I had the worst experience of my life with Hernandez Towing company. October 22, 2025. Do not allow this company to tow your vehicle under any circumstances. Do not trust the Hernandez Towing under any condition. The mechanics at Hernandez Towing purposely damaged my radiator after they replaced the alternator on my Mercedes Benz. I didn't have any fluid leaking from my car when my vehicle was towed, no radiator leaks or oil leaks. When I returned to the shop to pick up my car, antifreeze was pouring out of my car. When I addressed the radiator leak with one of the mechanics, all of the mechanics in the shop walked away and would not look me in my eyes. I disputed the issue calmly then I asked the owner how much would the repair cost. He said $535. I live 640 miles from Hernandez Towing company and they new that. Thus, I was forced to have my radiator replaced. Most importantly, I had to book a room at a hotel because the new radiator would not be delivered until the next morning. So I am stuck in Virginia. Mnd you, my radiator didn't have a leak or any issues until my car was serviced at the shop. In addition, one of the mechanics purposely placed my steering wheel red warning light on. The red warning light appeared on my dashboard when I put the key in the ignition. The mechanics were trying create a third issue with my car, but that didn't work because the only way that emergency light comes on is when it is pulled manually inside my car. That warning light lever for the steering wheel is hidden under the steering wheel. Fortunately, I shut that dubious scam down. What is even more disturbing, when they replaced the radiator they didn't place new radiator hoses on the radiator. The owner told me to make sure I replaced the radiator hoses when I got home. Unbelievable! My car was held hostage by Hernandez Towing Company, Westchester Virginia until they received additional money for damages their mechanics purposely caused. I would never allow Hernandez Towing Company to towe my car or service my car. read more

Awful, just awful! My family of 4 had a low speed accident on Interstate 81 and the Highway Patrol called for a tow, so Hernandez towed our car back to their shop. (The young man that drove was very nice and dropped me off to get a rental car on the way.) Hernandez refused to tell my husband how much the tow was, wouldn't let him pay for the tow and he said he wouldn't charge us to store the car. He also said he would give us an estimate to fix the car and after many, many calls, it took two weeks to get a $3,500 estimate. The tow bill was $485 for towing us about 10 miles. And he wanted to charge us $90/day ($1,890) to store the car when we wanted it back, even though he had told us he would not charge us to store the car! In the end, he didn't charge us for the tow and gave us $200 for our low mileage 2004 Honda Accord that wasn't that badly wrecked. Totally bad experience. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS BUSINESS. There is a reason Hernandez has such low ratings. ugh read more

Asked the to check for a ac leak. They used a spray bottle and listened for a leak. I could have sprayed soapy water on the hoses myself for free. They do not have the proper equipment to do this. You can only understand one person and even him you have to listen to very hard to understand. They run this place about as illegal as you can run a place. I can't believe they are still in business. Do not I repeat do not go to this company. I have had a motor replace their they forgot to put the sway bar back on and it took me a month to get them to repair that. I have put in a brand new clutch in my car and the clutch literally has went out already and it hasn't even been two years. I had Hernandez Towing on another occasion, and tell my vehicle and they lost the key to my car and I had to go pay $60 to get a new key replaced. DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE FOR REPAIR to Hernandes Auto Repair in Winchester VA. I own a great 1994 Toyota Previa (still ruining strong) and many of repair shops do not like to work on this type of van because the engine location under the front seats. One day I saw this type of van mark with Latino tax parked at Hernandez auto repair shop, so I thought this place work on this type of van and I decided to bring our van to this shop and explain the problem with the van. it needs three to four time turning the key before it will start the engine, other than that it runs great. They told me need to replace the starter and quote me a price and I gave my information and they told me to pick it up sometime late afternoon same day. I came there at 4 pm and it was not ready. They replaced the starter and had our van steering wheel cover wide open, took off the computer box out and indicated the computer system is bad and need to be replace and they gave me list of prices from new at Toyota dealer, online price, and they told me they got a used one from junk yard and that cost only 30% compare after market cost. i was some what frustrated that they did not inform me and decided to get the computer box from junk yard for replacement and it was beyond the original scope of work. They told me the van won't start without replacing the computer box and if I do not want it, they can put back the original computer box and the cost per day to leave the van at their yard. I have no choice except to go a long with it and paid the extra cost for used computer box and fee to install it. Paid the fee and i requested to have my old computer box so i can explain to my wife why the cost ao much. Start the van and went home but the van cannot put it in park position (automatic) called them the next day and they told us, it will need to replace the cable and quote the price to replace it. We were so frustrated because it was nothing wrong before we brought the van there. We cannot spend anymore money for this old van and decides to drive it as is and put it on natural and use hand brake to park the van. Few months passed by and one week end I was washing the van and decide to put the old computer box back and the van start without any problem and run great also. We knew then we had been ripoff by Hernandez Auto Repair and later Someone at church refer us to one mechanic and he discovered someone ( Hernandez Auto Repair ) had loosen the tension cable adjustment and that is why we cannot put it in park. He adjusted the tension adjustment and the van can put in park position again. read more

Don't take car here. They messed up a window motor job that just cost me an extra $150. They out new motor in and failed to secure it. I drove in the rain for an hour today with a window that was off track. They speak very little English, too. Only gave me a receipt when I asked for it. read more

I used this companies service, awhile ago. And was very pleased with the professionalism in they're work ethics. If I ever need this type of service again, I would most certainly give them another call. read more

Years ago I had them paint the sides of my car from an auto accident. This was an insurance job. There were decals and body trim associated with it as it was a Trans Am. They painted the car and kept my decals. I came back several times about it and they blew it off. Not trustworthy and there job was sub-par. read more
