We've come to this Hero location a few times and it is a nice hidden gem for some of the best donuts in town. We've tried pretty much every donut place in town (Parlor, Foxs Donut Den, Five Daughters, etc) and Hero has to be our favorite. The employees have always been welcoming to us and quickly grab our donuts for us. The ambience is not going to blow your mind, but it certainly feels like an upscale donut shop. The donuts are truly the best I've had. Soft, delicious flavors, and at least 2-3 seasonal donuts which is always fun to swap things up. Even their plain glazed donut is top notch. Also, their cold brew coffee is one of my favorites in town and we look forward to it almost as much as the donuts. Give it a try and you wont be disappointed.

So happy this is in The Wedgewood Houston area. The burgers did not disappoint. I had the secret menu donut burger, my hubs had the dad burger and we shared the Super Buffalo Crunch. The house made pickles are to die for! Aereon was the highlight of our visit. He was super professional, friendly and informative. Did I mention the fries & hash browns are delish too?? Definitely going back to try more donuts and their milkshakes.

I went there for pour over because it gives me the best opportunity to try some of their fancier coffee beans. To me, most of what I've tried at Honest Coffee tastes more on the side of traditional coffee (except for the Bunum Wo, which is New Guinea Peaberry), but it is done very well. The barista was helpful, and the pour over was quite tasty. I'd definitely recommend getting the La Cabana as a pour over. The menu said La Cabana has a bright taste, and they weren't kidding. However, it isn't so over powering that a traditional style coffee lover would not like it. However, as good as it was, there are a few things I find about Honest Coffee that keeps it from getting five stars. They obviously aren't too big because I still gave it four stars. For one, I didn't see a natural processed coffee bean on the pour over menu. Those are the ones that I believe have the best flavor (though the one I had was a light roast, so that's good to have that option). Also, I was served the pour over in a to go cup, but I was not asked if I wanted that or a mug. I like to see the presentation with a pour over. However, it was still great coffee. Probably the biggest thing that keeps me from going to Honest Coffee more often is the fact that there are only a small number of beans that are advertised on line (which are nearly always the same ones), so I never am sure what they have. There are usually a number of different bags of beans for sale in the store that don't show online. I normally look for something I want to try online and then go to the store to buy it. If I can't see this, then I'm less likely to go there. With that being said, they do show their "Half Truth" blend online, which is a half caff coffee. If you are looking for this, it's a delicious tasting blend, and the cherry notes they advertise are definitely there. Unfortunately, I didn't see a bag of it at this store, but I'll bet you can get it at the Franklin store. You could, however, find a bag of the La Cabana I tried at the downtown store. If you want something with a good deal of brightness but not too far from traditional coffee, go for it!

It's just a nice, clean, attractive coffee house with really nice staff and great coffee. The biscuit I had was okay but small, but I came there for coffee. I ordered a pour over of their Worka Sakaro coffee bean, and I saw them brew it in a ceramic Kalita Wave and bring it to the table. I enjoyed it a lot! Just remember that, when you order something made with a specialty bean, it will usually taste different from just regular old coffee, and that's a good thing. Really, it's delicious! The people working there are very nice and very friendly. They do a great job at making people feel welcome. Parking can be tight in that area, but there is a parking lot next to it with validated parking. It's easier to figure out than some places I've been.

The menus are filled with great options from your classics of avocado toast and waffles, to special plates like shakshouka and ramen, along with dishes with a little more umph like burgers, banh mi's, burritos and much more! When in East Nashville, I usually make an effort to swing by for an iced coffee at minimum, but have been known to grab biscuits and gravy from time to time...never a bad decision either. The space is good sized, features an open dining area with a small bar all surrounded by floor to ceiling windows/garage style doors that open up to the cozy patio. A space for everyone. Service is solid and friendly. There is a lot on the menu, so they are happy to walk you through it as needed...and also give you the time needed, which I definitely utilized on my first trip in. Overall, definitely a fan of ITCC and their location in East!

I arrived around noon on a Saturday and tried their breakfast burger with hash browns and unsweetened matcha latte with oatmilk - everything was perfect! The burger was a good portion size and perfectly charred and the hash browns were super crispy too which is how I like them and paired really well with the breakfast burger obviously, soaking up all the yoke. I'm happy I chose to keep the matcha unsweetened, it really gave way to the actual flavor of the drink and I really enjoyed it. The matcha flavor was not too heavy, so maybe I would request extra matcha next time for that extra punch. While I'm realy happy with the food itself, it did take a while for them to make and I even considered asking if they forgot to place my food order (eating out solo often, it has happened before). I will say it was worth the wait. The prices were pretty fair as well plus it was great to see the wide variety of menu items from breakfast to lunch to coffee to tea and even cocktails, everything sounded great and I already know what I'll be trying next time. Lastly, the atmosphere inside was perfect for a solo brunch date or as a nice study/work spot, not too loud and there's lots of bar space to get some work done or just hang by the big window. It's super cute and cozy inside and just really relaxing. It's nice that its tucked away in its own little plaza and you can't go wrong with your own parking lot, thank goodness and especially in that part of East. I want to point out that while the employees were very nice, I was sitting at the bar and it was kind of hard to get anyone's attention if I needed something, wish they made themselves a little more available in that way or asked if I was okay, etc. but overall a pretty good experience and I would love to come back again soon.
