded to ask him why he waited till we reached my destination to tell me. He proceeded to tell me theres an ATM across the street and that I must go in their and to get money to pay my fare or he will call the cops. This is one of the worst companies i have experienced with rude and lying drivers. I will definitely use a different company next time. read more
