They communicate clearly what they are doing at all times and make the eye exam an easy process. My youngest child in glasses was only 4 when he began treatment and with his special needs with adhd and his anxiety they worked well with him. Over the years we have seen Dr German for continued care and he is patient and very calm in his practice. The once 4 year old is now 15 and we will continue care as long as our eyes need it. One of my children needed to see a retina specialist and the office worked with us to get her scheduled at that office. With insurance changes we have gone sporadically to other optometrists and ophthalmologists but the care we received elsewhere just doesn't compare to lakeshore. In my many visits, I have seen several of the doctors and have been pleased with all of them, I find them to be knowledgeable, thorough, friendly, and not pushy about upselling for services that I do not need. I always get a contact lens exam since I don't ever wear glasses and have always been pleased with the experience. They keep good records so I don't have to remember the last time I visited--they already know! In two years, when it's time for my next exam, I will be back to Grafton Eye Center.

She took plenty of time to answer my questions. I did not feel like I was "just another ho-hum patient". The eye center's staff were also very pleasant and friendly; always smiling and chatting. You have multiple people overseeing self checkout that could easily just check us out much faster than we can ourselves. Self checkout is a joke. It means you do not care about customer service, because most tolerate it rather than prefer it. The absolute worst part is they removed all chairs & benches, inside and out, so if you happen to be elderly or disabled and have to wait for a taxi or other ride, you just get to stand out in the cold. They've taken precautions way too far. Think I'm done shopping at this location.

When called back for my appointment the doctor was not very friendly and argued with me regarding an increase in my prescription. He suggested I get checked over by my general health doctor to make sure everything was functioning correctly, which wasn't a problem since I had a yearly wellness check coming up any way. However, all came back normal and my prescription had just gone up quite a bit. Needless to say this left me feeling confused, but I decided to order the contacts anyway. It's been a month since my initial appointment and still no contacts in. My replacement/trial contacts have dried up and ripped so they gave me some that were "close" but are still causing irritation and headaches. I've stopped over multiple times during business hours to ask questions about this but there was no one there. I understand being open by appointment but why have regular hours if you aren't going to stick to them? Anyway, I've really wanted to like this place but I'm finding it really difficult and will likely go somewhere else next time.

It appeared she was the only employee at the store and she was helping another customer. All good. I had a quick return to make and had one question about whether the store carried 3-inch rollers (all I saw were 4-inch rollers on the shelf). Seeing that the other customer needed more assistance, the employee asked if she could take care of me first, since my needs would be quickly taken care of. The other customer agreed. I told the employee I wanted to make a return, but I didn't have the credit card with me that I used to make the purchase. (The item was about $6.) I asked if I could just get cash back or a store credit. The older woman employee proceeded to berate me in front of the other customer, accusing me of trying to rob the store. What? Are you serious? OK, so what about the 3-inch roller? She told me I'm making those up and they don't exist because Shewin-Williams doesn't have those. She claimed my intention was to simply make her look bad in front of the other customer. Again, what? You're kidding, right? She's a real piece of work and absolutely needs to be reprimanded. I eventually left the store and bought my 3-inch roller at Home Depot, which also happens to be the place I buy all my paint and accessories now. Horrendous. Not sure what her problem is/was. Bad apple, I guess.
