I got online on a Thursday and was able to book an appointment for 8 am that following Tuesday. I used the drop off service. It was very easy. Josh from the service team called me with an update everyday. I dropped my car off Tuesday, it was diagnosed, part ordered, replaced and ready for pick up 8am that Friday. Only I didn't have to drive the 50 minutes with my toddler to pick it up! they delivered the car to my house this morning! I didn't know they did that but Ford does!! read more

The purchase was for our son, who was with us at the time or I would have walked out and should have any way. The CarPlay/Nav wouldn't work because the previous owner was not cleared. We own a Ford Transit diesel. It had a recall on the particulate filter, which we got done. From there on we had major problems with the sensors in the exhaust. They actually put the old sensors back in after replacing the particular filter! After that, it kept going into limp mode. We had to pay $900 to replace the sensors. After that, it kept coming up with all these different codes and going back into limp mode had to pay them $500 to plug it into the computers to tell us we had to replace the turbo which was $4000 more dollars! Nothing but problems after that recall and no help at all. Will never go back to Hermong Ford. The most unhelpful, money, grabbing dealership in South Carolina. read more

I have a 2008 Mustang GT/CS Convertible. I had service done to it.. Oil change new battery and a new air bag. This car is only a toy, Drive it when I have time that's it. Anyway, when they put the battery in it they scratched the fender, and said they need to keep it over the weekend because the airbag replacement wasn't in. So I went and picked it up. A week later I was still getting letters form ford letting me know that it wasn't replaced. Letters kept coming. Year later I had a guy from ford showed up and said he was here to replaced the airbag. I said sorry but I had Herlong Ford do it. so, I said since your here go and do it again. To my surprise Herlong didn't do it. Now I'm very upset that they lied to me. But I'm really tick off. Because it could of went off when someone was sitting in it. Buyers Beware!! - Dealer not reporting Hail damage on titles! This dealership had falsely advertised a vehicle as a higher trim model, which is an average of $3,000 difference in pricing based on other local dealerships. However when we caught their mistake, the sales manager, Jim Foley, got upset and said they would not change the price at all. On top of that there was a major storm the night before and hail damage had occurred to most of the vehicles on the lot. They had called and offered to take $750 off the price and said there were 10-15 dings in the hood of the car. We showed up and immediately saw there were 50+ dings in the hood, there were almost the same on the roof, and the pillars/panels above the doors also had dings. This car would have been totaled by an insurance agent. We called them out on that as well, saying that the car should be priced much lower because the resale value will be tanked after the title/VIN search reports Hail damage and they admitted to our face "Well, that is only if we claim it on our insurance" which means they are not going to report the hail damage if they can just rip people off and sell the vehicles with a tiny $750-1000 "discount" Check this dealer out on BBB.com - they have 12 complaints open and only 1 resolved, as well has horrible reviews. I dropped off my 1993 F 150 for repairs as it had a oil leak coming from oil pan gasket . While the pan was down i thought install a new oil pump and the ac also did not work so I had asked for that to be looked at. That was on Tuesday May 6th a scheduled appointment. So I decided on Friday May 9th to call and see how they are making out and was told the truck hasn't been looked at. Now mind you that this was a scheduled appointment, they knew it was coming in for repairs. Now 2 weeks have gone by and they still haven't looked at it. Now 4 weeks have gone by no phone calls on updates and when I called they still haven't ordered the parts to make the repair but now it was towards end of May. Now next month comes and I receive a call on Friday June 16th that the repairs have been made and the truck is ready for pickup, can you believe over 8 weeks for a scheduled repair. So I asked Josh in service if the truck was test driven and yes everything's OK. Well Monday June 17th my daughter and I went to picked up her truck, paid for the repairs over $1,821 and the truck is undrivable. The motor is knocking, making noise from the front end and the distributor is now making noise and the ac still wasn't fixed. So now I'm out $1,800 and worse off then when I brought the truck in 8 weeks ago. read more

We had a terrible experience with this dealership. We trusted them to keep their word and have been sorely disappointed. I only post this so no one else will have to go through what we have. Long story short, we bought a defective car from them that they swore up and down was thoroughly checked out, and we had to pay to have it towed the last 180 miles home. The owner of the dealership, Wes, told us over the phone and via text they would make it right by reimbursing us the money for the tow and getting a replacement differential. Time went by with increasingly less contact until, here we are, 4 MONTHS later at time of review and a car we can't use that we paid $15,500 for. Long story in full: My husband and I bought a used vehicle for CASH from Herlong Ford on August 9th, 2022. We drove up to purchase it as it was the only car of it's type in the southern united states. My husband had been in touch with the salesman, TJ, all week about the car. We had to drive up to my grandmother's funeral in Il and decided on the way home we would go by Herlong and get the car. We arrived late and got ourselves a hotel room for us and our 2 toddlers. Next morning my husband went over to test drive the car. He decides he likes it, we hand them the cash, and start to drive the 250 miles home. We made it 20 miles and the car died while idling at a gas station. They came and picked it up and took it back. We wound up having to get a hotel room for a second night while they "fixed" the problem. I should say now, my husband was a mechanic at a dealership 10ish years ago and has worked on his cars all his life. He knows cars. When they returned the car to us they said it was a loose shifter cable and sent us on our way. My husband had noted a noise that sounded like it was coming from the front differential and asked them to check all fluids as we had a long drive ahead of us, they assured us all had been topped off and checked. The car shut off at a gas station 180 miles from our house. We paid $1,100 out of pocket for the tow to get home. Wes, the owner of the dealership, assured us that he would do what it took to make it right. He would reimburse us the amount of the tow after what our insurance covered (which turned out to be $100 and he was sent the paperwork from our insurance less than 2 weeks later). When we were finally home my husband discovered the issue with the car shutting off (the fuse housing was bad) and we replaced it at our own cost of $230. THEN my husband discovered the blown front differential. He damn near sheared the bolt off the differential housing to check the fluid, which we realized had never been checked as the bolt was rusted on, and he discovered a bone dry reservoir filled with metal shavings. Clearly they had not checked the fluids as we'd beed assured they had when we bought it. We called Wes and TJ, again. Wes told my husband to find a replacement and get him the quote so he could order it. Over the next 2-3 weeks my husband worked tirelessly to call every manufacturer and any junk lots he can find looking for a differential. My husband did find a rebuilt one for $1200 + $400 core + shipping. When he finally locates it and sent the info we began the 2 month long game of "Will he answer this week?". My husband would call the dealership, Wes directly, and TJ directly every day only to get voicemails or ignored. We would get a call back about once every 2 weeks. And each of those times Wes would claim he didn't have enough info or the quote to order. We haven't been responded to in 3 weeks now. We have a car we cannot drive that we paid $15,500 in CASH for that we now have to invest another $3000 into to make it road worthy. This has been our experience with Herlong Ford. I purchased a 1996 F-250 from Herlong Ford in Edgefield SC for about $12,000. I live in Virginia so I bought this truck sight unseen. According to the NADA, this price would mean the truck is in good, approaching excellent condition. It is not, this truck is in fair condition at best, Had I been there in person I would not have paid more than $8,000 for this truck. The sales person and customer service manager were super helpful, right up until the truck was delivered. Immediately upon delivery I noticed the truck had no backseat, someone had replaced the backseat with a big speaker box which was not shown in any of the pictures in the listing. I had specifically mentioned to the sales person on the phone I needed something with a backseat because I was planning to use this for family camping trips and such. I also immediately noticed the windshield wipers were completely worn out and the tires had less than 50% life left on them. I immediately tried to call the sales person but it took several days to get ahold of someone. After a week of arguing with them they agreed to send me a $200 check to help cover the costs of a new seat. It was better than nothing, but not near enough to cover the costs. Then, when I took the truck for the state safety inspection, it failed due to a brake light out, the reverse lights not working (at all) and the front brakes worn to the point of needing replacement. So, after paying 12 grand for a truck I can't even legally drive in my state, this dealership tells me I'm on my own to fix it because I bought it "as is". When buying an "as is" vehicle online, I had the understanding that it would at least be fully functional, especially for the price I paid. I only drove the truck twice since I got it, and they told me all those issues could have happened since it left there which is a ridiculous assertation. Especially when they claim they did a thorough inspection on it before they sold it. They seem helpful until they get your money, then you're completely on your own. Especially if you live out of state since they figure there is nothing you can do about them cheating you out of your hard earned money. I purchased a vehicle from here and the salesperson described the history as a clean vehicle that was mechanically sound, however the first owners supposedly had lots of small, repeated insignificant complaints so the company bought the car back from them. For example, they wanted the stitching repaired on the leather seats multiple times etc. I purchased the vehicle with 13,000 miles on it. I proceeded to spend months and months with my car in the shop at Stokes Hodges. One problem after another. Then I found out that the title was branded and stamped as a lemon. This was not discussed with me at all. I'm sure it was disclosed in the thousands of words of paperwork that I signed, but the process was incredibly deceptive. I then returned to Herlong to see if they would purchase the car back from me due to this title finding and the repeated issues. They agreed to a number, which was 7k below JD power trade in. When I returned a couple days later (after purchasing a new car in the meantime) to sign the papers, they had scratched out the agreed upon number and decreased it by 2k. That truck turned out to be better than the one I was looking at. Had it not been for Jamie notifying me of that truck, I would've not ended up with a truck I'm happy with and the price I paid for the truck. Even after agreeing to a price, there was still a few small things wrong with the truck, and Jamie and the manager made it right by taking off even more off price and allowing me some more on my trade. I had driven 3 hours to get this truck and neither of us wanted me to leave without, and we both came to an agreement that we were both happy with. It was honestly the best car buying and easiest place I've ever bought a car, and I've bought a lot of vehicles or helped people buy one. I think the best part of the whole experience was Jamie wasn't aggravating at all like a lot of car sales members. She checked on us regularly, and made sure we didn't need anything, but she went about her business and kept working on other things. She was a pleasure to work with. It took one trip back and forth and I was signing paperwork. I will be a repeat customer from 3 hours away, and will tell my friends and family about Herlong Ford, and I hope Jamie is still there!!! I bought a used 2011 Camry from them a while back when they were in Johnston SC. It had a slight pull to the left and they assured me an alignment would fix it. Had them align it twice and after the second time the steering wheel was completely off center and still pulled. I took it to Eubanks alignment in downtown Augusta (best in the business). The owner himself took me under the vehicle and showed me that the unibody was bent and evidence of a past collision and said get rid of this thing and that he'd take it back. At this point it had been a few months since the purchase. He tried to make the alignment better, and sent me on my way free of charge. I parked it and bought an old beater corolla to drive. I eventually sold the Camry for a huge loss and disclosed the issue to the new buyer who didn't seem to care. I'll never do business with this place again. read more

I have struggled with the Service Department for the last year and a half to receive proper service on my Ford Focus. The three attempts at correcting the known transmission issue in the Ford Focus 2012 have left my mother with a car that is not dependable. On two occasions I left the car with this dealership for the repairs. First they kept the car to fix the transmission software issue. This resulted in the car performing worse than before The next visit they stated the clutch kit needed replacing. This took an additional three weeks to replace. They did not inform me that they no longer had a transmission guy. The end result was a car that sat there 2-3 weeks without being worked on. After many calls they stated they finally had it up for repair. After a month of driving the car we noticed there was an oil leak. They admitted that leak was due to the previous transmission/clutch kit replacement. The final straw was them keeping the car 3-4 weeks again to correct the oil leak. They never called us to update the status. Our calls requesting a status update fell on deaf ears. Finally on our last call they stated the car was fixed and they did not even give my mother the service ticket with any details. She has requested that be mailed to her. A week after receiving the car and the fixed oil leak, the transmission warning light has started coming on and then the engine light appears. This experience has been a nightmare. The car will be taken to a hopefully more competent Ford dealership and the car will be traded in. Worst experience ever. I bought the car there. I had the car serviced there. Never again. Never. If a service department is in flux with employee turnover, then they should not agree to perform service they can not do. The last two visits I have experienced the worst customer service dropping the car off. They never look me in the eye. They never smile. Do they say 'Thank you'? Do NOT do business with this dealership. Their sales rep promised us oil change vouchers, mud flaps, Weather Tech mats, and a spray in bed liner when we purchased an F250 Platinum. We contacted him by text because he did not come through with the items and we were ready for the liner. He promised again he would order everything. He was then either let go or quit. The lead salesman that took over our complaint told us not to cancel the appointment for the bed liner, that it would be honored and the purchase order would be called in. We were lied to yet again. We had to pay for the liner ourselves because they never called in the purchase order. When I called to complain, and get reimbursed, we were told they couldn't do it. WHAT??? We could have cancelled the appointment, and were told not to cancel!!! Now we are out 400 dollars! We have talked with the customer relations gal and I have left three messages to speak with Mr Herlong. He refuses to talk with us and has his employees call us with his messages. This is a TERRIBLE dealership with ZERO respect for its customers. All they care about it making a sale. To top it off, they didn't even do the paperwork in a timely manner, so when we tried to pay our taxes, we couldn't.
