So you pivot walk up and order to-go instead of waiting for the 1 hours + wait due to the group size. Now I had Sydney (no badge so this is how I'll spell her name) was awesome grabbed a ordering pad took my order: pulled pork Mac n cheese, prime rib dip, x2 seared salmon, mushroom burger and a blue cheese chicken salad...oh and some bbq chicken wings too! She said give us 30 minutes and 30 minutes on the nose, I had food in hand and out the door! No pictures from this order since food in to go boxes are not that sexy and I had hangry diabetics in this group so maybe on our next visit. Food was awesome as usual and was extra special because we're celebrating our Coug! GO COUGS! And thanks to South Fork for always being a great place to be and have a nice meal.

Sometimes I get ice cream but usually I'm there to get a small bag of Cougar Cheese or cans of it to give to friends/family we plan to visit. They're $30 per can there (last I checked) and normally $40+ anywhere else (even in Pullman). I often feel like I'm remembering the price incorrectly so I try to pay check on it (both at Ferdinand's and at random stores). I think I saw cans "on sale" for about $50 at a grocery store in Redmond, WA once. They also ship the cheese cans during the colder months but online they're currently $33 (per 30 oz can) + shipping. Tip: WSU's Sensory Science Center is super close by and often needs panelists for food and beverage (including alcohol) studies. They usually thank participants with Ferdinand's gift cards (usually $5-10 but sometimes more) so most of our visits are immediately after participating in a study. They don't have panelist studies every day/week so it's best to get on their email list.

I asked for ketchup, but I apologized to the waitress for the ketchup request as she seemed to be very busy with the dining room filling up. It was a very uncomfortable feeling to ask for anything because of the vibe. The best thing on the table was the kettle chips, and the side of broccoli that one of my daughters had with her steak was fabulously seasoned. We made it a point to complement the broccoli and asked how it was prepared at the end of our meal when we were offered the check . Our waitress was kind enough to find out for us but the answer that came back seemed to shield the seasonings as a proprietary secret. In all it was an OK experience and we might return next time we're in town to give them another chance. If anything, I'd order the delicious kettle chips and broccoli.

Heros and sports is the quintessential small town classic sandwich shop. The decor was generalized and low key, a few indicative sports postings here and there. The prices were a tad dilated, but including the punch card deals, offered catering, noticeably speedy service and decently tasty food, it was well worth it. I ordered a chicken panini with chipotle sauce, and I found it to be quality food. Nothing to die for in all honesty, but a down-right flavorful lunch. I recommend this place for the student/businessman on the go, because in my experience, from ordering to service, it took literally 4 minutes. read more

I've tried a variety of sandwiches and soups here, and it's really just okay. I'm not sure why people are excited about this place. I can easily make a better sandwich at home or grab a delicious one pretty much anywhere else. It's cheap and fast, but Heros N Sports is lacking on flavor and sometimes cleanliness too. Growing up here I have had the pleasure of watching this business grow each year. Family owned and operated, recently renovated, flat screen tv's, open kitchen, and ridiculously comfortable booths. This is great authentic sandwich shop hidden in downtown Pullman. My very first visit was back in the day when you could grab a sandwich and trade some baseball cards. Solidly mediocre food, and little more. The soups are bland, and the sandwiches rely more on quantity than quality, so don't expect to have your socks knocked off. I wasn't impressed the last time I visited, and now that I've found tastier alternatives for about the same price nearby, I likely won't again. read more
