    African fat tailed gecko

Long story short ~ I recommend!! Knowledge/Politeness: I own many different exotic animal species, and I have found the people who work at this store to be knowledgeable and friendly to deal with. Like any exotics place, each employee has their specific knowledge set that they're more acquainted with. Amphibian knowledge is not the most prevalent, but reptile knowledge definitely is! A lady that works there is a GREAT resource for helping you set up a bioactive terrarium. The owner is super friendly and will talk to you if he's there. Inventory: I have bought 1 axolotl, 1 white's tree frog, and 1 African fat tail gecko from this location, and all of them have been perfectly healthy, happy, and surprisingly easy to handle. They have the best insect feeders in the B/CS area. I have not personally bought their mice/rat feeders. Their inventory for decor, lighting, heat mats, bagged foods, and bioactive needs is extensive. The employees are all knowledgeable about tank set-up requirements. I saw some other reviews commenting on the smell.... For anyone who has ever owned sugar gliders or massive amounts of small mammals, there is always going to be a smell. Sugar gliders are notoriously stinky, no matter what you do. The smell of the store is not bad, people are being dramatic. The smell is definitely not coming from the reptiles/amphians, and it's not that bad. The tanks are almost all bioactive for the reptiles/amphibians, and the animals are healthy every time I've been in there.

We have been bringing our dog to the PetSmart grooming salon in College Station for nearly four…read moreyears, but today's experience left us feeling deeply hurt, judged, and disrespected. We originally booked a bath and brush appointment. On the day of that appointment, we were told that our dog had some tangling around his tail and would need a full shave. We take good care of our dog and did not fully agree with that assessment, but we trusted their recommendation and agreed to reschedule for the full grooming service. At today's appointment, the final bill was more than $215, nearly double what we originally expected. The invoice included separate detangling and dematting charges, even though the recommended service was a full shave. The charges were not clearly explained, and it was difficult to understand why all of these additional services were necessary. Even then, our primary concern was not the money. It was the way we were treated when we picked up our dog. Shelby Pryor, who identified herself as the person in charge of grooming, spoke to us in an extremely judgmental and disrespectful manner in front of other customers. Instead of calmly explaining any concerns, she gave forceful instructions about how we should care for our dog and demanded that we bring him in every six weeks. Professional advice is always welcome, but there is a respectful way to communicate with pet owners. We should not be made to feel embarrassed, shamed, or spoken down to after paying in full for every service recommended by the salon. When I approached the front desk to ask how I could provide feedback to PetSmart management, I waited for some time before Shelby came out and said, "I am the one in charge. What do you want?" Her response only added to the disrespect we had already experienced. I explained that my concern was not simply about the charges, but about the judgmental comments, commanding tone, and lack of basic courtesy. Pet owners trust groomers with members of their family. That trust should be met with transparency, compassion, and professionalism, not public criticism or humiliation. We have continued giving this location opportunities over the past four years, but this experience was the final breaking point. I sincerely hope PetSmart's College Station management takes this complaint seriously, reviews both the billing practices and the way customers are being treated, and provides appropriate coaching and accountability. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend the grooming salon at this location.

While the wife shopped, I had a nice conversation with the owner and her son. I was struck by the unusual (to me) combination of "pet store" and "decor store." I was pleased to hear how the dream came to be reality, especially since we're dog-lovers and enjoy finding distinctive home decor items. The pet food and treat selection, as well as the collars, leashes, and other accessories is out-of-this-world. The clothing and home decor items are interesting and varied. Their space is a restored building and that just adds character to the entire mix. We brought home a beautiful blue-and-white chinoiserie vase and a few other assorted items that caught our interest. This is a great place to browse and is on our list of places to re-visit when we're in town next year.

Her son, Conner, is the nicest human I have had the pleasure of meeting. Just as a disclaimer, they are not a doggy grooming saloon. They are more of a retair store that also services animals (?) Still not to sure about it. Lisa and her son made us feel welcomed and showed us what Southern Hospitality truly is. They have convinced us to take a mommy and daddy date to Brenham.
