Kelly Nicolaisen and her husband Jacinto Castillo, owners of The Mom & Pop Shop have been vibrant members of our community. The shop was a destination for an eclectic collection of art, greeting cards quirky items, jewelry and other hand crafted items all sourced and curated from local artists. They also functioned as an art gallery. If you needed something in particular that wasn't in stock (a set of acrylic paint pens for example), Kelly was happy to order them for you. We love their pumpkins and squash, the leaf vases, the tortoise shell series (our fav), eternal flame, orion, etc. etc. One of these days we'll have to get some of those glass mushrooms too. Be sure to check out their beautiful back garden where they incorporate their art pieces into the landscape. I could sit there all day to enjoy the sight, and the sounds of birds and the water fountain. Their two friendly dogs are always there - we love people who work with their pets around!

Mary puts a lot of love into teaching us the detailed choreography, designing costumes for events and parades, and getting us ready to perform. She has more energy than any of us. We learned to cook with the Thermomix while working in teams at different stations, preparing dishes from around the world. It was hands-on, interactive, and a lot of fun - every dish turned out delicious. Miggi is a fantastic teacher: clear, detailed, confident, and incredibly knowledgeable. She explains techniques in a way that's easy to understand, and we all walked away genuinely better cooks. We also paired the experience with wine tasting and learned how to taste and appreciate wine properly, which made the evening even more memorable. On top of that, Miggi's fun, warm personality really brings the whole experience together. My office team loved it and is still talking about it.
