I had this company change batteries and size my 3 watches exclusively from 2008 to 2012. Over…read morethese years, 2 of these watches experienced problems I had initially chalked up to wear and tear. Watches do not last forever, necessarily. I had a Fossil watch I've owned for probably 3 years. in 2011, I took it in because I guessed the battery had died. I was told when they changed the battery, that it did not work anymore. No further explanation could be given. I had a Diesel watch I owned for probably 5 years. In 2009, I took it in for the same reason. This watch takes multiple batteries for different reasons. When the one for the time went out, I asked them to replace the one for the date also -- it had stopped working a few months prior. I was told that the date function no longer worked. I moved away from that area and took these 2 watches to a local jeweler this afternoon, just to see what could be done. I like the watches and really can't afford to buy new ones. He opened the watches in front of me and showed me what these people did. On the Fossil, the bottom battery connector was completely missing out of the watch and the gasket on the back cover was gone. I may as well throw the thing out. It hasn't worked since last year and there's no way anyone there is going to acknowledge they ruined it, much less worked on it months ago. I don't like that they KNEW why the watch didn't work and it was most likely their own fault because they possibly carelessly removed the old battery and ripped the connector out with it. On the Diesel, the employee somehow managed to stick a battery on top of the top battery connector... meaning, it wasn't even attached to the watch. It needed to be placed between the two connectors and here, clearly, they forced it to sit on top of the fitting. The readout actually works and the battery sat awkwardly in the wrong position for THREE other battery changes. Nobody noticed the error all that time. Unfortunately, it hadn't worked since 2009 and I had to ask the jeweler to program it since I hadn't the slightest idea anymore. I'll be contacting the store manager or owner on this problem. I'm really upset about their neglience and lack of education to do something they should be able to do routinely. Again, I don't expect anything out of it because I have no proof because when the watch didn't work, I didn't pay -- therefore didn't receive a receipt. But, he or she should be aware. So should you.

"Girl you had me dangling, like a yo-yo on a string, But…read morewith you at the controls I could accomplish anything" (The Kinks) One of the side effects of seeing your body weight yo-yo is that your rings don't fit you like they used to. My Class of 1975 college ring fit me very well in 1975. But as time went by and my weight went up, it became very tight and uncomfortable, so I went to a jeweler and had it enlarged. Well, fast forward to today where my considerable amount of weight loss came with a side effect. Now my ring was so loose if I shook my hand, it would zoom off my finger as though it was connected to a sling shot. On more than one occasion, when I was scraping a dinner plate into the trash, the ring went flying into the pail along with the left-over peas and carrots. Which explains why I popped into Riches Jewelers to see if they could remedy the situation. The owner Rich looked at the ring, saw how the 50-year-old band had been stretched out and was thinning from that original repair and aging, and said he wasn't sure it could be salvaged. He measured my ring finger to get an accurate size and told me he needed to do some investigation before he could give me a repair budget. A week later he called me with a number that seemed fair, so I gave him a go ahead. Well, I picked it up today and I have to tell ya, that guy Rich is a miracle worker. Yes, it fits now. Basically, he rebuilt the back of the band, rounded the old squished oval shape, and even etched in the design lines to match the original. He cleaned and polished it, removed all the dirt and gunk from the crevices, and it looks gorgeous. His price was $125 plus tax. I love my college ring! It looks so nice that years ago I once had a student ask me if it was a Super Bowl ring! Anyway, thank you Rich, he is as honest and pleasant as anyone I've dealt with in a long, long time.
