Absolute WORST H-boutique ever. EVER. Their inventory is decent-- probably because no one comes here to buy anything from the HORRIBLE sales representatives. My fiance has purchased several items for me from here and they have been horrible to him every single time. He just goes in, looks for what I want, and checks out. He's attempted to establish a sales relationship with the folks here but they're just horrible. They're never attentive, extremely unhelpful, and seem clueless about their own products. Love the store and their sales assosiates. Just recently went in and bought the H belt, and the H bracelet. Rafael was very helpful. I already knew I wanted the white bracelet, and they had a new one with the rose gold version. Absolutely love it!!! Rafael then helped me chose between the white/orange and black/grey belt, and I went with the black/grey, since that was their new color, and it is far easier to match then the white/orange. Although I love that one too! Haha... I went with the brushed gold buckle. I couldn't be more happier with my purchase and choice. The store is very nice, and the sales people are very welcoming, nice and helpful. I love their bangles as well, such a wide variety of designs and colors, and they're all so beautiful. Went in store tried on shoes in three different sizes, when I received my shoes the salesman had ordered the wrong size, It's fine I understand mistakes happen. I'm currently at the Hermes South Coast Plaza store in line for an hour so far just to exchange shoes for the correct size. I've spoken to the door person and was told doesn't matter you still need to wait! Worst service from Naomi in my 5-year Hermès shopping experience. Naomi sounds like a Korean, but she seems like very discrimination to other Asians as well, even if we are Asians as well. We go to the store on time for our appointment and she told us that we only have 30 min for the appointment, which is totally fine. But when we ask her to show us around more things around, she kept saying "sorry we only have 30 mins" but actually we still have 15 min left and we may need just 5 min to make the purchase. We are wondering if Naomi is the typical standard service from Hermès and we cannot what she is proud of, maybe she owns the store? Finally she kicked us to the front door, and make sure we are leaving on time. So suggestion is go purchase with other agent, SKIP Naomi. Some Employees are nice but since I love Hermes in Vegas more , I recommended my friend to get her belt in Vegas. We asked the guy if these are all belts and he is a security he said yes. First Security does not know how many in stock they have, second he should have directed to the seller, third I have notice if even you ask for the size or the certain model they just tell we don't have it. This place need better Sales Associate. I heard that Hermès trained their employees to not Judge the clients as they walk into the store, but I guess not at this location. Even the guards were judging my party as soon as we step our foots into the store. The sales lady who was in mid 40s to 50s was extremely rude and unhelpful. "Everything you see here we don't have any instock. Whatever you want we don't have. Even if you have money now you can't get anything because we don't have them." If that is true please just close the damn store. Why bother opening if everything is not instock. EXTREMELY rude lady who treat us like we're begging for stuff, when we just ask for sizes for shoes and shirts, in which they have a lot of sizes available and we did purchase. But that's not all. We waited for this sales lady more than 30min just to swipe our cards because she is BUSY helping her other client, even though we were waiting in front of the register. We then have to wait 30 more minutes for our stuff to be done packing. I guess Hermès really do TAKE their time to pack the clothes and shoe we bought because we left that place feeling extremely exhausted and tiring. NEVER AGAIN will we go to this place. Not really sure how I feel about this location. Visited for the 1st time and waited an hour to get in (I got there right when the mall opened). I could see people who were in the same line as me spending 45 mins to an hour inside. When I got in the store the SA that was assigned to me told me I only had 30 mins to shop, which is fine bc I knew what I wanted. I'm taking my review back up due to the awesome service that I received from Thomas over the weekend. True...there is hardly any merchandise on the floor. Thomas was a doll. When I told him what I was looking for, a belt, he brought out several choices for me to choose from. Had I not been approached by him, I would not have even known to ask. Never again. Customer service is horrendous. I had already shopped and purchased from LV, Gucci and Burberry and each experience was better than the last. I popped into Hermès, was standing there for 5 minutes as 2 sales associate chatted with 1 white man about his iPhone and the other sales associate pretended not to see me. I don't know why I even bothered. I walked upstairs to Ferragamo and had a wonderful experience. Hermès isn't worth the headache, especially not at south coast plaza. You'd think they'd be polite since they work on commission. She was nice enough to look in the back for a Constance belt but alas nothing was in stock (it figures). So I end up buying a GM H bracelet in blue. Transaction was done in minutes. I left happy and she gave me her business card to call when HER on Wednesday and HOPEFULLY the belt will be in stock. Ughhh every time I visit, the service gets worse and worse. This last visit didn't have a line which is great because you usually would have to wait outside 30mins-an hour to be allowed in. But even though there wasn't a line, myself and two other customers stood there for about 45 mins without any acknowledgment or assistance. When I was finally seen, I had a list of five items I wanted to get and every single one was sold out. The sa wasn't very friendly and would look past me and scan the room while trying to rush me. He assisted me for about ten minutes and then walked to the back and didn't return to the floor while I looked around a bit longer. During that time, none of the other sa's took notice of me. About 5 sa's on a Friday evening. It's honestly a shrink issue and the lack of attention can result in this store being burglarized let alone loosing customers. This is the second Hermes in which I was snubbed by sales staff. Are they not getting commissions? Are they only working for commissions? I was talking to one sales rep (Asian) who left midway through to help another Asian. Actually told me not to bother to buy anything and essentially walked away. I don't know about everyone else, but when I drop some cash on a bag (or anything), I love being treated like crap!!!! She also refused to put me on the birkin list. But the store manager of this particular location, Lynda, is just beyond horrible. Now that I'm almost 40 years old and been around most of the world, I feel informed enough to say this particular Hermes store has the worst customer service, one experience in particular is making me write this review. I have visited this store a total of 6 times now in my life, made purchases during half of those visits and on one visit picked up something I had purchased online. I find their sale associates very dismissive and reluctant to help. Once they even handed me off to another sales associate in the middle of showing me a bag without informing me first and for no apparently reason. I usually chalk it up to being in the OC and that's just how they roll. However, during my latest visit, when I picked up my online purchase, I experienced something else entirely. So, I purchased two items online through the Hermes website, specifically the petit h collection and had it shipped to the South Coast Plaza Store for pickup simply because they still have a lower tax rate than where I live. I was very excited to see my items, my completely paid for items that cannot be returned in the store. Again, these are already mine, the package has my name on the shipping label, just the Hermes store address, I am just picking up the box. My husband and I arrive at the store, make eye contact with a sales associate and ask her for my package, show her my ID, she goes to retrieve, all very normal. She comes back with my package some time later, we stand at a counter and she doesn't hand the box to me, instead she cuts open the box, takes out the two small beautifully wrapped orange boxes, still does not hand them to me. She then tears open the tissue paper wrapping the two boxes. As she's tearing into my purchase, my husband seeing all this says, "can you let her open it?" The sales associate ignores him and continues tearing into my boxes. She unties the first box, opens the lid, wrinkles the tissue paper as she unfolds it, opens the item in front of her then turns it around to show it to me. I'm a mixture of excited and confused - excited because what I bought was a color surprise, confused because this sales associate is not letting me have the pleasure of opening my purchases?! I say, "oh my gosh it's so pretty. Can I please open the next one?" She ignores me and proceeds to undo the ribbon and open the next box. My husband is so angry at this point, he says, "at least let my wife open it herself!" And had to walk away because he was so mad. She opens the entire box, looks at it herself then turns it around to me and says something about needing to check the contents before releasing the products to me. Bullshit. Such bullshit. She actually had the gall to ask me how much I paid for each of the items and started telling me she had never seen them before. Yea no shit, they're only in pop ups in Paris. She tried, TRIED to redo the ribbons but couldn't really. It was just all f'ed up at that point. As many of you know, when we make these extravagant purchases, part of the fun is opening the box. She took that from me. The customer service there is whole-other-level-bad. read more

Seems to me some of you may walk in with a bit of a chip on your shoulder. I experience pure joy just by walking in because Hermes creations are an art form! I have several scarves and fragrances; wish I could afford a bag or two;) but I am a confident and friendly woman so maybe it is all about how you are presenting yourself?? No smiles or hello as you enter the boutique. The only one who greeted us was the security. I thought retail was all about providing assistance but at this boutique you get none of that. You get unprofessional associates who are too busy standing around or talking to each other. From reading the other reviews here, it seems like I'm not the only one feeling this way. I think this boutique has a problem with providing good service. Maybe they think because it's Hermes, they have the right to be rude. They also pick and choose their clients it seems like. And don't bother asking for the Birkin or the Kelly if you're a new client. Those bags are reserved for their existing clients who already spent thousands and thousands. A client next to us was looking at the 2 tone Birkin but she decided to not purchase the bag for whatever reason. My friend asked the associate if she can purchase it since the other client didn't want it. Well, the associate simply answered with a no. She mentioned that the bags were only available to their existing clients. Then my friend told the associate she will go and buy a wallet to match the bag first. Then she will be an existing client because of a previous purchase. Well that's not how it works here. Clients have something called a spending ratio or limit which needs to be fulfilled first before they are offered a bag was what the associate told us. She didn't mention the amount but hinted it was in the high thousands. In a nutshell, if you have high thousands to spend first purchasing other things here, then this is the boutique for you. Then maybe, they will provide you with good service. Surely a client coming in to purchase a bracelet isn't worth their time. read more

We walked into the store today to finally put our names on the list for a Kelly bag. Thomas waited on us and I explained how we have relocated to OC recently and would like to purchase a bag for my wife. We are long time Hermes customers and have shopped in many of the stores across the East coast. Thomas basically provided us with an extortion based sales pitch. Not to mention he insulted us by telling us we had to "understand the clientele!" Whatever that means! It was crass, demeaning and demoralizing. My wife and my sister in law were very upset. We were told we needed to establish ourselves as a customer of his. Why not look at our purchases, figure out without insulting us that we were worth investing your time in and encourage us to come back and to keep coming back to build our portfolio. We understand relationships, faithful customers need to be nurtured. As Julia Roberts once said "Big Mistake!" Please teach your employees respect, and remember that it doesn't matter that Hermes is a coveted brand. What matters is the we come back for years and years and we spend the money we do.
