I love this place! Easily my favorite restaurant for hundreds of miles around. Great food, great service, great small-town charm, a good variety of beers, and did I mention the great food?! The Palouse Caboose is in the small town (population less than 1,000) near Pullman, WA, home of Washington State University (WSU, Go Cougs!). If you are anywhere near the town of Palouse you should absolutely go to the Palouse Caboose for lunch or dinner. They have a variety of different sandwiches and wraps, some really good salads, and more. There are a number of beers on tap and a full bar as well. We bring groups here and everyone always loves their food. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the casual ambiance is cheerful and fun. Think small-town charm with big friendly smiles. Oh, and they carry the amazing Huckleberry Ice Cream from the WSU creamery.

Excellent dinner. Their meats were great, with a special shout out to the pitmaster for the Smoked Turkey. Turkey is hard to make macro for the daily menu. It rarely turns out as good as you do it at home, but their's has great smokey flavor, is tender, and has a consistancy of a top-shelf deli meat. It's clearly smoked and processed in house, and attests to how genuine this place is. Wifey had it as her main, and I had it on my Club. Was able to sample their brisket in their soup-of-the-day (Beef Stew) and it was excellent as well. All other sides were great, and seemed to be made fresh that day. And it's the little things that impress me sometimes--like offerings of delicous pickled vegs, and whipped honey butter with the cornbread. Good home town folks running the joint, and it was busy early on a Sat night. You'll pay a premium for this barbecue, and we had no problem doing so. We would again...

A fun place to grab some BBQ. It's more of a bar than a sit-down restaurant but they have a sizable menu and the few times I've been there everything has been great.

Cheerful staff, helpful w suggestions re: menu and drinks. Sat outside during sunset, finished w lightning and thunder and a little rain! Great summer evening. Food was excellent. Served in a timely manner. Will return when visiting WSU. Sadly they're only 400-miles from home.

My wife spotted this on Yelp this morning when looking for a lunch spot on our travels in the area. We decided to give it a go and we were glad we did. The restaurant/bar is open and airy with a handful of wood tables. Some with bench seats and others with chairs. There are also tables and chairs outside as well. We were greeted by Kim (Owner/Waitress/cashier) and she was super friendly like you would expect in such a small town. She gave us menu's and told us the specials of the day. I went with the brisket sandwich and my wife ordered a meatloaf sandwich. Drinks were ordered and brought to the table lickity-split. The sandwiches were both wonderful. The brisket full of flavor and moist, the meatloaf cooked perfectly with a hint of a sweet flavor. We both had a side of potato salad and it was very good with perfect texture and mix of ingredients. For desert we had a peach cobbler with a couple scoops of Ferdinand's (WSU creamery) ice cream. I can't think of a time that I've ever had a better cobbler. We're already planning our next visit.... we hear they have a great breakfast as well.

My favorite salad and chicken tenders never disappoint either. Before coming here, I actually drove around the area for quite a while trying to find somewhere to enjoy dinner, but after looking at several places, I still ended up choosing The Land because I knew it would not disappoint me. And of course, the cocktails were excellent too. I had a really difficult day that day, but after a good meal here, my mood became so much better. I left feeling relaxed, recharged, and happy again. Also, thank you to the lovely girl who welcomed us so warmly. I'm sorry I didn't fully remember your name, but I hope to see you again soon. And as always, I highly recommend Andrew's cocktails. You can truly tell he takes cocktail making seriously. The flavors are balanced beautifully -- the fresh mint aroma was perfectly infused into the drink, the alcohol taste was incredibly smooth, and the strength was just right for that relaxed, slightly tipsy feeling.
