However, we noticed that the property is showing its age, and several items appear to need maintenance or replacement. The toaster was rusted out, cabinets are starting to peel, and the Teflon pans are peeling. Housekeeping wasn't as clean as past stays as there was dust on the nightstands and dirty grout in the bathroom. Our biggest disappointment was what happened after we checked out. We accidentally enabled the parental controls on the TV, and instead of handling it as a technical issue, the manager called us multiple times and threatened to charge us for an additional night's stay if it wasn't resolved by us. The manager, Brett admitted to not even googling how to reset the TV before repeatedly calling us. The issue was ultimately fixed with our help but there was a lot of drama. We hope the hotel invests in updating the property and focuses on providing the kind of customer service that encourages guests to return.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had…read more While we were away, hotel staff allowed other guests into our room because of a "double booking" error. Those guests, together with hotel staff, removed our personal belongings and took them to the front desk without our knowledge or permission. When we returned, we were told there was nothing the hotel could do because it was "an error in their booking system." That's not an excuse--it's the hotel's responsibility to manage its reservations without violating guests' privacy and security. I contacted Booking.com, and they reached out to the hotel on our behalf. We requested a refund since strangers had been allowed into our room and had handled our personal belongings. The hotel refused, claiming they weren't responsible because the mistake was caused by their online booking system. Blaming your own system instead of taking responsibility is unacceptable. To make matters worse, the staff was completely unprofessional and showed no concern for what had happened. There was no apology, no accountability, and no attempt to make the situation right. We paid nearly $600 for a single night, only to have our privacy violated and our belongings handled by strangers. If a hotel is willing to let other people into your occupied room because of an internal mistake, how can anyone feel safe staying there? Avoid this hotel. If they can let strangers into your room once, they can do it again.

We were pleasantly surprised, for a two star hotel this place was really nice. A little small, but exactly what we needed. The provided shampoo & body wash smelled amazing. We had a king size bed, which my boyfriend & I both agreed was very comfortable. The area was very quiet & everything was clean. Although a bit far from haystack rock, it is extremely close to lots of food & shops. Check in & check out was very seamless & we had a great time. Would stay here again the next time we come.

I was just looking for a place to stay with my four-footed friend, Ruthie Bea, but this eclectic home away from home turned out to be so much more. Our room "Smooth Sailing" was clean, quiet and comfortable. And as its name suggests, it was decorated in sailing vessels. It's situated just two blocks away from a Mobi-Mat that leads to a big sandy beach. This beach is perfect for beachcombing and chasing the surf. (Mobi-Mats are designed for strollers and wheelchairs but are great for short legged dogs and folks like me with knees that struggle in deep sand). Additionally, we were about a mile straight shot from Seaside's unique downtown area and some really excellent clam chowder. One of Ruthie's and my favorite things about Sandy Cove was getting to chat with the absolute gem of an owner, Annie, and hear about all her great finds (and treats! Lots of treats and ear scritches). Each room is different and there's at least twelve that are dog friendly, so Ruthie and I will be back again and again.

My husband & I love the fact that we can open the sliding door & falling asleep to the relaxing waves. Even with PNW fall and winter weather, we fully enjoy storms watching from our own balcony. Older property & dated decor, yet well maintained to ensure you feel comfortable and relax away from home and short getaway. Walking distance to everywhere in town, you don't need to drive after you get here. I noticed that people set bonfires on the beach and enjoy them at night. The town itself is pretty quiet, most restaurants close by 8pm. It's well situated to the bay for crabbing, boating and clamming. The tv is big and has cable but it does not let you screencast or connect to it so if you want to stream, you can't. Internet works well. The bathroom is decent. Shower pressure is amazing and hot! Kitchenette is basic, but it has what you need if you want to cook a meal (just not fish or crabs or you will be fined!). The fireplaces don't work- those would be such a nice cozy touch if they did! The owner is wonderful and so helpful and fun to chat with. Bed was very comfortable with plenty of extra pillows and blankets.

It's not on the beach, but you can see the water from the inn, and it's literally steps to the beach. The location, in the southern end of Cannon Beach, is quiet and uncrowded, even during the summer. You can walk north all the way into town along the beach - a lovely 40 minute stroll along the West's most impressive coastline - or you can walk south an explore tide pools and hunt for sand dollars. The rooms are cozy, comfortable, and very, very clean. I couldn't find a speck of dust or dirt anywhere. Beds are incredibly comfortable with down duvets and feather pillows. We stayed in a room with living room/bedroom/kitchen arrangement, where the couch folds out into a bed. Towels were top-notch and super fluffy. Woodburning stove kept the room toasty. Minifridge kept our wine cold. Within easy walking distance of Mo's restaurant, a market, the amazing Waves of Grain bakery, and several shops and galleries. The one tiny problem was that the room smelled a bit musty with the windows closed - but problem solved by opening the windows and letting in the sea breezes! The innkeeper, Debra, was genuinely friendly and welcoming. She gave us free use of her cats, as well - Rose the Siamese kept us company in the evenings while we read. This place is a great deal, and we hope to come back.

And being a short walk to the beach right in front of you added to the magical experience. Couch super comfy and amazing spot for the views throughout. Deck is chef's kiss.
